Desert Camp

The pool area is great. The air conditioning is working very well and the camp is perfect with a wonderful view of the desert. For all the meal, we have access to the sossuvlei lodge which is a five stars resort. The food there was amazing as well. Everyone at desert camp was very nice and helpful. We really enjoyed this place with our two kids (6 and 9). The staff helped us secure a tour of Deadvlei. I would go back again.

Great place to stay and visit Sussuvlei. This hotel is part of a chain and just next to it you have the main hotel where you can get breakfast, lunch and dinner. I recommend booking the day tour in the desert. The pool and bar are also nice.

We had an amazing time at Desert Lodge and couldn't have asked for a better experience. The accommodation was fantastic, offering stunning views and breathtaking sunsets that we will never forget. One of the highlights was the affordable and delicious BBQ option, which we thoroughly enjoyed.
The proximity to Dead Vlei was also perfect – it made visiting the iconic site so easy and convenient. Additionally, we loved relaxing by the pool and had a great time at the bar. The entire atmosphere was incredibly welcoming, and we truly felt at home.

Nice and comfortable bungalows with some stunning views next to the national park entrance. You can park your car next to the bungalow. The staff was nice, they booked dinner for us at the nearby Sesriem Lodge. You can watch the sunset from there.

There’s a lot to like about this spot. The cabins are great — comfortable beds, modern bathrooms and the people who work there are amazing. The only issues we had was that there’s no restaurant on site so you either need to bbq your own food or go to a nearby resort. The bar is quite nice but we were there during the Namibian winter so it was very cold to sit and have a drink. Also, be sure to bring your own hairdryer, they don’t supply them. Internet is available but only in the bar and at reception (both are outside)

Absolutely breathtaking. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Rooms are beautiful, neat and tidy with stunning views. They have a bar right there in the middle of the desert. So peaceful.

After staying in the Desert Quiver Camp last year, this year we booked the Desert Camp. It's equally beautiful, with nice beds, a proper shower and convenient storage space. The view is magnificent and the people very friendly. Nothing can beat the dinner under the stars at the lodge. Of course the closeness to Sossusvlei is the main reason to stay here, but the pool area is nice as well.

The desert camp was wonderful with incredible views over the desert. From time to time a few Oryx even visited the lodge. The rooms very spacious and clean.

Desert Camp's rooms are clean and you have a nice view of the landscape from outside.
There is no fridge in the room. Especially compared to the Sossusvlei Lodge, the staff of this lodge is not very enthusiastic or attentive. Maybe we caught the wrong day, but when we asked for extra towels, the lady at the reception didn't even look at us while we asked, but stared at her phone. This is unacceptable.
We can still recommend staying at this lodge because it's cheaper than other nearby lodges, and still offers comfortable rooms. You can have breakfast, lunch and dinner at the nearby Sossusvlei Lodge, which is only a few minutes drive away.

Great location very handy for the national park. We also requested the furthest cabin from reception and the view out over the desert gave a great sense of space and isolation. Enjoyed the nearby weaver birds and saw orynx from outside our cabin. Well planned comfortable cabin and the outdoor kitchen was great. The box of utensils has all you need. Note for the park you can no longer buy tickets the day before but if you are in the queue 20 mins or so before the gate opens you should be able to drive straight in when the gate opens as the warden takes a note of the vehicle registration numbers and you pay later as you leave.

Desert camp was a wonderful place to stay. The cabin was spacious, comfortable and very clean. The location absolutely stunning (and convenient) and we very much enjoyed a poolside drink each afternoon. The staff were also friendly and helpful.
Desert Camp exceeded our expectations and is highly recommended.
