Great service and friendly staff. Big room with a great bed, bath and shower. And, keeping the best for last, an amazing bar/restaurant.

Nice hotel with ok rooms and a good bar area. Visited during World Cup and was not a problem to see the games in the bar.

I had a great time in this hotel. Very unique style, good food, I'd love to go back one day.

Great located hotel. Parking is possible in the lot under the hotel (extra fee). Rooms could be in a better shape (damagee wallpapers), but extraordinary clean (including bath) and with a free complimentary bar.

Very comfortable great location. Food and drink good but a little pricey.

What struck me most was the kindness of all the staff. I was always greeted and at the entrance there was always a fresh water with lemons and basil. There was even sparkling wine on the bank holiday. All free. The rooms could be more up-to-date and unfortunately there was no power outlet in the vault so that you can load your mobile phone even in case of absence. The TV is also not up-to-date, so you can't connect to your smartphone to watch Netflix, for example. The bathroom and the room was always clean and impeccable. The location on the edge of the centre was perfect for being able to reach everything on foot. Bicycles can also be rented here on a day-by-day basis. I highly recommend this hotel.

Nice hotel with good amenities. Very close to the city centre. From the train station quite far but 20 minutes by bus and 5 minutes walk.

Good staff, clean, nice decorations, and 5 minutes walk to good cafes. Happy to have been there.

(+) Both choice and authentic, it offers a rather warm setting in a somewhat seaside atmosphere. The bar in the hotel is very cosy. Room service with a wide choice without service fee. Small fridge and work at disposal. Rooms extremely clean and quality bedding.
(-) Breakfast on site quite expensive (€20) does not have a toothbrush and small spare brush. A bed cover would have been appreciable.

Lovely hotel in a great area for shopping eating and drinking. Rooms are good size staff friendly and welcoming.

Hotel is both typical and clean. The rooms are suitable for a professional stay. The restaurant is quite decent. Very friendly staff.

The hotel is great, the staff are polite, friendly! Despite the fact that the window blew in the room was very warm — it was at this time the weather in Amsterdam was very cold and windy (old-timers assure that such cold was not 20 years)! Breakfast is dense, dessert is great, watermelons are sweeter than we sell! In general — I recommend!

Just got back to england from holland. As always we stay at carlton square. As always the best most friendly amazing hotel. Home from home. Love the place. Have been going there for years and is still and always will be my favourite.

This was my favorite hotel if my whole vacation. Very friendly hotel staff and not pretentious at all. When checking in, I asked if where the best place to park the car would be, and the receptionist let me know of a street with free parking all the locals seem to use. The hotel restaurant is also decent, with non guests eating there.

Carlton Square Hotel offers excellent service in a quiet side of Haarlem, 10min walk from the city centre. All service is top, including room furnishings and downstairs Italian restaurant, open all day. Very cozy as a brunch place for lazy weekends, as well! For a 5 day stay, I got complimentary gin, cognac, soft drinks and chocolates unlimited!

Better accommodation in the Netherlands would be extremely hard to find. Friendly, professional staff, exemplary service and convenient location make this the essential place to stay when in Haarlem. This is our 4th year in a row and it is even better than the last one.

Great hotel with a great restaurant. A short walk from the square in Haarlem. It's well placed, friendly and a nice place to stay. Have now stayed here 10 or more times this year. It is that good!

Stayed on business for 2 nights. Small issue with my room was quickly resolved and I was moved. The food in the hotel is excellent. Would like to come back on a personal trip. Highly recommended.

Basic hotel that serves its purpose. Friendly staff and reasonable value for money. I don't understand though how they've managed to get such high ratings on various booking and review sites.

This is a wonderful, stylish and clean hotel. Thy have an amazing buffet every morning. Lunch is also great and their bar specializes in whisky. The room was huge, much larger than I expect in Europe. The bathroom was nicely appointed and the decor was modern. Everything was immaculate. I'd stay here again.

The Carlton Square hotel is located at a very convenient spot which provides ease of access to the train and bus stations, shopping streets. The highlight of this place is the lively restaurant and the friendly and attentive staff they have here. The rooms are warm and cozy with nice and clean bathrooms. All in all this place has its own charm and definitely true value for money.

The rooms are a little dated but clean and comfortable. The staff are amazing and always happy to help. It's a lovely place to stay and Amsterdam is a short train ride. It's fab!

Always an excellent service and the staff are always eager to help. The new restaurant is very good, the food is excellent. The rooms are cosy and tick all the boxes, such as a window that opens, kettle and fridge in the room, good shower. Harlem is a great little town close to Amsterdam. There are some lovely walks along the canals too.

Very friendly and well placed hotel. Close to the city center. Restaurant very good also. Breakfasts offer a lot of choices. Room clean and not tiny. To do without hesitation. To avoid large parking fines it is better to park before the bridge and walk 5 minutes:-) very very nice city. We hope to return soon enough.

Nice place, a bit pricey, but would recommend this to anyone looking for a good room with friendly Service.

I'm not sure how this hotel is a 4 star hotel. Each and every room I have stayed in seems to have something wrong with it. I have stayed here for many weeks on business and have been given no upgrades or room credits of any kind. Also most of the front desk clerks are not polite and very unhelpful. If you are a business traveler at least find a place that will give you some kind of rewards for your business. And that actually appreciates your business.
