Unfortunately when we got to our room, it wasn’t what we expected, it had a terrible smell, it wasn’t good, and the room was very noisy. We decided not to stay in the room, we only looked at the room didn’t sit down or anything. Unfortunately they decided to charge us $351.90 when they weren’t going to be able to sell it anyway in that state…
We only booked it on our way about a hour before we got to Napier, and they said because we had booked it they where going to charge us anyway. Yes I understand that but we would of stayed if the room was cleaned and didn’t smell bad… anyway very unhappy, personally I don’t think they should of charged us, as they had heaps of time to re sell it… think maybe they should think about refunding us.

Popular hotel amongst the people I know, they have mostly stayed for business. I enjoyed my room, clean and warm with everything you need including a spa and a deck looking out at the ocean.
Ask for a floor room if you don’t like stairs, otherwise good exercise put the bags in the bag lift.

What a wonderful stay we had. Was beautiful and clean. Loved how spacious it was. Stayed for 4 nights and room was given a full service each day, including toiletries. Manager gave a us an exceptional rate which was much appreciated. Looking forward to coming back again in the near future.

Fantastic clean apartment. Nice views from the balcony but was a little too cold to sit outside when we were there. King Room with a spa was spacious and the spa bath was huge. Good location within walking distance to some great restaurants and the beach is just across the road. Definitely worth the money for your stay in napier.

Get well located accommodation. Nice straight forward property. The Wi-Fi didn't work unfortunately, however the best… I mean best… omelette I have ever had for breakfast.

We had a nice room with a lovely wiew over the bay, although slightly dated, and only having a baggage lift the accommodation was warm and comfortable with a lovely spa. The staff were friendly and very accommodating.

We stayed here a few years ago and it was great. Sadly it is looking and feeling tired. The bathroom door didn't always stay closed as the lock was no longer on. The extraction fan above the bath was disgusting. The bed wasn't that comfortable — a bit hard. It was, however, quiet and close to town.

Charming motel right off the coast and with spectacular views of the Pacific ocean. Very close to the National Aquarium and within walking distance of the art deco area. No room service or elevators to be found though.

Stylish comfortable spacious room with good sized balcony overlooking the sea front. We loved the motel wthe location by the sea and close to the centre. The Wi-Fi seemed a bit slower than some other places and I resorted to my own data at times but otherwise fantastic.

Our mid-February stay here coincided with for the start of Napier's 'Art Deco' weekend. The town was immersed in the `30's. Historic cars and their owners dressed in period were everywhere. It was Napier's annual spotlighted weekend. Needless to say when I was trying to book lodging months in advance, there was nary a place to stay. I was lucky to book the last room facing Marine Parade … an 'Executive Suite' at the Nautilus Hotel. The property is a bit dated, but our room was spacious and comfortable. It had a large balcony with ocean and parade views. Even better, it had a large Jacuzzi style spa which more than fit the both of us just fine. As this was our first time in Napier AND we had no idea of the goings on for 'Art Deco' weekend, we were glad the staff filled us in on all the particulars. They were most accommodating and made our stay at the Nautilus even more special. I would love to come back to Napier. When I do the Nautilus Hotel will be on my 'A' list.

Beautiful settling with nice balcony to enjoy the views across the beach and sea. Great for people watching. Jacuzzi bath was great. Loved it.

Amazing large spa bath in the room, friendly staff and convenient location to restaurants and shops. Great ocean view.

Nice room. Great water view. Sofa bed mostly ok. No elevator for people. Luggage only. Affected me because I was in the midst of a gout attack.

Much cooler than I anticipated, especially for the price. Staff are friendly, utilities work well, place is clean and comfortable. Views are spectacular!

Fantastic stay here over the Christmas period. Great location adjacent the city centre and opposite the beach and walkway. Room was superb, with balcony, seaview, and very well equipped. Highly recommended.

Great to have such a beautiful view and the bi-fold doors were able to be opened fully to let a wonderful breeze through. Friendly service from reception when checking in and out. Will definitely be stopping again.

Typical motel. Good kids & family. Reasonable tidy & close to the city. Aquatic centre across the road.

Lovely place in a great location, cafés and restaurants within walking distance as well as an awesome water front to walk along. Friendly staff. My one problem was the beds headboard was loose so anytime you moved it would knock loudly.

