We could have been partying all night but as we were in our room, we wanted to sleep and we could hear the sound of the box next door… We tried to find another room with the night receptionist… No way to change either… In the morning wanting to discuss it with the receptionist, he just sent us upset and said yes, yes, yes… In short, we paid without being able to sleep and without any possible compensation … To avoid at all costs!

Great place. A beautiful building ideally well placed.

This place should just shut its doors. The front-office staff are incompetent, inconsiderate and unhelpful. We booked a room in advance and stipulated that we have an 8-month old baby with us. They decided to allocate a room on the very top floor that had a long, narrow staircase with a tight corner in it, making it very hard to lug our stroller up (no lift access. ) Once we established how moronic this was, we went back down to reception and asked them to allocate a more suitable room. After what seemed like forever, they gave us a room on the ground floor (funnily enough, with all the other parent guests. ) No idea why they didn't do this in the first place. One (or more) of the staff there would have had to physically lift the baby bed up all those stairs and didn't once think how ridiculous this was and that it might have been smarter to book a ground floor room. Twice we had to ask for a baby bed to be delivered to the replacement room.
The room was average and was not cleaned to an acceptable standard. We chose a room with a double bed and received two single beds placed side-by-side. If one of us were to be unfortunate enough to roll over during the night, you'd end up falling through the gap and onto the floor; a thick layer of dust beneath the bed being the only thing to break your fall.
Breakfast was included, which is normally a real selling point, but good lord was this a letdown. Absolutely Inedible.

Great room and hotel in all. Stayed just for one night, but I had a great sleep and a comfy bed.

Rooms are ok, nothing special. The breakfast is the worst I've had in a hotel thus far. Literally everything was bland and not fresh. The receptionist refused to give me my room at first, even though I made the reservation with my card. There are much better options in Haarlem!

Slightly quirky location of the room: 3rd floor and have to go outside on roof to access it. Very reasonably priced though for a spacious room in center of Haarlem.

A very pleasant stay with everything you could reasonably want. Literally in the centre of town and a great base for sightseeing, food, drinks, etc.

Good hotel in Harlem in reasonable rate. It's in the middle of the the city near city center. Shop are around it, place is very happening. People use to move on street till midnight. Very clean and beautiful place. Almost all the shops are closed till 5 pm except restaurants near it. View from the hotel is very nice.

Do not stay here! Filthy dirty. Noisy. Staff doesn’t care at all. They act like they do but do nothing to fix your problems. The staff definitely communicates. As everyone, at the front desk knew what our situation was. That was at least 8 staff members, from thee different shifts. But no one cares! Not a family spot! 1. Dirty, wet men’s socks on the balcony when we checked in. 2. Bedding was dirty. Dirty footprints on the bedsheets. Which, I saw after pulling the comforter down, to put my 5 year old to bed. 3. Lipstick and make-up in the pillow. 4. Spoke to staff numerous times about the condition of the room. Kept hearing, “This never happens. ” “Absolutely, we will clean your room and replace all of the bedding. — dirty bedding from the previous evening were still sitting on the floor. 5. Bathroom was not cleaned, nor the room. 6. Night two abs we still have not heard from the manager. 7. Don’t go into the hotel laundry room. That made my fears even worse! Literally floor to ceiling mountains of dirty laundry. I could not tell dirty from clean. But in the very far back of the room was a small table with some clean towels and bedding… 8. Very noisy when the bars close. People were in hallway laughing, talking loudly, slamming doors for 30 min. If I can, I will leave pics. I will NEVER stay here again or recommend this place!

I've had my stay last weekend (room 150) and was, despite some negative reviews, positively surprised and super happy with my room and my stay. Spaceous, clean, with large closet, big mirror cabinet in the bathroom (you usually struggle to place your belongings…). Barrier-free shower. Room fitted with everything you needed. The room was quiet no matter the central position of the hotel. Friendly and helpful staff, cosy atmosphere. Some very small issues regarding room service had been directly cleared with the receptionist.
Haarlem is a beautiful place to be, and I'll be happy to return. Dankjewel!

Despite the excellent position, staff wasn’t so friendly. Our room was extremely hot, no air conditioning and only a small part of the window could be opened. We asked to change our room but it was not possible. The day after we asked again and the staff told us this time our room could be changed, but we should pay 25€ for room upgrade and cleaning. Breakfast expensive.

Simply a good, central hotel. Friendly staff, the room (I actually had an apartment) was fine. As the hotel is located in the city center, you may experience some noise from the nearby terraces, but it will become much quieter after midnight. I stayed at the hotel as I was attending a conference at the Vrije Universiteit, which is only a 20-minute bus ride away. Amsterdam Central Station is also only 15-20 minutes by train, which makes the hotel a good alternative for an overpriced hotel in Amsterdam itself.

Bad service! Prices changed according to how you book, I would say dishonest is to say little. The rooms are very small and not comfortable.

It's enough to Stay. Very centrally located. Unfortunately, the Rooms are not cleaned particularly neatly. The aging carpet Was not sucked before we moved in and during our Stay!

Spontaneously stayed there. The staff was really friendly, price was fair. Only thing was, that at breaktfast time they started telling us over and over again that breakfast was coming to an end. Felt uncomfortable then. Even tho it wasn't time then. Well. But still would recommend. Room was clean and basic, what you need was there.

