Not bad. Good value although the beds were kind of thin and easy to fall out of if you move around a lot in your sleep. Greek receptionist was rude but wouldn’t stop me coming back if the price was right. Road parking spaces also very thin, maybe that’s how they like things in Amsterdam.

Hôtel bien placé, extérieur accueillant. Cependant la chambre (deux lits jumeaux) n'est pas à la hauteur du prix payé (70 euros par nuit). Pas de climatisation, pas de fenêtre (seulement une fenêtre au toit ouvrable avec une tige en métal à tourner), donc pas d'aération. La chambre est extrêmement petite, les lits également, et les draps ne sont pas extrêmement propres. La douche est sur le palier (ce qui était prévu donc pas d'étonnement), elle est petite mais en bon état et propre.

The value for money at this Hotel is a really good thing in my opinion! The Rooms were cleaned every Day, the Staff was totally nice and the Room was full of oke for this Price. Even from the Cleanliness there was nothing to complain about!

Dirty and small rooms. But not expensive.

I stayed for one night and I would not stay anymore, all the staff very friendly I can not deny but but the room somewhat uncomfortable especially the bed that is very small, when you deliver the room smells a lot to flavoring and when it is removed starts to smell weird, as I said for one night is fine but for more no longer.

Price/quality of the best in the city. It has good location and communication.

I give this a 5 because of the price. Easy to get to from train station no need to get a tram about 35 minutes walk into main town you can't go wrong one of the cheapest rooms you can get I don't no why it's a really nice hotel very quiet no main roads showers are nice and hot nice and cosy. I stayed there from the Thurs till the Monday.

Quiet at night, cosy rooms, very basic but ideal for traveling on a budget! Is rather far out from the centre.

Never been to a dirtier hotel! Crappy sheets and pillowcases, not to mention the room, in the shower there was still a used bubble bath, I do not add more!

It's convenience place to stay.

You look like you're home. All the hotel staff have treated us very well. I liked it very much and if I come again I will try to come to this same hotel. Thank you all for being so kind.

Avoid. You can't bring anything into your room otherwise you'll have mice rummaging around in your stuff. When the staff were told my girlfriend got a shrug and a 'Don't have food in the room? ' answer. Rooms are good for the price (beyond the mice. ) and shower facilities are decent in en suites. Overall cleanliness could be improved massively as could a lot of things.

Basic, shabby with a ridiculously small bathroom with badly placed sink and shelves but it was clean. Female receptionist was unfriendly and unhelpful, asking for adequate tea ingredients is not advised.

I was pleased with this hotel. It is good value for money. Spent two evenings here, nice neighbourhood. Furthermore, the receptionist was super helpful and very welcoming. I do recommend the place.

Sparse, small rooms. VERY small. Sharing a small single bathroom down the hall isn't fun. Spiral stairs are pretty dangerous, especially with luggage in tow. Zero stars so far. However, it is clean and the staff are as friendly and accommodating as could possibly be. Two stars credited to the staff.

A little small but the location is quite good pprque you have the Trambia about 200m and you would have to take the Trambia number 4 which is the best option because it takes you to the Centrl station but the service of the hotel has not seemed very buen9

Good reception, but the rooms really too small, bathroom and WC on the doorstep too cramped, decent breakfast. Quiet area and hotel not far from the tram station!

Basic but clean hotel. Situated in a quiet residential area a few minutes walk from the number 4 tram line, which is about 40 minutes from Dam square and Centraal station. 24 hour reception and great staff. Rooms have sinks and TVs, along with kettles and a selection of coffee, but showers and toilets are shared on each floor (I think 3 toilets and 2 showers between just over 20 rooms in total). Beds have poor mattresses, but are fine for a few nights sleep. Perfect cheap hotel as a base for exploring the city, however not a room you'll want to spend much time in outside of sleeping and getting ready.

The staff is very helpful, location is okay for the price but the rooms were very small.

The rooms were clean but very small. I mean VERY small. Four of is were put in a 10 M2 rooms. The breakfast is tasty and plentifull, but nothing special. The staff was nice and helpful.

The price is the same, not the nicest, not the cleanest but you get in the city nicely…

Quiet place don't waste money on the breakfast though it's barely sandwich toppings not worth the price venture into town for great prices and better food within walking distance rooms were ok of you were only sleeping there. But overall good service and friendly people.

Hotel is decent, a bit small, but decent for the price. Got moved rooms and wish the bathroom was as big as my original room, other than that it's all good.

Great place to stay as you explore this incredible city. Small rooms but who cares? Clean, good staff and you can rent bikes for about 12 euro per day. Would stay here again.

The room (and bathroom) we got was a lot smaller than the picture showed. But everything seemed clean, decent bed, not too hard to find.

You can't rate a place without factoring in the cost. Don't expect 5 or even 4 star treatment at a super budget hotel. For Amsterdam, for the cheapest rooms around at like $70, it's a very good value.

This place is acceptable compared to the price of the nights. Do not expect luxury — very poorly insulated building and cardboard walls. Any noise escaping from a neighbouring room, from the hallway or from the outside is understood.
However: quality equipment and linens, clean room (although a little narrow for 4 people), very decent bathroom.
Close to all public transport (tram, bus, train…) and a shopping street.

Despite what I read in the other reviews, I tried to stay overnight for one night and it was all OK. Clean room, comfy bed and shared bathroom.

