Lift is damaged and not lining up with floors I tripped over 5 hours ago and reported it to management lift was allowed to run and now my younger daughter has tripped. Management again claimed they would look into it but haven’t shot the lift down. The place is simply dangerous stay clear.

Beautiful room, it has a microwave which is very rare in a city hotel. The room is very spacious and clean. The shopping precinct is just outside the door and the Sky Tower is just a short walk and that is where we are having dinner tonight.

Customer service is a key point of running a great business. We were here for a business meeting and stayed on to celebrate my birthday. To be summoned the service desk as they informed us one of us had not been charged. Spent a hour trying to rectify your mistake with all our receipts as your accounting didnt match. When it was your staff fault for over charging us in the first place. Then to be told later that it was sorted and no appology.
The young guy this morning had great service and your other staff could truly learn something from him. ps dont tell me they under charged us as they overcharged us from the beginning.

Terrible service, no accounting practice at reception, they’re trying to overcharge us $60 because of their incompetence.

The location is great but the hotel is dated and extremely noisy. There was a sewage smell in our apartment which they did clear the next day but we asked to changed rooms because after two nights of no sleep due to the noise we had had enough. New room was a little better. Beds in both rooms were absolutely terrible with springs exposing. The pillows need replacing. The guest washing machines didn't go so they let us use the machine in another room.
the staff eere great and helpful and gave us a breakfast voucher to cover the fact the our new room had no kitchen.
we wouldn't stay there again simply because of the noise and the terrible old beds. This place needs work.

Shit hole… torn up carpet, mold on the Windows and curtains, horrid couches with springs that prod you. 40 min wait after 2pm when we were told we can check in. Then offered a warm beer as a sorry…

The beds aren't too comfortable, and the rooms and decor are dated. Excellent location, but the parking space we were given does not fit a Carolla between the front and back lines. Staff were helpful and service was good. Rooms aren't greatly sound insulated, so can hear traffic clearly on the 14th floor. Overall, not bad given the location and price.

Family friendly. We stayed in a 3 bedroom apartment and made a booking on very short notice on a weekday. Staff are absolutely fabulous. Rooms were clean and linen was fresh. We really liked the fact that it was a fully furnished apartment including dishwasher, washing machine, dryer and kitchen facilities. Very handy to countdown supermarkey just a couple of shops down from the hotel. Handy to everything as it is right in the heart of the city. They also have a gym onsite and a restaurant which we didn't try (maybe next time).

Excellent location, only a minute or two walk to the Sky Tower. Nice clean room, dated decor, comfy bed, would recommend. If choosing this hotel ensure you understand how to exit & enter the hotel after hours.

Amazing location! It was right across the road of the Sky Tower and was easy to visit most of the attractions in Auckland. The room was simple like a college dorm but it was very clean and comfortable. Housekeeping did an awesome job. The only confusion was the form Housekeeping left stating they could provide housekeeping service until 4pm. If you have placed a do not disturb sign on the door, housekeeping will drop this form inviting you to call for housekeeping service till 4pm. If you do call, the front desk will tell you that housekeeping has left. When I asked front desk why they said housekeeping is only available until thd housekeeping staff finishes each day. The front desk wasnt even aware of what was stated on the form. I had to bring the form to the front desk before they agreed that the info on the form was incorrect. Front Desk staff were friendly and efficient.

Hotel was clean and tidy. As with all hotels, carpets and couches could do with a steam clean. Extra amenities in rooms were helpful. Gym is very minimal but able to provide the basics, although hours are limited due to being amongst guest rooms.

The check-in and out were flawless, friendly and fast. The room was OK. Slightly noise from the lift meant one of us had a sleepless start to the night. But the room was clean and tidy. It housed everything you need to stay for longer than the 1 night that we stayed. Breakfast was OK also. Not a huge selection of hot foods and some of the items were a little cold but was acceptable. Car park was tight for a ute sized vehicle but a smaller vehicle would be fine. Would stay again for a good rate.

Nice hotel downtown. Parking garage is tight. Don't forget about the main power switch located just inside the hotel door (this seems to be a power savings that shuts down all lights), there is a red handle that needs to be activated or else all your room lights will not work :).

The room is spacious, but the soundproofing is to be reviewed! We hear the discussions of the people in the next room! No Wi-Fi unlimited when booking a room, I was disappointed with this hotel, average home, and especially bad surprise when a fee of $200 were deducted from my card because there was a smell of cigarettes inside: the smell in question was a Butt in an empty package in the trash…

Not my favorite hotel. Didn't seem clean and I felt like I was surrounded by stale air. The garage was ridiculously cramped. Typical English breakfast provided.

Great place to stay. Beds were fantastic and breakfast was amazing. Overall good choice in Auckland as close to CBD.

The location is very good and the room is clean The noise is so bad, it's more noisy than the plane, I can't sleep at all, I regret to order here.

The hotel is clean and there is nothing wrong with the room. The main argument, however, is the situation. It makes it a great hotel to explore this beautiful city.

