Good location. Clean rooms but small.

Thoughtful, Efficient, and friendly staff!

We booked room as per photo on website for standard room with 2 queen beds. We were allocated a room upon check in with a double bed and much smaller than what we booked and paid for. When I went to show the Manager on duty — Manzu — the photo on the confirmation of our booking, I was told that she had been shown that photo 100 times, and said that the room in the photo does not exist at this hotel! Manzu was rude, and her customer service was non existentI. Don’t book at this hotel and expect to receive the room you see on the website. This is false advertising.

Location in the city center, cleanliness of the rooms, attentive staff and very hearty breakfast, thank you.

Beautiful location, you can walk without needing public transport, breakfast good and plentiful, however the rooms leave much to be desired in the housework is not done all day! Room dirty towels and bed sheets not changed in 3 days when the home cannot be understood person speaks French! Result hotel very average I do not recommend.

The cleaning staff stole my money from my room, they looked inside my personal bag!
Although the hotel staff saw that the only one who came in to the room was the cleaning service, they did nothing to help me.

Great service, convenient to everything. Be mindful that you must climb 2 flights of stairs at the entrance. There is no curbside service. The rooms are very clean and modern. The breakfast buffet was very good with a large selection.

Convenient location, very pleasant & helpful staff, good breakfast buffet. We were upgraded to a room with a view of the canal for just a few more dollars & it’s well worth it! To look out the window at night & early in the morning, watching the cruising boats & just watching the hustle of the centre is an experience in itself.
But I guess the most important experience I have with this hotel is the assistance they gave me for my sprained ankle. My hubby went to the reception to see if they can spare some ice. He was given a medium size bag of ice & said if I needed more we just have to call & they will bring more to the room! Now that’s how service & customer relations should be!
I’d highly recommend this hotel to anyone who’d like to be near the very center of activities & a very good, helpful staff!

Great location in a nice part of city center with lot of coffee shops and restaurants around. Great helpful and professional staff at your service all the time. We needed more bathroom toiletries and a towel and they brought it in a minute, never had experience such a rapid service. Breakfast is almost at 5* level, excellent. I would definitely recommend.

Where do we start with this hotel, maybe to continue the trend of the other poor reviews. First of all trust nothing you see online (or through Booking dot com). You will not receive a bath if it is ticked. You will not receive the size of the room. And asking for a double bed or two single bed does not guarantee either. Next up we have the staff, arrogant to put it lightly. They will shift blame to everyone but themselves. When my fridge broke and my room wasn't serviced, I …was told (at 4pm) sorry maintenance and housekeeping don't work on these days. I was also told we definitely left the do not disturb sign on. We were also told that we aren't actually allowed to use the (broken) fridge to store baby but they will make an exception. After numerous unanswered emails and complaints, I was told I was in the wrong! Anyway, avoid it like the plague if you'd like to enjoy your stay. MS.

I stayed at the NH City Centre Amsterdam for 4 days and the location and hotel were absolutely perfect Firstly — it's the only hotel I've ever stayed in where the rooms are so quiet you don't hear a single person walking past your room despite being busy throughout. It meant that once you arrived back at the hotel you had an absolutely perfect nights sleep Secondly — it's so close to everything you could ever want to visit in Amsterdam. Walking distance from Dam Square and the Musuem Quarter as well as the famous Red Light District Thirdly — We only stayed for bed and breakfast, but the breakfast was great each morning and plenty of selections for vegans 100% recommended.

Little bit pricy but good hotel in a very good location in the city. But the staff is wonderful. The food is great (breakfast buffet). Better than most in Europe. All the staff is great especially the housekeeping staff and the breakfast employees. To be specific Sri. She was amazing.

The bed was a bit hard, and the room was very cold, which normally would have been welcomed when it's 30 degrees outside. But traveling with a three month old, 17 degrees Celsius gets a bit too chilly when hanging in the room. However, the staff was great and very service oriented. They provided us with an extra heater in the room when we "complained" about the thermostat not working. We were also changed to a slightly larger room (same type, only bigger) when checking in since we needed a traveling cot in our room. The location is also great. A few blocks one way you got your touristy shopping district with the same shops your find in most large European cities. If you head in the opposite direction when leaving the hotel you got the charming nine streets with lovely canals and quirky boutiques. Would definitely stay there again.

Great location. Friendly and very helpful staff. Our room had 2 twin beds and was very tiny, but very clean… a plus. Hotel is located in central downtown. Can easily catch trains to museums and other places. Lots to do within walking distance.

Really enjoyed our stay! Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The location was great and centrally located to everything we needed! We would definitely stay again and recommend it to friends and family. Maida (spelling may be incorrect) in Guest Services, went above and beyond to help us. She was such a sweet lady. Only complaint was the half shower door, the floor was consistently wet! Other than that, we truly enjoyed our stay :-)!

