Lovely Riad set in the Medina with access to local restaurants and attractions. Abdul and staff made it feel like home from home with their hospitality. The breakfast is excellent and sets you up for the day; the evening meals are excellent quality and value for money. I would highly recommend this Riad when visiting Marrakesh.

Loved this place. It was our first time in Marrakesh. We had a taxi organised from the airport by the Riyadh with a fixed price and when we got there we were Dropped on the street and the general manager met us. He took our luggage and we followed him. We went down some very typical dark narrow alleys to get there and of course all that shows of the Riyadh is a front door. So once opened by very friendly staff, very attentive, exceptionally helpful, it opens up to the sky in a beautiful courtyard. Simple, clean, bijou but perfect. On the first night we hadn’t booked anything for dinner, and the extremely helpful general manager suggested we ate there. We did and had no regrets, dinner was wonderful. The food was very typical lamb and rice, simply done but beautifully cooked by the kitchen staff who also were really helpful and friendly. My wife is coeliac And they did as much as they could to help with this, although I would come prepared and let them know in advance so that they can bring in specific dietary requests. The breakfast the morning after did more than fill us up. Plenty to eat! And all very well cooked and served. All the rooms open up onto the courtyard so it feels very special. And the rooms had everything we Needed and were extremely comfortable. We were at the Riyadh for three nights. When we arrived on the Friday, we explored the city a little. On the Saturday, we Explored in depth.

I stayed at Riad Altair for a few nights and overall I had a very good experience. The riad is intimate, quiet and well maintained, with clean and pleasant common areas where it’s really easy to relax after a day in the chaos of the Medina.
The welcome was excellent: my reservation was in order, on arrival the room was already ready and the staff were always kind and helpful, both at reception and in the dining area. I really appreciated their availability in giving information about the city and helping me organize the transfer, which was punctual and well managed. The meals were good and table service was attentive and quick. Personally, I also really liked the absence of a TV in the room, which adds to the peaceful atmosphere of the riad.
The room was clean, the bed comfortable and the Moroccan-style décor very cozy. However, I would point out two small areas for improvement: there is no full-length mirror in the room, which would be very useful; and the air conditioning did not work properly in heating mode and no warm air came out, which can be a bit of an issue in winter.
The only real downside concerns the payment of the bill: I was forced to pay in cash, so I had to withdraw money and pay about €5 in bank fees. Since there was no alternative to paying by card, I would have appreciated at least having this extra cost covered, or being clearly informed about it in advance.