The only positive thing is its location in the heart of the city.
On the other hand the configuration of the hotel is atypical, no lounges to relax, at the reception it feels like to go to a shopping mall!
Our room certainly equipped with a fridge and air conditioning but these are so noisy that their use is impossible.
The outside noise is ubiquitous, not car noise, but a dull machine noise, blower?
The soundproofing is non-existent the nights are not very relaxing.
In contrast the bedding was comfortable.
There are hardly other recent hotels in the same perimeter. So don't hesitate.

Five stars because of the way the hotel refunded our stay because of continuous noise outside. The council noise control officers came and said they would serve a noise abatement order on the adjacent property but I guess these things take time. Anyway our accommodation was functional. Everything worked as expected. Our sitting room was enormous. Convenient and centrally located. I assume the noise problem was a one-off, so on balance recommended as a city centre stay.

Won't be returning I'm afraid. This hotel is no where near the quality I was expecting. The only thing it has going for it is the location.

Really nice rooms and a small garage on site if you're lucky enough to get a spot. The staff is nice as well. I'm glad we booked the breakfast buffet as well because they have pretty good eggs and pancakes. It's also a couple blocks from the coast.

The hotel has a decent location, near the sky tower, a pleasant walk from the harbour, a grocery store a couple of doors down, and several dining options within a half mile, including an epicurean establishment with many excellent choices inside. The first floor of rooms has an uneven floor in the hallway and the rooms because they are above the businesses below, and the street is on a fairly steep hill at that point. Our room was initially on that floor, and was weirdly shaped. Having recently stayed in an odd room, we asked for a more normal room, and got moved to the thirteenth floor or thereabouts. The room was pleasant, the Wi-Fi plentiful, and there were plenty of places to put our luggage, unlike the previous hotel we had stayed at in Sydney. The bed was decently comfortable, but for someone with back problems, it probably won't be the best. Some of the staff was very helpful; others must have been new. There appears to be an issue with homelessness or panhandling right in that area (there were always a few beggars around), but it may have also been related to the time of year.

As budget hotels go, this place is surprisingly OK. Ideal for a travelers or budget conscious busy trippers. I had room 412: a standard room on low floor, but a good size, with large comfortable bed. Bathroom also not small. The room is a bit dated and worn, but clean enough. A pleasant surprise was the kitchen sink, microwave, and basic flatware and cutlery. You don't usually get this in a standard hotel room. As someone who enjoys a bowl of cereal for supper, and a light breakfast, with a supermarket just next door, I was appreciative It's a middle point between a serviced apartments and hotel room. The view was terrible but you won't be looking out the window. The location is handy for everything. The iron didn't have any burns, TV was large, but I didn't turn it on. Towels and linen are standard and acceptable. Plenty of cupboard space. The air conditioning is quite old and noisy. I turned in on when I checked in, and went out for the evening. This meant I could turn it off before bed. A sensible traveler carries ear plugs anyway, which you may benefit from, due to the busy central location. The shower had a 15 minute limit on hot water, but I didn't notice. Central Auckland hotels can be quite bad, regardless of price. I'm surprised to say that I would stay again.

We have reserved a chamber for 3 (2 adults and 1 bb). The room was nice and clean. Plus we had a nice view on the Sky Tower. The breakfast was very good. Simon the most part of my family who go to NZ always has this hotel.

This is a standard Best Western. It's a bit dated, and you can tell by the sealant in the wall and window corners, and the mattress. However, staff were very friendly and helpful, the bed was still very comfortable (I had come off at 14 hour flight at 5:30AM and had to go out for a walk until check in at 2), and I was out like a light as soon as my head hit the pillow. Small fridge came with some creamer which was a pleasant surprise. They don't do that here in Canada. Breakfast is not included, but there is free Wi-Fi. I didn't drive in, but there's a sign at the front desk recommending to register with them early to guarantee a spot, otherwise you have to park elsewhere and pay, or something.

We were there overnight before we flew home. The rooms were comfortable the beds were too. It suited us. There were 8 of us. They had a scale to weigh our bags which was great. Some of us were over the limit before we got to the airport. Nice place.

Hotel was very nice. Location is fantastic. The only downside was the noise of the construction in the morning but that's not the hotels fault. Would recommend.

Friendly and helpful staff. We had corner unit, and had great view of Sky Tower on the next block. Next to Countdownn supermarket.

It was great staying this hotel for 4 days, and the receptionist were great. Seeing the city centre and SkyTower in the room was quite relaxing. The only one flaw is that our TV disconnected from the net.

We had a great time. Hotel central and staff were pleasant. Brendan helped solve an issue we had with transport hire and went out of his way. True gentleman.

The location is good as just walking distance from sky tree and reception is 24 hours open. Close to convenient store and Count down. Room wasn't spacious and parking lot is underground and too much hustle to park each time as parking space is so tight. Overall nice hotel though.

I love this hotel. The service was really good. All the staffs were very helpful and nice. The greatest this is the location. Just few minutes away from Auckland tower, from shopping district (Queen Street) and also few minutes walking away from so many halal restaurants. Btw I stayed at this hotel during my honeymoon and the hotel gave us 2 bottles of free champagne but since we are muslim and cannot take alcohol, they took back the champagnes then they sent a box of forrero rocher chocolate with red rosesto our room. Thank u very much President Hotel Auckland.