Staff was nice and helpful, the view of the canal was fantastic, the location was amazing. The bathroom left a lot to be desired, the room was tiny (it's Amsterdam though so…) and the bed was haaaard and uncomfortable. My wife called to go over details with staff before booking the room and booked the room as they recommended to get the room and amenities that we most desired. We were unfortunately surprised when we checked into a room that barely resembled what we were expecting. The staff tried to change our room to something more in line of what we thought we had booked, but were unfortunately fully booked. That was a bummer. The bathroom was very small, and the shower was poorly designed in that it left water all over the floor at the conclusion of a shower — it was only half enclosed. The beds were very very firm and not incredibly comfortable. The staff did send up an extra duvet to help cushion the mattress … but it was only a duvet, and a thin one at that. The location, and view were just fantastic though. Very centrally located to tour around the town, lots of great restaurants and shops etc in the immediate vicinity, and so charming. The hallway lighting was pretty fab as well. Overall we had an enjoyable time, and if the situation called for it, I would certainly stay there again. My wife might need a little convincing.

The hotel itself is quite nice for the location and the surroundings, however 33% of the rooms lack a very good view and at points feel a little cramped because of the lack of colour used in decorating. The rooms are very clean though and the staff is very helpful. The bar has a good selection of things, but the bar is very hit and miss about when it is being operated. Room service was good. You’re really paying for the location when staying here, which is ideal. You are 5 minutes walk from almost anything.

Expensive hotel and staff not efficient. They even missed the assignment of the room. In addition, the road in which it is located is unsafe in the evening. For the rest, excellent interiors.

Most of the staff speak Spanish, the situation is ideal for getting to know the centre of Amsterdam, as well as being able to enjoy a view of the canal at the back of the hotel, both from the rooms and from the small snack area of the hotel, located just Behind reception, an area worth knowing and enjoying.

The only good thing, the location. They do not clean the room, they do not replace the ASRO accessories, the towels have broken. The beds are narrowly remasad. The room was poorly distributed. The entrance stairs to the hotel as all the central Amsterdam, very steep and the "ASCENPR" of the street does not work.

Good medium sized hotel, recently renovated, good location in a relatively quiet street five minutes walk from Dam Square on one side and the flowers market on the other. Good breakfast and helpful staff. Reasonable prices.

This hotel is Fantastic, perfect location with everything we needed not far away. The whole hotel was clean and bright. The room was just what we was required. Well stocked and well kept. The little things like the middle of the mirror had some sort of anti steam bit so you could see into it after you’d had a shower. So well thought out. The staff extremely helpful. Guest relations were good to give advice on where to go and where to book trips etc. Never tried the food as we ate out but other guests told us the selection was great. A lovely Hotel in a lovely city. Without a doubt 5 stars! Couldn’t recommend enough!

We loved this hotel, clean and modern. The food of the bar quite well, the waitresses friendly, the service very well, cleaned the rooms fast, went in winter, had heating, the room facing the canal, we had everything very close. We loved Amsterdam and would definitely go back. Very recommended the hotel, service and food, you feel like at home. Good atmosphere and quiet, there were no noises and we rested well. Thank you.

We checked in on 8 of March for 4 days. Wasn’t expect It to be so perfect. The rooms are so modern and beautiful the bed is a dream! And the shower is very spoiling. The crew are so welcoming and ready to help with anything you’ll just ask for. Beside all that the location is the best! Very close to everything that really matters in Amsterdam. Will definitely go there again no doubt! Thank you for the hospitality.

Good location, very good breakfast, the reception service leaves a lot to be desired. They tried to give us a smaller room than we had ordered, and apparently they do it often because I have heard the same from other people, it's a shame because the rest is very good.

Great. In the middle of the city, the location behind Dam Square is very convenient and very close to the main attractions. The rooms are very clean and quiet. On our arrival we had a bad surprise (dirty sheets…) But it can happen: we communicated the thing in reception and they immediately proceeded to move us to another room, even more spacious and beautiful. Very friendly and professional staff. Amazing breakfast: There was a world available to guests! We were more than satisfied with our choice, when we return we will definitely stay here.

The hotel is in the center, at the reception you speak only English, the rooms are quite large and new the bathrooms clean. The breakfast is international and of good quality. The staff were very helpful.

Just got home after a 3 night stay here for my boyfriends birthday and couldn’t have wished for a better place to stay! The hotel is modern, stylish and very clean and the staff do all they can to make your stay enjoyable. It’s in a perfect location, we didn’t need to use public transport at all, we even walked to central station on the last day which is just a 20minute walk. We will definitely be coming back — thank you!

