One of the best places to stay in town. I’ve stayed here on two different occasions for more than one week each. It is simply delightful — a sanctuary from the chaos of the city. The hotel is located in Barbar Mahal, a beautifully renovated Rana Palace. There is a great selection of shops and restaurants in the complex which is super convenient. In particular, Chez Caroline is phenomenal, one of the best restaurants in Kathmandu. Naresh, the manager of the hotel, is super friendly and hospitable, the other staff are also great. The owner, Pauline, is a natural interior designer. The feng shui flows perfectly and it feels just like home with very thoughtful touches. Fresh ground coffee with a french press, tea, and lots and lots of books make the hotel a great place to think, read or work. Would highly recommend. Will stay again when I’m in Kathmandu next.
