Cest Si Bon Hotel in Q&A

Information is provided based on reviews and may contain inaccuracies.

Where is Cest Si Bon Hotel located, and what is nearby?

The hotel is conveniently located in the center of Otjiwarongo. Guests note that it is situated in a quiet area while still being within walking distance of restaurants, such as Casa Forno, which serves pizza. The hotel also serves as a convenient stopover for those traveling between Windhoek and Etosha National Park.

Does the hotel have parking?

Yes, the hotel has its own secure parking lot. Guests note that it is safe, and in certain accommodation types (such as the motel units), you can park your car right outside your room door, which is very convenient.

How polite is the staff, and how does the front desk operate?

Most guests describe the staff as very friendly, professional, and helpful, particularly highlighting their assistance with car trouble or booking errors. However, there are some negative reviews: one guest experienced rudeness from a breakfast staff member, and another called the staff unpleasant. The check-in process is usually quick and comes with a welcome drink.

What kind of breakfast is offered at the hotel?

The hotel offers a continental breakfast, which many describe as substantial, filling, and varied, featuring fresh eggs and juices. However, some guests suggested expanding the variety by adding pancakes, crumpets, and more fruit. There were also mentions of slow service during peak hours and an insufficient number of egg cooking stations for large crowds of guests.

How is the hotel restaurant, and what type of cuisine does it serve?

The hotel restaurant offers a varied menu, including vegetarian options, and the food is generally rated as delicious and reasonably priced. Many guests love dining by the pool, although there are some complaints about quality: one guest found the T-bone steak too fatty, while another described the food as terrible overall. Guests also note an interesting aquarium featuring piranhas and African fish inside the restaurant.

How reliable is the Wi-Fi at Cest Si Bon Hotel?

The Wi-Fi at the hotel works satisfactorily, but its quality depends on the location. Guests note that the best signal is available in the lounge area of the reception building, while the connection can be less stable throughout the rest of the hotel.

What is the condition of the rooms, are the beds comfortable, and how is the soundproofing?

Opinions about the rooms are divided: many find them clean, spacious, and comfortable, but others complain about worn-out furniture and outdated bathroom interiors. Some reviews mention overly hard mattresses and poor soundproofing in the motel section, where neighbors can be heard. In some rooms under thatched roofs, it can get too hot due to poor air circulation in the upper part of the room.

How is room housekeeping, and how clean is the hotel overall?

Many guests praise the hotel for cleanliness in the rooms and throughout the grounds. However, there are serious complaints regarding hygiene, such as broken glass on the floor and hair in the shower. The general cleanliness of the restaurant and common areas is also noted.

How well does the air conditioning work in the rooms?

Rooms are equipped with air conditioning, which works well in most cases. However, in family rooms with high ceilings, guests noticed that only the lower section of the room gets cooled, while the upper area remains very hot.

Does the hotel have a swimming pool, and what condition is it in?

The hotel features a large, beautiful swimming pool, which many call one of the best in the region. Most guests are pleased with its cleanliness and atmosphere, though one visitor noted they were unable to use it due to continuous cleaning by a pool robot and hoses in the water.

Is the hotel suitable for families with children?

The hotel is suitable for family stays, offering spacious family rooms and a children's playground. Nevertheless, some parents do not recommend it due to hard beds and issues with insects.

Are there issues with insects at the hotel?

Several guests reported serious issues with mosquitoes, especially in rooms under thatched roofs, making it impossible to sleep. The hotel tries to combat this by spraying chemicals; however, some guests complained about the strong toxic smell of these products and the lack of mosquito nets on windows and beds.

A very clean, comfortable and well run hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Dinner took a very long time (over one hour) from the time of ordering, but it was very good when it did finally arrive.

Cost Si Bon Hotel.
What a great place, so peaceful and beautiful.
The conference room I was allocated in to providing training was well setup 👌, and the assistance was awesome 👌. I did not sleep there, but I guess the rooms are also well prepared and clean to stay in.
