What you’re paying for is the property and location! You can’t get 5 star service anymore without hiring your own private butler! Gokarna adequately delivers in service and facilities but over delivers in property and location! I recommend.

A very well known resorts of Kathmandu, but zero hospitality, such rude staffs they have. Visited their with my family for dinner (and this was not the first time) the way the guard at the main gate started interogatting us was so not acceptable and so are the people at the reception.
It's so important for the hospitality sectors to understand what exactly the term "hospitality and politeness means". I mean even if you stop by a Dhabba in India they are more welcoming then people like you. Highly not recommendable.

Terrible food I must say. And too expensive for that sort of food. The swimming pool is slippery. There is a locker room available for the pool and is spacious. The pool was over chlorinated make sure you take your goggles. The golf resort though is well maintained. I suggest you play and get some snacks and move to some other place for lunch or dinner. Plus the cold coffee was made with instant coffee. No wonder le meridian removed it's name from the golf resort. And to get to the place is lots of trouble because of the condition of the road. You can take the road by the guheshowri temple, you will avoid the bad sections (most of it)

This is my go-to place for relaxation. I come here often to get away from the hustling and bustling of the city. The rooms are well designed and the food in the buffet are usually delicious. But when you visit please take insect repellent. Otherwise the facilities are amazing.

We were told that the Gokarna Forest Resort used to be a royal hunting castle. The main building is vast and maintained like it was in the past providing a chance for guests to feel what it was like back then. We ended our Everest Base Camp trek with a stay here prior to returning home to Australia. It's so good we wanted to stay longer.

Quiet and beautiful place. Great food. Enjoyed yoga and spa amenities. The only complaint was the commute from City to the resort. Roads are in terrible condition and rain on top of that. But enjoyed to the fullest.

This is a well maintained resort with all the ingredients right in place for a perfect getaway. This resort enjoys the privilege of being amidst a forest so visitors can feel close to nature. The view of golf course coupled with lush greenery of the surrounding forest is breathtaking. If you are lucky you will also come across herds of deers during your tour of the course. The room amenities are fine, just above the basic. However, there is enough scope to make the rooms much exquisite for a resort that claims to be a luxury one. There is nothing to complain about the foods. All in all, if one wants to enjoy nature surrounded by all the modern luxuries, then this place is definitely worth it.

Great Place for a weekend.

Pricey, but very affordable for a Golf Resort. Amazing service & the staffs are very courteous. Food is good. Perfect to spend a lazy as well as adventurous day. One could easily spot deers & monkey in the property. Pool is nice as well Carry an umbrella, if visiting in monsoon as the resort does not provide umbrellas to its guest.

Nice place to hangout with families and friends. They have many outdoor adventures games like. Paint ball, golf (also for beginners), swimming pool, cycling and many more.

The hospitality of staff like Mr Norbu and Mr Rohit desrves a 5 star. We went for my husbands birthday and the staff went out of their way to make our trip special. A capucino machine in breakfast would make the breakfast perfect.

A good place to chill out with nice buffet lunch, far from the maddening crowd. Nature, greenery, golf and spa. Only downside is: Transportation service. Not many choices here in this area and what is provided is overpriced.

One thing I die for… every time I visit gokarna forest resort I order cream of chicken soup and garlic bread. GFR has got best kitchen team. I rate 5 star for there food and ambience adds cherry on the top. Good place to hang out.

The best resort in Kathmandu. If you love mother nature and pure green environment, thats the place for you. Other physical infrastructure are not outstanding but good enough for stay. Moreover that place used to be the ultimate meet-up and relaxing location for kings and high professionals.

Great spot to relax for a few days to unwind. Went on a beautiful walk through the forest and saw 10 lovely deer in the forest. Don't miss the forest walk. You can play golf if you want here or go to the driving range and hit a few balls for fun. Rooms were a good value for Nepal, good service… Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Suck a nice relief from from crazy Kathmandu and expensive not for everyone…

My husband and I loved the resort and the swimming pool facility. I would definitely recommend it to others.

Gokarna is definitely a nice place if you want to just relax during the cold season: the rooms are nice, there is hot water in the shower, the sauna is ok and the swimming pool fun, even though a bit cold and moldy (and for some reason children, who love it the most, are not allowed). However, if you want to have a more active holiday, and you do not play golf, it is a bit boring since you are not allowed to go on your own for forest walks or roam around the (golf) fields (if you dont play golf). Maybe more suitable for romantic travel than for family travel. Gokarna forest park provides a sylvan retreat from the city at less than an hour's drive from Kathmandu. The hotel combines traditional style with space and comfort, and offers a full golf course (lessons available for beginners and the more experienced). The staff could not be more helpful and do their utmost to ensure an enjoyable stay. I particularly enjoyed the forest walks, the free yoga classes, the spa (I would recommend the ayurvedic massage) and the generous breakfast to start the day well. In short, this was a perfect weekend retreat.

