Thank you for a wonderful memories in our life! The new manager, Milton, and the other staffs are all very kind and the lodge is clean. Our car got stuck on the way to there, but the staffs worked hard to help us out. Thank you so much. We highly recommend this place. We hope to see you all again!

Pelican Point Lodge in Walvis Bay, Namibia is nothing short of extraordinary. This isolated gem on a stunning peninsula offers far more than just accommodation – it's an experience that stays with you long after you leave.

The food and wine at Pelican Point Lodge are exceptional. Special mention must go to Matheus, whose bread is genuinely some of the most amazing I've ever tasted – it's worth the trip alone! Every meal is prepared with care and attention, showcasing both local flavours and international standards.
The peace here is profound. With the Atlantic surf as your constant soundtrack and endless horizons stretching in every direction, it's a place where you can finally breathe. The raw beauty of the coastline and the rhythm of the waves create a meditative environment unlike anywhere else.
If you're fortunate enough to meet Yolandi – who should be known as "the Jackal Whisperer" – be sure to ask her about what the local jackals are up to: who's being friendly with whom, and who has new pups. Her knowledge and passion for these fascinating creatures adds yet another layer of magic to the Pelican Point experience.

The adventure starts with the access, the mist and the view. You separate from your normal life and enter a world of timelessness. Experiencing the service, the food and the space, extending to the well curated and performed quality activities, we gained time, clarity and calm. I did not know 2 nights could deliver that amount of relaxation and interest!

I have been to 63 sovereign countries on 6 continents and there is NO hotel in the world that I have stayed in that is like this one! This is serious "isolation" and unsurpassed solitude. We spent 1 night there, 3 July 2025. Staff was supremely helpful and eager to please.

If you are looking for a most unique experience this is THE place! Four wheel drive is required for the drive of many kilometers including through deep sand. The lodge staff is genuinely warm and engaging. The food is unsurpassed. The isolation of sleeping with a balcony door open for fresh sea breeze air and vocal fur seals all night long…. Absolutely unforgettable. If you are not careful the owner’s dogs will adopt you and you’ll never want to leave. I have been in 63 sovereign countries and never experienced anything like this!

The best decision ever was to go on this adventure. Once you stand there, the world slips away. And then there you're just there. Free!
Add to the great food, awesome wine selection, and the fact that you feel so welcomed and at home. Well, we did come home. :-)

Staying at the Pelican Point Lodge is a once in a lifetime experience (except we hope to return)!
Important Note: The hotel is under new ownership as of April or May 2025. Any reviews you read before that time should be disregarded. The new owner (who we got to meet) has big plans to continue to improve the lodge and has already made a lot of upgrades. This is a beautiful, luxury lodge.
This amazing, secluded lodge sits at the end of Pelican Point, with the Atlantic Ocean and 1000's of seals on one side and the Walvis Bay Lagoon on the other side. The boutique lodge only has 10 rooms on three levels with the top level being the penthouse with a 360 degree view of the Point.
Every design detail reflects understated luxury, perfectly complementing — not competing with — the stark, stunning beauty of Pelican Point.
Our stay included breakfast, lunch and dinner. I don't know if that's always the case, but it should be, there's no where else around! And the food was fantastic. Fresh, locally sourced and beautifully prepared and served.
A half-day excursion to Sandwich Harbour is an absolute must when staying at Pelican Point Lodge — it’s one of the few places on Earth where the desert meets the sea in such breathtaking fashion. The lodge can recommend their preferred tour company to pick you up and take you to this magical area.
Pelican Point Lodge is a place you will never forget — a rare sanctuary where the wild beauty of Namibia truly takes center stage.

This location was a real surprise to the positive, located in an old lighthouse keepers building. Ask for the top floor to get a room surrounded in glass (the old Control Room) for the most unique room setting we have ever, ever had. Surrounded by water, while on the room deck we watched Humpback whales breaching and seals body surfing during our sundowners drinks, so beautiful. Although a bit limited in selection, our food was the best of our Namibian journey so far. This establishment is just restarting with new ownership, and with some passion and effort, could rank as one of the best in Namibia. Still needs some work including a rebuild of the dock so you can access the boat tour, but I would highly recommend everyone try a night at Pelican Point. Perfect place to stop after your Dune Tour to Sandwich Harbour, and then take the Boat Tour back to Walvis Bay the next morning. You will never forget it!

One of the best experiences we had in Namibia! We stayed here in April 2025 and we love everything here. Getting to and from the lodge with escorted drive, the secluded location at the end of vast sand bank, beautifully decorated room, comfy bed, great on location experiences, tasty food, and a great services, these are all make our stay very memorable.
The location is right on the Pelican point which is very unique, we can see thousands of seals from our room. It's very awesome. On one morning, we went on kayaking which provided by the lodge and these seals play around our kayak, it's the experience we've never experienced any where.
Room is very comfortable. Being on the very secluded location like this, the lodge has schedule to turn on/off generator for electricity. We didn't find this uncomfortable during our stay at all.
Services also very good even though it's quite far away, we have everything we need when needed. We really appreciate every staff we met at the lodge, Marcus our guide took us on the memorable kayaking with the seals, Trevor the housekeeper keep our room clean and comfortable all the time, Zion and Chef Matthew always serve us great food and service, and Pilades who's part of the great team. We can't thank them enough for making our 2 nights stay very memorable.
We highly recommend this place if you're planning a stay in either Swakopmund or Walvis Bay as it add extra experience and memory to the trip there!

Absolutely awful! Will never come back to this place again.
Manager was intoxicated on arrival. Our rooms werent cleaned. Food was served at 10pm on the first night. No fridge in the room, no aircon in the room, no fan in the room. Limited Wi-Fi, hardly any power. No privacy — no door leading to the toilet/shower.

Paid for two nights, but left after one — would have left even earlier if possible. Has the most terrible rooms I have ever seen anywhere.

This accommodation had a wonderful caring staff! Thank you to Tanya, Trevor (housekeeper), servers Santos and Ivan, and important Chef Vissla. The food was outstanding – especially the oysters and lamb shank! The lodge is way out on a sand peninsula – very remote. It was quite an experience going to and from the city over a vastness of sand. Every room has an ocean view. Unfortunately, during our stay, my husband was not feeling well – the staff showed its concern by serving special meals; Tanya even took him to a pharmacy and grocery store to buy items for his relief.

From the very beginning of my journey to Pelican point Lodge through to the end, it was nothing less than spectacular. Appears as a mirage the very end of the point and your drive out there prepares you for the splendid isolation of being right near the ocean with luxurious rooms, food and service at your fingertips. The lodges under new management with a terrific new leader in Tanya who brings decades of experience in Namibia lodges and Hospitality. The team is outstanding from Santos, Ivan and a great menu that varied every night and featured local dishes. There is an abundance of opportunities to enjoy the ocean the beach and the surrounding activities and Tanya was able to organize terrific outings to harbor and other opportunities. I look forward to coming back again and experiencing this once in a lifetime location and Lodge.

Thank you for an amazing stay. Absolutely stunning and very private. Keith, the lodge manager, runs a very tight ship and his staff is extremely nice and helpful. The room, the food, and the surroundings were simply beautiful. Best place to stay to visit Sandwich harbor, one of the most beautiful coastline in the world. A memorable stay! Merci beaucoup!
