Riad Sapphire & Spa

Have the hamman, breakfast is great and changes daily, roof top is so peaceful. The rooms are gorgeous and the A/C the strongest we found in Morocco. Staff so helpful, can't fault it. Tea and cake on arrival.

Riad Sapphire and Spa was a really lovely place to stay. We had a superior room which was great. Driss and Abdul were really helpful which made our 3 night stay more relaxing. The breakfast was amazing served by the nicest lady (sorry I didn’t get her name). My husband had a massage which he said was very good. I would definitely recommend this Riad.

We had a nice experience at this Riad. Friendly people, ready to help with useful information at any time (we mention Driss, he was very kind and always helpful; Abdu, also). Clean rooms, splendid terrace, overlooking many tourist attractions. The location is ideal for people who need a quiet atmosphere, away from the noise and bustle of the medina. Although very close to the souks, the street where the Riad is located is quiet and safe. Khadija was very helpful, nice and attentive to our needs. Thank you Soukaina and Khadija for the superb spa experience.

This is the worst property I have encountered over my 30 years of travelling experience. They cancelled my confirmed bookings for 2 rooms just 2 weeks before my arrival in Marrakech.

My booking was done through Expedia. This Riad may cancel your booking last minute without lame explanation that they will be closed when the manager just contacted me two weeks before my family is supposed to check in if we would like escort from the carpark and if we would like to make reservation at their restaurant and spa. When I replied that all were not necessary, they cancelled my reservations for 2 rooms. Thankfully, Expedia helped me to book for another hotel and fully compensated my cost for the last minute rebooking,
Sharing my experience so that others will not have to face such unprofessional handling from this Riad and have to go through the hassle of rebooking their activities arranged with various agents (private hire pick up, tour pick up etc).
I do not recommend booking with this Riad…

Overall had a good stay at this riad.
The location is fine, it’s within walking distance to everything which is good, but the back alley it’s down felt a little bit dodgy at night. We made sure we always went back when the sun was still up to feel more safe which cut our days in Marrakech a bit short.
It’s nice and peaceful in the Riad, away from any noisy roads, but there is no soundproofing between the bedroom and outside. Any time anyone leaves another room or walks past the room it is very loud and woke us up.
The breakfast was okay, lots of selection, although was a bit strange at times like being served a massive slice of chocolate cake. There was always fresh juice and fruit served which was nice.
When we came to leave there was a €3 tourist tax charge per person per night which we didn’t know about and barely had enough leftover currency to pay for this as they wouldn’t accept card. Was a bit embarrassing as we hadn’t accounted for this as we had no warning previously.
The owners did kindly print boarding passes for us free of charge as we didn’t realise we needed these for the flight home.
There were no basic amenities in the room like a kettle or mini fridge, no TV, and we had to pay for things like tea which have been free in every hotel I’ve ever stayed at. There were also only 2 sockets in the room, but there was an extension lead to use which was fine.
The “pool” was freezing cold and not for swimming, definitely for aesthetics only.

Can't recommend more highly Riad Sapphire & Spa. Spent a week there, and the service was fantastic. The location is very convenient, as it's tucked away inside the Medina (old city) of Marrakesh, a 5-minute walk from where vehicles are allowed, and where the souk is. The staff are warm, smiling, helpful and eager to please. The place is spotless, the rooms cleaned daily. We went for the hammam and massage package, the hammam being on location. Would highly recommend it. My massage was with Raja (hope the spelling is right! ), and she was terrific. The breakfasts are copious and delicious, and we had supper a couple of times, both times delicious. Rooftop terrace is lovely, and we had supper there on one occasion. Can't think of a negative to this place. Forego a boring hotel room, and book yourself into this riad!

I have stayed in many hotels, but even a 4 star hotel cannot compete with this Riad! If you are really looking for an oasis in the desert, this is the place. The staff here are super friendly and love what they do. Fantastic breakfast, shai and a spa. It is very clean, you feel like an honoured guest and the riad always smells good.