I loved our stay at the NH City Center in Amsterdam. The convenient location was near public transportation (the trams and the train station), the red light district, the Jordaan neighborhood, and the museum district. The rooms were spacious (even by non-European standards), clean, and modernly designed. The staff was also very friendly to us and was able to check us in early. We truly enjoyed our stay, and would recommend this hotel to anyone who wanted to experience the variety of Amsterdam!

NH City Center is conveniently located, easily reachable by foot the most interesting areas of the city.
Standard comfortable but small size room. Excellent and rich breakfast both sweet and savory. The staff was very helpful.

Friendly greeting from the staff. All the staff were extremely helpful during our stay. Room was large and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast is an all you can eat, self service type but there are staff around to help if needed. The location is great for visiting Amsterdam. It's really easy to get to from Central station; literally a 10 to 15 minute walk.

Lovely hotel. Staff are friendly, great location and very reasonable price especially when comparing to typical capital city pricing. Nice modern feel to Rome also. In a room at front of building, and noise hasn't been an issue for me. Didn't make it to brekkie this morning, but hopefully will try it tomorrow. Would stay again.

Beautiful Hotel! Breakfast varied and well cared for with international food! Rooms with linear and clear furnishings are in the Nordic style! Essential view of the canal and typical houses! We had a great time my husband and I! To recommend!

A convenient low-cost hotel close to the city centre.

Hotel well located, close to the dam, red light district etc, from the hotel on foot we were able to visit much of Amsterdam. Good reception, helpful staff and attentive, ecxellents breakfasts with choice. Comfortable room, well maintained.

The NH City Center is just that, centrally located. Only a block from Dam Square, this is a location in the heart of the city. The Spui tram station is a 30 second walk from the front door which gives you quick access to the 1, 2, and 5 lines. The hotel itself is clean, has good sized rooms (for Europe) with large windows that look out over the Singel Canal on one side and over Spuistraat's beautiful Amsterdam architecture on the other. There is also a cool 4-person room with a roof deck overlooking the city. I have stayed at the NH City Center 4 four times and not been disappointed.

Situation spot on and lovely view of canal from room on ground floor. Room was large, comfy bed but not cost. Friends 'basic' room on 5th floor was tiny and would have made me claustrophobic. Staff very good and very friendly. Cleanliness of communal areas poor.

Very… very old building with very annoying stairs to get in and out especially with. Suitcases but you should recognize that all the interior remodeled with very good quality and comfort although some very small rooms.

Very well maintained and in the centre of Amsterdam. So centrally that you could even do without taking the tram. With 10 minutes you can get literally anywhere. The staff was very helpful Clean rooms, very comfortable beds also in standard and small but great bathroom (large shower and good shower).
If I have to go back to Amsterdam it will definitely be the hotel in which Soggiorneró.

Just arrived back from my birthday weekend In Amsterdam, it was perfect the hotel was so modern inside and up to date. My partner informed the hotel that it was my birthday too and they surprised me with a card, wine a free bottle of water, a Amsterdam magnet With some balloons for the room. The only down fall I would have is the maid service for the room, we went out a different times and left the notice on the door to make up the room, but all through our stay it was never seen to. Apart from that… the staff are so welcoming and can’t do enough for you it’s a brilliant hotel and will definitely be stopping again when we go next year!

Awful! €220 a night for this box 'superior' room. Who are they kidding? Room service finishes at 8pm. I arrived and a guest was going into insulin shock and the reception staff didn't care! I would never recommend that anyone stay here. Awful!

Do ' 4 stars because we were allocated the room for disabled, in the bathroom were missing both the towel rack and the door objects and the shower cubicle, this caused the enlargement of the bathroom every time you shower;; The pros are the cleanliness, the breakfast varied and rich and the location of the hotel in the center near the tram stop.

Good service. Everyone spoke good English so good for international guests. Somewhat hard beds but that is pretty much the only flaw I can mark.

Elegant and clean, nice rooms, great downtown location with restaurants, coffeshop and bike rental nearby. Not 5 stars just for the non-current socket next to the bedside table to charge the phone!

Lovely hotel room was not massive but served a purpose. Very clean and in a great location for everything in Amsterdam. One side of the hotel overlooks a quite quiet road and the back of the hotel overlooks the very scenic canal. Would definitely stay here again.

Lovely and spotlessly clean. Perfect location to walk to all of the tourist spots. Lots of lovely bars and restaurants in the near locality. Only thing there was no wfi access but I would recommend anyone to stay here.