We visited Gokarna Resort in the first week of Feb 2018. It was a wonderful experience. The staff was extremely courteous, the food was delicious and most importantly their rooms are spacious with a super comfy bed. The resort is very peaceful and an ideal place to relax far away from the hustle and bustle of the city. On the whole we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay and would love to go back whenever we get a chance.

Very relaxed location. Facilities: room is very spacious and clean; two in-house restaurants to choose from; swimming pool and sauna are free to use. Small surprise: we actually can see monkeys and dears from our room all the time.

We went there on 31st of December (New year eve) for the new year party. Our experience at Gokarna resort was wonderful. The resort is located in a very beautiful and peaceful area. However we couldn't view all of the areas because the party was in the night time and we are planning to go there again during the day time Food was delicious and definitely this is the most entertaining and highly recommendable place to go specially with friends and family.

Always a great place to stay. Great staff food is very good. Peaceful atmosphere. Monkeys can be a little scary.

One of the best place to visit and stay. The nature and green the open space are my favorite part. I can spend whole day looking at the greenery with some drinks and coffee and a book. Facilitates are good, rooms are excellent, food is good they also have nice bar, Spa and swimming pool. Weekend barbeque is excellent again. Excellent for events and seminars. All in all it gives you rich feelings.

For me Gokarna Forest Resort is just one of the many resorts I would like to visit again and again. There are so many reasons why. The ambience is awesome. Every single staff from the bottom to the top are so cultured, well mannered so courteous and always so obliging. The management has really trained their staff very well. The service, food, rooms and amenities are of a very high standard. We were looked after very well wherever we went in thr resort. Hats off to one and all who have made Gokarna Forest Resort one of the best in Nepal.

I loved this place becuse of its nature beautiness. It is full of beautiful grasslands, various species of flora and fauna, hockey camp, well standard gokarna hotel, etc.

Gokarna is beautiful but I want to share this: I was served raw meat in a hamburger in gokarna the first night of our stay and got really sick. The rest of the holiday I spent in bed and afterwards I went to the hospital. The thing that surprised me the most was that the only compensation I got was-ironically-a free meal! And when we left the staff asked if we enjoyed our stay…
Added 22.8: However, I must add that one month later, when the management became aware of the situation, they kindly offered us a one night all-inclusive free stay in order to create a better memory for us from Gokarna. Well, this in opposite to the first experience, is good service! I hope we will be able to enjoy this time, as we are given a second chance :)

Me and family just came for lunch at their club house, and they were having golf tournament so they only served a buffet. The food taste good and they had many variety. Really enjoyed my lunch today!

Lovely accommodating staff. They respond quickly to any needs or concerns. Add the bonus of seeing monkeys running around, spotted deer perched below you room, exquisite nature surrounding you and you have Gokarno. Great day treks from the hotel into the surrounding mountains.

Went for BBQ on Saturday, wasn't the best Food on that day, compared to what Nepali cuisine actually has to offer. I just wanted to make it clear to all the foreign tourists. That, that is not the taste of Nepal. Please, compare food taste with more local place. Don't recommend the food there. But the hotel, environment, place location is awesome.

People are friendly and kind here. Every body visit this place because of one reason that is peaceful​ and wonderful view of Kathmandu valley. It's really gorgeous place to visit and spend time over here. It's also the one of the view point of sunshine. One adding point is their is tricked system for entry.

I would like to share my experience with Gokarna Forest Resort. Location : breathtaking…, with excellent service, great hospitality. House keeping was up to the mark and they knows their work very well. I was attended by Miss Abha Sharma and I cant stop myself to write some very good words for her. I think she is the gem of customer service. She knows her guest and she gives very satisfactory explanation about hotel, room and amenities. Great job Miss Abha. Keep up the good work. Gokarna Resort is a must visit resort if you ever get a chance to get that area.

I was at the resort when the earthquake struck Nepal on 4-25-2015. My third visit before and after a trek in the Annapurna region, and a visit to the Bardia National Forest. The hotel is said to withstand M8 (Richter 8) earthquake and did not show have structural damage. The hotel staff was excellent. From the manager and the front desk persons, staff at the restaurant, bar, and housekeeping — they were allefficient, courteous and worked overtime and provided excellent service. I was impressed with Sunitha, Deepika, Lasta and many other staff at the resort. I will definitely revisit Gakarna and recommend the hotel highly.

Kathmandu can be overwhelming and Gokarna Forest Resort in a nice oasis up in the hills. We are not city people, so we spent our free afternoon going for a hike in the nearby forest, which had nobody in it and was very peaceful. Gokarna is a bit larger than our usual lodgings, but they have very nice rooms, a choice of restaurants, and good service.

Went during Dec end, nice service, clean and decor of the hotel, specially the rooms are quite big, nepali food "thali" is very traditional a must have.
