Desert Quiver Camp

Great location just 5 km from the National Park entrance! The rooms are clean and comfortable. I loved the outdoor kitchen setup with the fridge and both electric and wood stoves. While there is a pool and a bar at the camp, keep in mind there is no restaurant on-site; you have to go to Sossusvlei Lodge nearby for meals. Overall, a very cool and well-maintained camp!

Stayed 2 nights here. Beautiful and peaceful, space to breathe, game tracks in the sand in front of the units, black skies studded with stars. Loved having the two far end units. A step up from having to pitch a tent and use ablution blocks! Separate toilet and large shower area with 2 sinks. Pretty raised pool/bar area with amazing sunset views. Pool was in the process of being painted.
Air conditioner was noisy at night, but we did report it to the staff.
Sossusvlei Lodge was great for dinner. Were grateful to have a middle table right near the wall overlooking the desert and sunset/night sky with stars and moon.
Would definitely stay here again.

Wow, this place was so nice. The huts are extremely comfy with parking next to the hut. They let you eat at the nearby lodge, which was one of the best foods we have had during our stay, and we are all 4 vegan. At night, it's so dark you get to see all the stars and the milky way. The only comment is that the pool is really small and quite uninviting, but it was too hot anyways. Place is located 2 minutes from the Sossusvlei park gate.

Great location, rooms are individual huts that are large, clean, well equipped with modern sinks, shower and toilet.
You can buy a meat, salads and bread und make your own BBQ. You can chose if you want to cook it an an stove or the grill. But most food you can choose is easy to cook an the grill.
Breakfast is included 4km up the road at Sossusvlei Lodge which was fabulous.
The pool and the poolbar are nice to relax.

Standard twin room is modern, neat & spacious. Nice view of the desert. Bed is very comfortable & clean. Check in & check out was efficient & quick, reception is very helpful, polite & professional. Buffet dinner had plenty of options. Staffs are friendly, helpful & speak English.

Breakfast is included 4km up the road at Sossusvlei Lodge and you can buy dinner separately there as well. I’m not a camper so I took my meals there and there breakfast and dinners are fabulous!

Great place to see the Milky Way. Loved this place as the rooms were spacious, clean with separate toilet and shower area. Nice little porch with a picnic table and BBQ if you desire. Regular restaurant 5K away so you have to drive. Food was great with no waiting. Bar area where the cottages are is very adequate with great staff. Very quiet and remote area.

Chalets were lovely and well spaced out so didn’t feel on top of each other. Inside of chalets were comfortable with plenty of space and great shower.
It is an open plan arrangement including the toilet so no door or separate room.
There is an outdoor kitchen at the chalet and a bbq and I believe you can order supplies at reception.
The main hotel for breakfast and dinner is a 5 minute drive away but also very pleasant and the restaurant is a buffet, which includes a BBQ.
The highlight for us was the stars, they are amazing and so clear, so remember to look up!

My husband thoroughly enjoyed our 2-night stay at Desert Quiver Camp. The bungalow was perfect and was equipped with everything we needed. The location and setting were magical, in the middle of the desert. Very friendly staff. Everything was perfect, and we did not want to leave!

We wanted to get away a bit just to clear our mind from all our anxiety and stress this past year has brought. Saw desert Quiver’s special that they are running and thought okay WOW let’s book this. Spoke to the booking agent (whom we later found out sits in South Africa for some odd reason 😐🤷🏼‍♀️) She told us on mail it’s not necessary to book at all there wil be enough space for us at Desert Quiver. We drive all the way from Swakop arrive there at around 7 at night. The lady at reception says No there is no space at Desert Quiver and sends us to their other camp cause according to her it “looks the same”. We get to the other side and no it does not look like the pictures we saw as we had this idea in our head already. Just to check in took us about and hour and a half. We insisted to sleep at Desert Quiver (then after insisting they miraculously have space for us again at Desert Quiver wow 🤦🏼‍♀️😐) as the booking agent specifically said there is space. Then this guy who helps us insists we pay upfront-this is after we wanted to book and pay online through the booking agent too but she advised us to pay everything on checkout. Now please keep in mind we had reached our swiping limit for the day (filling up the car buying groceries for the trip etc) so after an hour and a half of a struggle just to get the keys for our camp I started to get really annoyed as we are tired and hungry. We arrived at the camp so late we could not even cook the food or make a braai.
