Decent place, clean rooms, great location.

Classical hotel in the city centre.

Amazing location, beautiful building from the outside, staff are helpful — room was tiny and very shabby though.

While entrance area and staircase at first made a fancy impression, our rooms did not even look close to the internet pictures, but more like an austrian village pension in the late 70‘s. Accompanied by a mouldy smell in the entire building, the night club closeby kept us awake for some hours on saturday night. The bill we received at our departure was also very „special“ and unprofessional. Unfortunately, I can not tell anything that made our stay at De Doelen enjoyable. Except from that it was central, it was definitely not worth its money.

Very nice location, very central with shops, cafes and a cinema very close to the hotel. Room was very clean and well kept and the beds were very comfortable. Furthermore the guy owning the hotel is very friendly and understanding and is prepared to help out when needed.

The hotel is in a great location on a lovely canal street. I was made to feel welcome and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. When I left de Doelen I stayed on in Leiden to work and was still pointed in the right direction by staff on several occasions. The breakfasts are good and my room was simple, clean, comfortable, and had a good shower.

Hotel de Doelen has a very friendly atmosphere and the staff will go out of there way to make you feel very welcome I would recommend this hotel to all traveler the owners and there staff make you feel as if you are one of there own the rooms are very clean and the food is very good if you don't now wear the best places are to visit just ask one of the friendly staff and they will point you in the right direction.