We have just spent 2 nights at this motel, last time we were there was 8 years ago. Sad to say that we did not get the same treatment as our first visit. Our bed unfortunately was very hard, and the bedlinen smelt like it had been on the bed for a while. The bath robes which used to be very soft and fuffy were very small and thin. The Women who serviced the units were very pleasant, our furniture on our balcony needs to be repaired as the chairs and tables were starting to fall apart due to being weathered. The aluminum door didn't lock at the top leaving a grap though the door. Carpets need shampooing very strained around the coffee table. Furniture needs re-polishing very marked. Entrance door to room has a 3mm grap around the door leaving another breeze though the room. The door looks like it's been broken into at some stage. I went to use the Chopping board only to find that it was dirty, not washed after last use. The price of our stay for the 2 nites was $570 as we booked though a online accommodation site. I feel that the unit was very over priced and we were sadly let down this time. Motel just needs some maintenance to bring it back to how it used to be. We loved the location very close to beach, shops, restaurants and cafes.

Restaurant makes a mean steak … Fantastic chef and menu all round.

Terrific place. Great rooms … Only issue is the heavy vehicle traffic all night.

Good basic accommodation. Not many hotels have a large spa pool in the bedroom so big ups! Easy walking distance to City centre and is right on the beach.

Very friendly staff and nice clean accommodation. Beautiful view, and modern fixtures. Spa was nice and big. Will definitely look to visit again sometime. Only thing wrong was the coffee plunger gauze was well worn and fell apart during use which, while repairable by screwing the gauze back in, wasted the one coffee packet provided with the room.

Lovely place to stay. Jacuzzis in the rooms too. Wifi not the best. Overall great hotel.

However I woke up with mosquito bites
We knew there was a couple buzzing round but we there was no fly spray avaliable in the rooms to kill the buggars. So this morning my husband and I were covered in bites! I'm allergic so am a bit of a mess So please provide fly spray in every room that would help immensely.
Update… so am back home had to go to after hours surgery because mosquito bites infected. So staying the night at your hotel cost me a further $120
Am on antibiotics strong anti histamines.
So please again provide fly spray in all rooms so this is preventable.

I'm going to be generous here. Rang the faulty towers like owner when the air con heater wasn't pumping warm air. He said will kick in, in a few mins. Never did! Loved the Spa it was awesome! You just need to be quick as the plug self drains after 10 mins! But because we loved the spa so much and the bed and TV. We put up with wearing jackets inside. Im still going to give it 4 stars but I hope the managers dosen't have the heat pumps turned down to save $$.

A nice quiet apartment style hotel which is about ten minutes walk away from the city centre on Marine Parade. Fabulous views across the ocean and beach. Rooms are clean and modern if a little basic but the spa bath is a real treat! Simple but wholesome breakfast with great coffee, staff are friendly and helpful. Could do with a few more parking spaces but plenty of on street parking areas so no real problem. Wireless internet signal was weak in my room, even in other areas where the signal was stronger the speed wasn't much to write home about.

Went to restaurant for breakfast. Not enough staff. Most tables dirty. We sat at a dirty used table pushed all dirty plates aside. Think waiter was oblivious. No offer to wipe table down. After breakfast coffee order slow. Witnessed wrong orders going to wrong tables. Nice location. Bit like scene from faulty towers with manuel in charge. Probably wouldnt rush back. Shame as nice venue to take out of towners too.

A great place to stay. Rooms extremely comfortable with lovely spa bath. Fully equipped. Excellent restaurant with top rate food. Friendly and welcoming. Set with sea views.

I stay here often on Bussiness and find it a fantastic place to say. I have never found the noise to be an problem and the staff have always been friendly and helpful. They have great rooms which are very spacious and make you feel like your at home. This has been my first choice for accomadation for both myself, collegues and also customers. Would recommend it to any one.

Great view, great location, great people, great spa, great room great food Plenty of parking, couldn't hear street noise. Was a hit for our first anniversary get away.

Large rooms and central location. Well kept and clean with new appliances and heat pump. Car park was a bit crowded and cramped. Loved the bathroom with spa bath, large shower with quality fittings.

Traffic Nightmare. Be warned this place is terribly noisy and the front bedroom is situated way too close to the main road. Our kids were also kept awake by the headlights of cars at the back of the building, coming and going all night. I could not park close to our apartment had had to drag heavy bags across the carpark. We were all very tired at the end of our stay and could not wait to get outta there.

After much research for our wedding night in Napier, we choose The Nautilus. Decided on our room and we were prepared to pay top dollar. Wouln't take us for one night! What? turning away bussiness! It was for Labour weekend, so? what happens if they keep turning people away becasue they don't book for a min of 3 nights. Very upset. Will not be going back, we will spend our money elsewhere.