— Avoid dairy products and fruit juices at breakfast (on-demand omelets). Frozen apple pie?!
— Problem with magnetic cards and poorly tuned staff

Nothing beats a good hotel stay with staffs that are accommodating and courteous, after all that is the reason why it is called hospitality… In this hotel, they truly value that. They will make sure that you will have a superb stay! The room I stayed in is cute but it has all the you will need — functional amenities, good Wi-Fi and a clean cute bathroom If there is one thing that I will suggest for this hotel to consider is the lack of power outlet beside the bed… you will be forced to play with your gadget near the TV. But overall, I highly recommend this hotel as it is literally in the center of everything — good shops, restaurants and notable landmarks plus they really have nice staffs!

The staff were very helpful and the room was very clean. Located a stone's throw from the flower market, the strength of this hotel is certainly its central location in relation to all the attractions of Amsterdam. Not far away there is a bike rental equipped even for the little ones.

Stayed in the quadruple room with 2 double beds. The room was very spacious but the layout was a little odd, with a big pillar right at the center of the room. Breakfast was good. Staff were attentive to details and were friendly with the kids. Location was good, with a tram station 3 minutes away on foot. We took a slow and easy stroll and reached the central station in about 20 min. Not giving it a 5 star because of a minor incident. The room was not made up when we were back after 4pm. We were out since 9am in the morning with the tag hanging at the door requesting for housekeeping. They requested us to come back after 5 but we told them the kids were tired and needed the room to rest before heading out for dinner. After some negotiations, they made us wait for 30min at the lobby and got the room cleaned.

Room was smelly & dark. Staff weren't the best either. Had to change rooms. Cost a fortune and not worth it.

Great location for shopping and tourist sights, hotel homely, reasonably priced and some great restaurants right by the hotel. Hotel staff let us down on the transfer to Centraal station. But that was only negative.

In September, during IBC 2014, stayed here. The room was very small and cramped, but horende in the price. Time-consuming and annoying — in and check-out. The situation, however, is for the fair (RAI) and also for the beer afterwards okay.

If it would not have been for its price I would be more happy about the whole experience. Decor is quite dated and sometimes quite weird, although hotel is kept very clean. Rooms are standard, without any luxuries and with a strange shaped toilets. Best thing about the hotel is its location.

Room is very small, Hotel is advertised with INTERNET FREE! WLAN is offered for FREE, BUT IS EXTREMELY SLOW (unusable for most applications). If you want it to be faster (usable) you are FORCED TO PAY for it.

Drab, dowdy, dull. Decor in this hotel is woeful. From the unwelcoming brown and cream reception it gets worse. Rooms are small and badly designed, requiring us to squeeze around a large table to get to the cupboard. Flooring was cheap laminate. Beds were uncomfortable and itchy. The window from the rooms looks in to a central closed area, surrounded by other rooms. We could not see the sky from our window. This hotel is not cheap, but it is nasty. Only it's decent location makes it worth even cursory consideration. Also, unfortunately despite being able to tidy a room, service cannot replace tea bags (roibos on the first night, never seen again) or understand the difference between coffee and decaf. Creamer was there one day, gone the next. Like Brigadoon ffs. A joke of a hotel. Please go bust. Also — the bottles of water in the room are the 'mini-bar' but you will find no info as to this in your room info folder, nor details on the price, which is left out beside the kettle and instant coffee leading any reasonable person to assume it is complementary. You will then be scammed for drinking this water upon checkout. A cheap shot by NH hotels.

I was appalled by the hotel. Upon entering, we asked for help with our luggage as there was a steep flight of stairs and no ramp! A woman came and lifted a bag and told us to get the rest ourselves. The lobby looked like a hostel. The bathrooms were dirty. There were 2 weird massage chairs that looked like they belonged in a nail salon. Creepy. We didn't even wait to see the room. We immediately changed hotels to NH Centre Amsterdam which was a pleasure. Thank goodness for that at least.

The fairly small money.

The room was noisy, both street sounds and neighbor sounds were perfectly audible through the paper thin walls. The location itself is great, and that's about the only positive thing that keeps me from giving it a one star rating. The wireless internet was my biggest problem. When a hotel advertises Wi-Fi that is included in the price, I expect it to work. The Swisscom system they have installed is absolutely atrocious, I could barely get it to work after a good 15 minutes of following instructions. Then it just barely worked that evening and not at all for the rest of my stay. Even when it did work it was extremely poor quality, barely enough for email, definitely not enough for normal web browsing, let alone streaming music or video. If internet is important for your stay then this should be a deal breaker.

Some rooms leave much to be desired. Other, not are wrong. There is no air conditioning, so in summer are very warm. Wi-Fi is slow. However the hotel has very good location and the staff is attentive and willing to solve any problem. It is a three stars, but the rest of Europe, not of Spain level.

I love really recommend it 1000 x 1000.
