Very comfortable room and bed.

The staff are very nice, clean, good location, value for the money.

Good, helpful staff. Early and speedy check in. Very clean rooms. Rooftop dinning, igloo style dining, good for wet weather. Lots of convenient stores nearby. Close proximity to Shwedagon Pagoda Temple. Also view of pagoda from rooftop. Unfortunately no spa. Overall, value for money.

Great location for few nights while visiting Yangon. Close to few main temples and local market. You will experience local daily life if you hang around and observe. Hotel is rather basic but clean and comfortable. Won't complain for rate charged.

Nice place to stay in Yangon. Room is clean. Bed is not too soft which is good. Wide variety of breakfast menu offered. Location is good, close to market and Shwedagon pagoda. Staff are cheerful. :)

The hotel is a short walk away from the Shwedagon Pagoda, and located very near several awesome street food stalls. Turn right after exiting the hotel, and walk along the street. You should be able find many many street food stalls. We tried the rice sets from one of the stalls nearer to the hotel, and mohinga from a stall further down where’s its opposite the morning market selling flowers. There is also a stall at the corner selling skewered braised pork slices and innards. There are many locals eating there, so it’s definitely an authentic experience.

Good value for money for this hotel which offers all the comforts and a restaurant-bar on the terrace that allows to admire the sunset on the Schwedagon pagoda nearby by drinking a cocktail. The city centre is about fifty minutes walk away, which avoids traffic jams in Yangon. Located in the popular area of Bagan, crowded with stalls all day, it does not offer however a close alternative for dinner but the restaurant is OK.

A decent fine hotel, clean and comfortable, service people are really nice and friendly. Roof top view and atmosphere is wonderful, I enjoyed very much at here. Thank you.

Great staff and service! The room was very clean and located near Shwedagon temple. The local restaurant next to it has amazing Myanmar tea.

Good staff & good location.

Their rooftop restaurant is very nice and attractive. You can enjoy pagoda view in all the day and night. Sitting in floor and round table I enjoyed lot. I suggest to go their with family or friends.

For visit the pagoda its a great location. I had some street food infront the hotel. Nearby I sisnt saw western restaurants but on toproof on hotel is also a kitchen. Very friendly kind staff. Good price for youre room. Doors close hard so can be noisy iff you have no social people.

Stay only for one night. The location is good for walking around. The hotel beer garden at the rooftop is very cool with the view to the biggest pagoda in yangon. However, food and drink are expensive there.

We are the 40 people group that checked in at night and just slept there one night. The hotel is quite good with the location. The room and the restaurant is clean, although they are quite small in my opinion, but still be ok and I will recommend to my friends if they are travelling to Yangon.

Good clean hotel. Surrounding not so great as it is near shwedagon pagoda and market so there is always traffic at any given point of time.

Advertised (and priced) as a boutique hotel but it is really a budget hotel. No separate shower in the bathroom, so everything gets wet. Room smelled of sewage, and location is difficult for taxis to find.

Walking distance to Shwedagon. Rooms are clean. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

Great location and a truly nice service team makes Merchant a convenient and cozy place to call home while you are in Yangon. The only shortcoming was the internet connection which tended to go out occasionally.

If you're in Yangon, consider this hotel. Really comfortable and really great service. Also try Jana Mon, a Mon restaurant nearby. Super food, super cooks and super service. If I could adopt them I would. I can't remember the last time I liked a people of a country as much as I liked the people of Myanmar. Well OK, I loved the Vietnamese too. And the Thais.

Clean basic hotel, nothing too fancy but served its purpose very well.

Good value for money — hotel was opened in 2015, so, at the time of our visit (Feb. 2016) condition was great; price per night used to be ~60 USD. They have a huge roof with a perfect panoramic view, which was not utilized during our visit, but would make up a great roof top bar. Service was nice and front desk staff was helpful and full of information about nearby objects. As for the "Art" in the hotel's name — well, somewhat questionable — mainly, pop-art knock-offs & some optical illusion paintings — that's it.

The views from the rooftop are simply spectacular.

It is perfectly located and I would stay again. The pillow were a little large and a little blue light on the air con took away from what might have been the perfect rest, but still a pleasurable stay.