Comfortable & clean bed, linen & toilet. Location is near to the bus & train station. Should improve on the floor. Little bit dusty at the windows area. Overall is OK.

You get what you pay for. Rooms are basic but clean breakfast definitely worth he money staff helpful about eight stops from Dam square but only one tram the number 4 very quiet area. This has been my second stay.

Let me start off by saying this Hotel is a fair way out, but worth the price I paid for 3 nights. It's also easy to navigate your way around when you're used to the Metro and Bus systems. You can catch the number 4 tram that goes through most of the main areas and takes you straight to Dam Square/ Amsterdam Central Station. Firstly I was greeted by a lovely lady on reception who was happy to engage in conversation with me for 5 minutes or so and didn't try rushing me off to t…he room, she seemed very interested and spoke very good English. Whilst I was staying at Hotel Flipper I met 3 receptionists, all were very polite and helpful with anything I needed information with. The room was just the right size for one person, the bed wasn't extremely comfortable but it did the job and didn't give me a bad back so I can't complain! The only downsides to my stay here was 2 things. 1. The tea and coffee making facilities weren't replenished daily and the room I was in wasn't cleaned or tidied once. (Not that the room cleaning was a major problem but most hotels do it without asking. ) 2. The tap was leaking pretty badly and I wasn't informed of this, however there was a towel underneath the sink to soak up the wet drips. Overall I'll give the hotel a 4 out of 5 and I would stay here again. Staff being the main reason why and the room I'd still give a 3 out of 5. Overall a very pleasant stay at Hotel Flipper.

Fire alarm that engages and wakes the dead. Heating making a sound of lawn mower, the TV that turns on by itself in the middle of the night, the mice who searched in the suitcase… Stay in sensations, lol.

Huge aside from the cleaning service in the shared bathroom.

There are no toilets in the rooms. I had booked 1 room with 2 single beds and got a double bed. The room is small.

Rather seedy hotel for the price they charge you, only two nice guys on staff, well away from the downtown, easy cleaning, bed very small.

Dont see how it gets bad reviews. Good hotel clean an cheap if your complaining about abit of dust in a corner id like to see you find another hotel of this quality for the same price in amsterdam, recently stayed here 2 nights an got on suite bathroom for free due to a minor error on their side. 5 star.

Cheap hotel, Internet bad and a long walk to the centre. Shared toilet and bathroom. But comfortable beds, near shops, restaurants plus coffee shops.

We can almost qualify as hostel for dimensions. On each floor there are two rooms of more than 2 pax with own bathroom and the other two about 3 x 5 meters which have a shared bathroom. Don't expect luxuries.
The double rooms are quite small and quite a few mites by curtains soil, as almost all hotel rooms, but we note that he is cleaned daily, and if you want, they also change you towels every day.
Best to go to the Center is the tram, line 4, which is very close. You can have breakfast in the hotel, but I recommend to do it in the street (the same where you take tram) Rijnstraat.
To get from Schiphol Airport the most comfortable is to take a train to the Amstel Station. You have to make a transfer, but they spend every 15 min. Once in Amstel are some 10 min by foot.
I liked to be a little bit away from the Centre and thus enjoy not altered environment of the Centre and their customs. For those who are interested, there is also a coffeeshop very closely.

Very bad reception, morning girl has not solved me anything or wanted to give us the solution, very unfriendly, unpleasant, thanks to more attentive and pleasant afternoon girl we fix the problem, very small room, good but very small baths, in room no windows had only a skylight, if alquilais to specify that you want a room with window and not with skylight in the legs of beds were walkways with paper and other materials, mattresses were transferred and sleeping was an ordeal, for our part do not recommend anything this hotel.

Double room with bathroom. Lowercase correct xo. Clean. Good buffet breakfast and enough x 6, 5. PARKING on the street — as the blue zone-. System d payment x days, sections x or x hours. €27 / 24 h, €3 / 1 h. Very good connection Center day/night. Wi-Fi ok. Very narrow and steep, stairs without elevator. Little luggage.

It was perfect for two students. The price was ok, the surrounding was quiet and nice. Also short way from the airport. Somebody may argue, that the shower was about 1sqm :D and also toilet was shared per floor, but it totaly suited us. The room had TV, electric kettle and a sink As a great bonus — the receptionst was a Slovak, so we chated our native language and got several tips :-).

Meet people of different nationalities at a place which tries to accommodate it's visitors needs.

Its ok for budget but facilities are MINIMUM and as for staff a few were ok but some were rude obnoxious and cheeky. Never again. Smoke free big turn off and a hell of a walk from the centre.

A cheap hotel in Amsterdam. Comfort is not equal in all rooms. We had 2 different rooms, one with a nice bathroom, another without one, shower is shared in that case. Please take care that some rooms on the ground floor may be noisy as their door are on the reception. Breakfast is available but not of a great quality.

The hotel has at least 21 rooms. Some of them without bathroom. So mean sheep toilet and shower (not always the cleanest: — (). ) From these rooms, rooms were then with double-bed for about €120. With a single ok. But a double bed that takes up more than half of the room. I'm just saying: "never again. ". In my eyes only in an extreme emergency book.! or keep it better be.

OK, the rooms are quite small, but the facilities are very clean, friendly staff, breakfast is very good and varied, the neighborhood where it is located is quiet easy to reach and close to the main attractions to taking public transport.
If you also consider the price it is an excellent choice for young couples.

If you can not find another hotel, it is endurable for only one night! Warning: Take care yourself in staircase while coming up and down.