We booked on Agoda for 2 nights and was offered a stinking room upon check in. The room was smelling like sewage and when asked for a change of room, they said they will clean this room as they were fully booked and we should remain in it. I did not agree to it as the smell was so bad. After consistently saying no to that room, they finally gave us another room. When we went inside the 2nd room, I saw used towels under the comforter. So seriously I would never come back to this hotel. No doubt the location is good but cleanliness is zero!.

Family Room a complete disaster! These are the stairs we need to literally climb to get to a family room with a person injured in a knee and two kids of 2 and 3. Booking description said it had a lift. They do but not to this part of the building. A complete lie.

The location is perfect. In front of the hotel is the main temple of Haarlem, the Church of St. Bawona, the largest Protestant church in the city.

Great atmosphere and location, rooms large but a little dated in aesthetic and furniture.

Family room very quiet and huge.

Friendly staff, basic but clean and very comfortable. Nice quiet hotel Inthe heart of Haarlem City surrounded by amazing bars and restaurants with a chilled out feel. 10 minute walk from Haarlem train station (20 minutes to Amsterdam Central and 30 minutes to Airport). Within walking distance to some of the must-see sights.

Very basic but well located and great value.

Pretty nice hotel, in excellent location. Room was clean and bed quite comfortable. Staying right near a clock tower so be prepared to hear bells ring on every hour and half hour through the night. Staff were friendly, check in and out was no fuss at all and it's an easy walk to the train station. Harleem is an amazing location, so close to Amsterdam city (15 mins by train) but completely out of the chaos. Great shopping available right nearby also.

Extremely good location. An older building, but pretty well renovated. The staff speak English pretty well and are quite nice (for being Dutch, I guess). Hotel was clean and breakfast ok. The elevator was kind of finicky, so prepare to walk stairs. The cathedral nearby has bells that night wake you up.

This hotel has max. A three-star hotel standard. We had an apartment — quite old already. I think a painting is necessary. Overall, the small details are missing. We didn't plan to have breakfast! You can get better in the place.
For the price, the hotel is in a convenient location, which, however, with an expensive car park just outside again loses the charm.
You should look at the rooms carefully. The images on the net certainly deceive.
Unfortunately, the management did not respond to our desire to postpone due to illness. We had 2 apartments and we decided to use the heating.

Location was absolutely fantastic. We were right in the heart of the city and even had a view of the Grote Kerk. The room was great. Super clean and comfortable. And the staff was helpful in making sure we were all set up and good. They also had our room ready early so we could store our bags before hitting the town.

I consider photos on the net to be unreal — but for a three star hotel quite ok. Please clarify the parking situation before departure. There are only expensive permanent parking spaces nearby.

Not too top on the first floor as many of the restaurants, so too much noise. If not it was nice.

All right. Rooms are clean, service is good and the hotel has a unique character!

The hotel is totally centrally located. The rooms are relatively large and very cozy. Everything makes a clean and neat impression. Also the staff is very friendly and uncomplicated. At the reception the staff speaks even German.
The only downside is parking. But this problem is almost everywhere in the Netherlands. Parking is very expensive here (4-6 € per hour), only on Sundays you can park for free. Moreover, the car does not come to the city centre and not to the hotel. However, the hotel offers a very cheap taxi pick-up service so you can park your car for free on the parking and ride parking lot and be taken to the hotel for 7, €50.

Clean and well placed hotel in the shade of the Great Church St Bavo, close to the big square.

Very convenient location and price.

Quiet and central hotel, cosy, clean and well equipped. Large bathroom with rain forest shower. Tea and coffee for noisy, small selection of toiletries in the bathroom.
The prices are (in February) affordable. A 7-minute walk in the Raaks parking garage (€25 for Sat. 11:30 — Sunday 10:30) is relatively inexpensive.
All you have to do is chime in front of the house. So, if necessary, take ear plugs.

The hotel has the advantage of being very well located in the heart of Haarlem. The bell and the dings of the cathedral that ring during the night are a little disturbing. It was a very nice place to be in.
The Wi-Fi connection is not the best either. Staff not very smiling.

Centrally located and within walking distance of all the major attractions of Haarlem. Comfortable and well clean rooms, good service. Breakfast good but not excellent. Recommended.

Great City, perfect location in the centre of Beautiful Haarlem. Easy 20 min bus or train ride from Amsterdam central. Amazing restaurants right outside the hotel to cater for all tastes. Bars and coffee shops in walking distance, comfortable, friendly nightlife all together. View was magnificent from our top floor front facing, spacious room. Comfy beds, great bathroom facilities. Large TV and plenty of wardrobe space for two. We will be back in four months for another visit during Halloween, can't wait! Thank you for a wonderful stay. (Make sure you visit Jopen, the Brewery/Restaurant/Beer hall. Its Magnificent, best meal I had on my stay. You'll thank me later. )

Beautiful lobby with fantastic clocks! Great staff and lots of good restaurants nearby.

No frills hotel in a great location with a very reasonable price. Bed was very comfortable. Staff was friendly. Easy walk from station. Or, €8, 50 taxi if you have a lot of luggage you don't want to haul. I would return again. Note: Breakfast was offered, and it looked nice. I did not partake, so I can't comment.

Nice little hotel/motel. It's right in the City Centre of Haarlem. Mostly local people, young one, seems like they have party all the time in summer. Everyone are just drinking and seat outside of restaurants. Love it!
