Review of PARKROYAL Yangon 4*

I had a birthday free myanmar traditional massage. The Spice restaurant service is perfect and I will defenitely come again. However, the spa upset me may be because they thought I came for free. I didn’t feel the hospitality from the lady who gave massage since the start. At first, I thought I was being pessimistic but it wasn’t. I told her it’s abit itchy to get massage in thighs. Then, she said “ ok, so I will skip all the thighs part “. I said, “no, u can do, … Let me try first and if It’s not ok, u can skip “. I said TWICE. She kept saying “ no, it’s thigh part, u won’t be able to handle it “. The customer was saying “ let me try “ and she kept saying “no”. Should this happen? But, I didn’t say anymore and thinking “ ok, this can be because I am Free of charge customer. Let it be”. Then, It came the head part. She said my back muscles are hard. I said it may be because I have kind of spondylosis (kyee baung). She suddenly stopped and told me “ u can’t get head massage. It will make you worse “. I told her “ I don’t think so. I always have massage and I feel better “. She said again “ ask every doctor, u can’t get massage” in a very definite tone. I am doctor. My dad is also a doctor who has cervical spondylosis and having massage everyday too. Even if it makes me worse, she should continue when the customer says it’s ok, isn’t it? How do you think? I felt so upset with her terrible customer service with great laziness to serve her customer. May be she kept thinking I came for free. I would not give any tips. The massage time u advertised was 60 min. But she did only 40 min. I said nothing at all as I already stopped expecting any service from her. But, I gave her tips. I didn’t want to be a stingy free customer as she might expected. When I walked pass the reception, saw two receptionist men who didn’t say any Thank you, see you again bla bla though they saw a person in front of them. May be I was too over expecting the service of the so called five star hotel I satisfied the Spice restaurant service especially the manager lady and recommending my friends about the food but never for massage.
