ReadyToTrip can help you plan your stay.
The location is excellent, staff are friendly, rooms are in African style equipped with good shower system, no hairdryer.
Because the lounge is inside, you can drive to the viewpoints before the main gate opens and return after sunset, which is a huge advantage for photography and cooler hiking conditions. And this is why we paid for the high cost and chose to stay here. If you are not fancy for the timing etc I would suggest you to pick other lodges nearby (inside first gate or near gas station) to stay, any places would be much better value than here.
Worth to mention that this place is about 60 km from Deadvlei, so you still have a drive, but you get the first and last light on the dunes without worrying about gate times.
The room gets unbearably hot during day time there’s only a fan equipped which does not help the heat. We had bad sleep because the temperature was still quite high at night.
Grasshoppers are everywhere inside the room, restaurants, anywhere that have a light. It disturbed my dinner a lot. The 3 courses dinner at the restaurant was nice — it comes with starter, 3 options (2 meat & 1 veg) for main course and dessert.
Coffee and tea are always available at the restaurant so if you need to go early for sunrise you can help yourself there. Breakfast pack to go can be requested the night before too.
