Ti Melen Boutique Guesthouse

Quaint and lovely boutique house! Yummy breakfast, nice morning views and very close to the cool things in Windhoek!

Superb spot with exceptionally friendly staff, including the chef who got up at 3am to make me a packed breakfast when I left at 4am to drive back to South Africa. Ti Melen's rooms are big, the beds are comfy, and the bathrooms are massive, including double showers and a large bathtub. The restored antique furniture pieces dotted around the property add an old world charm too.

The accommodation is lovely with a spacious bathroom, shower that is built for 2, little patio and comfy beds. A great stop over for a night. There is a fireplace and wine available. We were also able to stay later after checkout which was really helpful for us. It’s about a 25 min drive from the airport.
The not so great: there are no porters and no ramps from the steep driveway. There is an external staircase you will need to personally bring your bags up, 2 flights. If you are staying upstairs (likely a family), you will need to personally carry your belongings up a VERY narrow spiral staircase. There are no porters no help. Just you.
Staff aren’t there except a few times a day.
There are no lunch or dinner options. You just go into town (absolutely not walkable), or order through the Dial a Meal app. However, international phones aren’t able to download the app so you will have to find another way to download the app which makes it really hard to get food.
Breakfast is a very VERY continental breakfast with toast, a few dry cereals, yoghurt, some cheese and some meats. We ordered eggs and bacon which I believe were the only hot items. Breakfast is at 8 so make sure you’re not an early breakfast person or have snacks.

We stayed 2 nights at Ti Melen and have nothing but good things to say about the staff and property. Our room was on the one with the balcony you see in the photo on this website. We loved that it was within walking distance of Avis Dam, a great place for some bird watching. The staff was friendly and attentive to our needs. They called for a taxi to take us into town for shopping and lunch at the craft market and bistro. Our group used 5 rooms so they do have more than 3 as previously stated. We would definitely stay there again.

This was a bizarre experience. We stayed at an Ondili property in Etosha and had close to 5 star service all around (if not 5 star). We therefore had expectations of similar service at their property in Windhoek, it's why we booked. Boy were we wrong. While the room was kinda cute and the bathtub excellent the service was non existent, like there wasn't anyone there most of the time. We walked around calling out for someone multiple times and ended up just taking a bottle of wine at one point (we paid for it later when we found someone). When I wanted to inform the staff that we needed to check out early I had to find a maintenance person who them tracked someone down 30 minutes later. When I went to check out they said I hadn't paid. It took multiple phone calls for them to finally say, "oh yeah, he paid". It was a truly bizarre experience since it was the polar opposite to our experience in Etosha. I'm glad we went there first because if Ti Melen was out first experience I would have cancelled my reservation at Etosha Oberland. Needless to say I wouldn't return, wouldn't recommend anyone else does and implore Ondili to do something about this place as it hurts their brand.

We loved staying at ti melen, the staff was very friendly and we enjoyed our stay there so much! Would definitiely go back! Wonderful breakfast as well and very nice whirlpool. The room was very clean and super big.

The stuff is super friendly, the rooms are all a bit different, cosy and well equipped.
The beds are very comfortable.

Ti Melen is in a beautiful location in proximity of Windhoek city center, though a car will be needed if you wish to reach the part of the city with shops, restaurants and malls. The rooms are beautiful with comfortable bed, large and well equipped bathroom. The breakfast is good and the general atmosphere of the guest house is perfect to spend few relaxing days. The staff is nice and helpful. You will feel like at home! The swimming looks great though we could not used it because it was pretty cold in Windhoek at the time of our stay.

It was the last night of our journey. We were given a nice, quiet room with a great view and felt well and safely accommodated. Given the low temperatures in the evening at this time of year, we were pleased that the air conditioning was also able to generate heat.
The staff were very friendly, although we would have liked a little more attention at breakfast. The coffee ran out quite quickly and was only refilled on request, and the egg dishes took quite a long time, even though there were only four breakfast guests in total. Nevertheless, we would definitely recommend the accommodation.

We arrived at around 18h00 in the evening and were welcomed with big smiles and a lovely warm indoor fire as it was very cold. Check-in was hassle free and we were showed to our lovely rooms which boasts great views of the rolling hills you see outside the city. The neighbourhood was dead quiet which made for an excellent night's sleep. Their beds are super comfy and the showers were HOT. We were also impressed with the "smart" mirror we had in our room.
Breakfast was abundant with fresh ingredients. I would highly recommend this establishment!

We were the only people staying which was amazing. It is a gated property and felt very safe. I think the owner/manager lives next door. Our booked room was unavailable so we were given the pick of the rooms and it felt like a significant upgrade. Close to Fresh and Wild @Utopia, a restaurant that also did takeaway — thoroughly recommended. 30mins from airport. As we were leaving early we got a substantial breakfast bag.

As a solo traveler all the way from America, I can’t stop talking about this beautiful place. Lives up to the dream. If your looking for more than the standard hotel experience, this is it!

Outstanding and unique. I loved my stay at this peaceful place. You are surrounded by the most peaceful nature with stunning views everywhere you look. The staff are so friendly and the rooms are lovely. I wish I could stay longer.

We enjoyed our stay at a well maintained property with very friendly and helpful staff. The position is located in a very quite area, perfect for a relaxing time. The breakfast was fabulous and the beers in the mini bar were ice cold — thank you.

A beautiful guesthouse, literally on the edge of Windhoek, in a quiet residential neighbourhood. The decoration of the rooms and the breakfast/reception hall is outstanding. Each room has its own terrace. Refrigeration with a selection of cold drinks in each room. Very good quality of the beds. No restaurant on the premises, so dinner needs to be ordered for delivery, alternatively restaurant Stellenbosch is only a 5' taxi ride away. Secured and closed parking. Ideally situated on the way to/from the airport.
