We had a great 1 1/2 day cruise on the MV Mingun (Ancient Cities Flotilla). It's a luxury we normally don't treat ourselves to and we didn't regret it. The boat & cabins, the food & drinks as well as the sightseeing was 100% catered to our needs and wishes. A perfect way to explore the Mandalay region, without the dusty and bumpy raods. Thanks to the great crew, always again!
Get there early if you want seats upper deck or sit in lower deck in Recaro imitation seats. Breakfast box with boiled egg and banana and 2 Danish pastries. Lunch offered too. Unlimited coffee and tea. Toilets another experience. Long journey but it is an experience to be made. Go downstream to Bagan in 9 or so hours. Upstream back longer. 40+ us$. Taxi is 70 and 3.5 hrs. Choice depends on your travel needs.