The sapphire Riad and Spa is a hidden gem in the heart of historical Medina in Marrakech. This wonderful riad blends traditional Moroccan decor with modern comfort making it feel more like a boutique hotel. Designed with meticulous attention to detail, with domed archways. Specially curated with traditionally designed rooms, Islamic art, and local furnishings. Some of my favorite features are the on-site spa, the rooftop terrace. The daily breakfast is as well as fresh fruits, juices and Moroccan mint tea amazing!. I was able to get vegan options. The Riad's location is perfect, nestled in the Medina convenience — walkable to all the major historical destinations and just a short walk from the famous Jemaa el-Fnaa square, Bahia Palace, Koutoubia Mosque, and several vibrant souks. The staff was incredibly friendly, very helpful and knowledgeable especially Abdou and Driss at reception. Abdou is a wonderful human being and a very efficient organizer, helped me way beyond his call of duty, organized tours with Mustapha on my 14 days private tour in which Aladdin’s fairytale was truly real, and shopping suggestions. Very helpful with guiding me where to go on my almost three week stay in Morocco. I was always greeted warmly by all the staff which made me feel like family. Hospitality is out of the world!.
I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay and will definitely return on my next visit to Marrakech. I absolutely loved my stay at this Riad.

We had such a lovely stay here. The building itself is beautifully done and everything is so clean and fresh. They provided breakfast every morning which had some nice Moroccan touches, along with some more western style bits to keep everyone happy. The room was comfortable and spacious. The owners were so helpful in recommending good places to eat and things to do, and even helped us book a couple of things. Thank you for having us, we really had the best time and wouldn't hesitate to book here again! :)

What a wonderful oasis of calm and kindness. I had one last evening here after attending a conference and it was a wonderful rest. The room was gorgeous, the roof top terrace so beautiful and the place is spotless. My room was strewn with rose petals on arrival and the staff made me so welcome. The breakfast was amazing — too much for me to manage solo and delicious coffee/ mint tea. I will come back.

Beautiful, private riad. A bit off the beaten path inside the old Medina in Marrakech, but well worth the walk. After winding down the old narrow streets, you find a hidden gem with beautiful rooms and a lovely roof top. It is close to everything and still quiet and out of the way.

The Riad Saphire is a wonderful place. Very quiet location with a beautiful patio and fireplace. Abdo and his team is very friendly and helpful — thank you very much!

Delighted we booked this gem of a hotel. From our arrival to our departure the excellent hospitality did not waiver.
Every request was honoured and both Abdo and Driss did their upmost to ensure our stay there was perfect.
We ate at the Riad on our first night and the food was delicious and plentiful. We also booked a’ couples ‘ Salt/Spa treatment which we would highly recommend.
The Riad is immaculate and very tranquil in its setting. We slept very well!
The whole team are exceptional hosts and we would definitely stay there again.

Very happy with our stay at Sapphire Riad, the property itself is lovely. Quiet, clean and an oasis.
Of calm after the chaos of the Medina.
No more than 25 minutes by taxi from the airport and at the north west side of the.
Medina, within walking distance to all the major sights but we did get a taxi back to the Riad.
From the Fnar square on one occasion as it was very hot. Taxis are cheap-if you haggle!
We were greeted by the wonderful Abdo who served us Mint tea and delicious cake on arrival.
And throughout our stay was always on hand, along with his colleague, to assist in any way he.
Could, including ringing a local restaurant to book a reservation. Nothing was too much trouble.
The bedroom was lovely and spacious with a walk-in shower and very efficient air-con, there is.
A small plunge pool and several delightful quiet public areas to sit and also a roof top terrace to.
Sit in the sun if preferable.
Breakfast was particularly impressive, beautifully presented with a huge array of delicious.
Savoury and sweet items which varied everyday (the chocolate cake was particularly good! ) all.
Served by the delightful staff.
We would not hesitate to stay at this Riad again and highly recommend.

The Riad Sapphire was one of the best places I have stayed in, due in the main to the very helpful staff. The riad has been modernised but is very atmospheric, in the streets of the medina to the north of the centre. We booked a cab from the airport with the staff in advance and were met at the point the cab can go no further. Strongly recommended — you will get used to the turns to get to the riad quickly but it would be hard to find on your first arrival without the escort.
Our room was on the first floor with covered windows looking out into the courtyard/dining area. This gives you privacy — rooms on the ground floor are a little more exposed. Rooms are ensuite and air conditioned — much needed in the week we stayed when temperatures were 36 degrees c in the afternoon. There is a mosque nearby so inevitably you will hear the early morning call to prayer.
The staff were incredibly helpful with support — for example with a restaurant booking where the restaurant didn't open until 6.30pm and we weren't available to phone. We had issues with our collection point for a trip to the Atlas and the manager came with us, waited and phoned several times when the bus didn't arrive when it was supposed to. We had advice on how to find things not in our guide. Breakfast portions are generous and the only time we asked for a lunch a good salad appeared. We also had an escort to our pre-booked cab back to the airport in the morning.