Great location. Rooms are a bit small but very comfortable. Freindly staff.

Great service, friendly and helpful staff, small studio with tiny bathroom, adequate for one night stop over, convenient location and parking in basement.

Some staff are unfriendly and inconsiderate. Heaters in the room were not working. Staff refused to give extra bath mats to put in the bathroom as the room was quite cold.

Very good hotel right next to the Sky tower.

BW PRESIDENT HOTEL is nicely located in the Auckland CBD, near Sky City, the Tower, and more. The Rail Transit construction project currently impacts the entrance, but location is really good. The Hotel itself is quite OK, with restaurant and other eateries close at hand. It was good to find a BW property in Central Auckland.

Great location and helpful staff. We didn't get much sleep on Saturday night due to the street noise, but we guess it's to be expected in the downtown city! Very clean and spacious, would stay here again.

The experience was satisfactory. Hotel reception was friendly and patient. Everything seemed clean and tidy, although a little dated. Located in a convenient place in the middle of the cbd. We chose it because it was cheap, but it's very basic. No shampoo/body wash/conditioner/lotion/slippers offered. The beds were unbelievably soft! As soon as you sat down, you sank immediately to the mattress base, as if the mattress itself had no springs. Fortunately we were staying in a three bed room, and my friends were generous enough to give me the relatively more firm bed. It was a little misleading on the booking web site though as it advertised three twin beds but we got only one twin and the other two were super narrow singles. The room's carpet seems to be flea infested, I woke up with bites all over my body, but if you are the type to be unscathed after a night of sleeping with fleas, then it's suitable for you.

Visited as the Contiki group I had just left was staying there. Only facility I used was the bag storage, but staff were friendly and happy to help.

Good value for money — lots of in room facilities — even washing machine! Clean and tidy!

I think the only positive from this place is that it is in the city, but my room was next to the sling ball, on Victoria St W so I could hear everyone screaming when they were going up and down. On My second night I had to go on a walk because the door would not take my card and it took the clerc around 10min to come up and back down to reprogram the door. I am still chasing them as they have charged my credit card the $100 NZ deposit that was mean to be only a holding not a charge. In summary, find an other place to stay.

If you like, hotels where the staff are in a security compartment, where there is 15 minutes of hot water only in showers and a notice saying that after 15 minutes it will take 45 minutes for the water to heat and where you have notices in your room such as "we wish to inform you that on x date we will be installing. Video on demand… in order for this to be carried out we will require access to all guest rooms… between 10 and 5… if your room is on do not disturb we will still be entering the room as installation must be completed regardless". Then this is the hotel for you. As a proud New Zealander I am sorry our overseas guests have this sort of experience of New Zealand hospitality. Please be assured this is not typical.

The rooms have an outdated aesthetic and are worn. The Wi-Fi was slow and only lets you connect on one device. It has a good location however.

Horrible place, our family lasted 30 minutes there until leaving. Also had to pay a 'cancel fee'. False advertising about free Wi-Fi, no parking and very poor cleaning done to the room we were in.

The best part, its location. It really is close to everything and that's how it is priced 'cause that's where the pro's stop. I would call this a serviced apartment with dated little hotel rooms. Nothing is complimentary, no internet or parking and no room service. Would stay again but only on a deal at approx 60% of standard room cost and no vehicle to park.

We booked an apartment for five people. While there were five beds, there was cutlery and crockery for only four people. No bath plug, and organising a bath plug proved to be a mission. Sign up in the bathroom saying sufficient hot water for ONLY 15 minutes, which meant that we had to split bath and showers between the evening and the morning between members of our party, with two of us having to go without a shower. Not good when hotel is being used during a stopover between flights. Lounge cramped and uncomfortable. Bathroom very, very dated. Sleep proved to be impossible despite being on the 10th floor. Between the sounds of partying from the street below, fire engines intermittently during the night with sirens blaring, and alarms going off, we all only managed a fitful sleep. The last bit isn't the hotel's fault though. Good things about the hotel — the reception staff were very friendly despite appearing to be under some pressure. The bedrooms were nice and very clean, with crisp white sheets. If you are planning on visiting Sky City, the location is good. Value for money: If it had cost $100 less for the apartment, I would have been prepared to overlook all its failings, but at the price we paid, it was a waste of money. Wouldn't stay there again.

Barely enough room to walk around the bed, the pics on the website said there would be a separate area with couches and a TV but there was only one room with no couches. Shower was dated and falling apart. Terrain around the hotel was extremely hilly! San Francisco hilly. There was so much noise from the street (pubs, bungee ride/screaming across the street) that it was difficult to sleep. I don't blame this on the hotel but the window had a gap that you could almost fit your finger through. I think we were in the middle of china town.? There were a couple pros; location was nice-5 minute walk from Sky tower, the room was fairly clean and comfy beds. The kitchen area was fair. I wouldn't stay there again.

I called all over town looking for a nice place to stay at an affordable price. My partner found this site and we saved BIG TIME! Was able to use the extra $$$ saved on a nice place to eat. Thanks.
