What can I say about Urban Camp? Somehow, in the middle of Windhoek, someone decided to hide an oasis of peace, relaxation and excellent food. And they succeeded.
This place is glamping done right. You forget you are in the city, yet you are perfectly positioned for game lodges, 4x4 adventures or just escaping reality for a while.
I stayed for five days and enjoyed every single moment. From the delicious food served with real care, even adapting to my gluten free needs, to the pool, the outdoor living vibes and the real cherry on top, some of the open air bathrooms. Showering under the sky gives you a level of freedom you did not know you needed.
The staff is wonderful, welcoming and genuinely kind. The owner clearly created this place with love and a bit of genius.
Urban Camp is dangerous because once you arrive, you might forget why you ever needed to leave. Highly recommended.
Such a great atmosphere, with really friendly staff. The restaurant/bar and pool area are lovely and inviting, offering several different spaces to relax and enjoy yourself. I specially appreciate them spraying for mosquitoes at the restaurant. The campsite is clean and sufficiently private; we especially enjoyed the hammocks and the high roof. The stands are quite close to one another, so you can hear your neighbours, some were quite noisy early in the morning. There are several ablution blocks to choose from; unfortunately, the lights were not working in the one near our campsite, which was a small inconvenience. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.

I wasn't convinced at first what camping would be like within a city, on arrival I was blown away by the paradise that was created. Beautiful restaurant and pool area to relax after a long days drive. The private campsites each with its own covered area for shade and built in barbecue made it even more relaxing. The outdoor showers were amazing and the clean modern bathrooms made our stay even more pleasant. Very helpful and friendly staff. A must stay if you are ever passing through Windhoek and need a place to rest.
