Riad Simon

We were supposed to arrive before 1 am from the airport but we arrived after 2am. The you man (didn’t get his name) was waiting for us in the cold outside at 2am. This is beyond good service. The Riad was perfect too!

Each time I write the truth about the Riad Simon my review gets removed.
I posted photos showing the shower that looked like a slaughter house floor.
The whole place is dirty.

We left immediately and were offered a refund.
The owner did not honour this. He placed on booking. Com we were s no show.
Avoid at all costs.
Do not stay even free of charge.

It was amazing! Simon is a very friendly, helpful host, with a cute cat named Sisi.
The place is in the heart of Medina, so I highly recommend for everyone who wants to see and experience the true self of Marrakesh. The rooms were clean, got air conditioning what is really important in the hot season! 🥰 The building is calm and quiet, even though the main door is opening on the street of bazaar🥰🫣
Beds are comfortable, and after a whole day walk or guided tour, you will sleep like a baby! 🫣 You got Wi-Fi and rooftop garden in the building which is very cosy, if you want to to have some drinks at night.
Unfortunately there is no alcohol, except the sky bars cocktails, but you can enjoy the view and the atmosphere without it. 🥰
Simon was a very good host, as he knew that is our first time, he has a list of attractions and places to choose from. We tried out many from it and it was awesome.
Near the place, you have a really small coffee seller guy, offering coffee, tea, or some bracelets or necklace, but he has a really good coffee! The name of the place is Good Times coffee. For breakfast I recommend to have it in Kannaria Patiserie, Nadja makes the best pancakes in the area🥰❤️🥰

Riad Simon is a perfect choice in every way! The riad is in a great location, and the Marrakesh atmosphere hits you the moment you step outside. The main square is close by, and you’re literally in the heart of the Medina.
The place itself is clean, comfortable, and beautiful. There’s also a large rooftop terrace.
Simon, the owner, is a very friendly, kind, and welcoming person. He’s very flexible, you can talk to him about anything, and he’s always ready to help. On top of that, he has a cat called “Sisi” who, surprisingly really good at playing football 😀
I can recommend this accommodation to anyone. Naturally, since it’s in the middle of the Medina, it can sometimes be noisy, but that’s true for all of Marrakesh, as the city lives 24/7. So you really can’t go wrong with this place—it’s a perfect option for solo travelers, couples, or even families.

I stayed at Riad Simon with my 14 year old daughter. Simon was an amazing host who went above and beyond to make us feel taken care of. He is fluent in many languages, including Spanish, French, Arabic and English, and makes his Riad feel like home.
It has lovely courtyard in the roof and a tranquil seating area on the bottom floor, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. We had breakfast there one morning and it was delicious! Also, Simon’s cat, Sisi, was very friendly and followed us into our room!
Overall, we had a lovely stay and I highly recommend this riad.

Lovely place. Simon, the host is very helpful he helps with everything you need. Great location in the middle of the Medina. It's not luxury type of accommodation but very cosy. Even though it in a loud area inside it is quite and peaceful.

We were immediately made to feel at home by Simon, a charming and helpful host. From the welcoming mint tea and biscuits on the rooftop terrace when we arrived to the farewell taxi, we could not have been better looked after. We loved our modest room with an amazingly comfortable bed. Breakfast at a very small extra cost, was superb every day — we particularly liked the coffee mildly spiced to Simon's grandmother's recipe. This is about as far from a commercial western hotel as you could imagine, and so much the better for it. It is located smack in the middle of the bustling Medina, a five minute walk along the crowded street to the main square of Jemaa el Fnaa, the historic centre of the city, where there is food, entertainment, people-watching.

I stayed for a week over the Christmas period at Riad Simon. The Riad is a small oasis of calm amidst the Medina — just off the famous and hectic Jema Al Fnaa square and on one of the main alleys heading into the souks. The rooms are comfortable and en suite — mine had a great shower and there is a small roof terrace for breakfast and relaxing. The staff are lovely and there is a general feeling of calm and homeliness. Simon himself holds it all together — his dedication to his guests and to providing a home away from home is remarkable. A genuinely nice and kind guy — I watched him treat all the guests with kindness and positivity — in a number of languages! As other reviewers have commented it is this that elevates Riad Simon — having a host who really wants you to enjoy your stay and goes above and beyond to achieve that. I would not hesitate to stay here again. Just outside the Riad are a number of decent cheap restaurants as well as the most fantastic juice stall — the avocado, strawberry, banana and date special is a must drink. Recommended.

The Riad stay right in the middle of the Marrakech market being perfect for those that don’t want to walk much and want to be in the middle of the city. Despite the movement on the street the room is silence and comfortable, having AC witch is essential during summer.

Two couples, aged 56-79 stayed at RAID Simon and we had a wonderful experience. The RAID is located in the heart of the median and close to all Marrakech attractions. We highly recommend staying here with Simon. His hospitality is unmatched. He welcomed us upon arrival with fresh Orange juice on the terrace and provided us with so much pertinent information and answered all of our questions. He also gave us his private number and checked back with us multiple times during our stay. It really felt like we were part of his extended family. The rooms were very comfortable with A/C and wonderful bed and linens as well as rose pedals in the bathroom. However, what really impressed me was that even though we had an 0400 taxi pick up (that he helped arrange) Simon personally showed up to make sure the taxi arrived and to see us off. If you are coming to Marrakech, this is the place you need to stay.

Simon made us so welcome and nothing was too much trouble for him. It made our holiday experience fabulous. The Riad was located in the heart of the city and ideal for exploring, it was also an oasis of quiet when you left the busyness of the souks.

Days after our stay, we have still been talking and comparing every other host to Simon. He has set the standard so high that we have not yet encountered anyone as good or close to as good as him, really. His warmth, friendliness and welcoming demeanour just absolutely set us off on our trip around Morocco on the bestest of ways.
The riad’s doorstep is the medina. Food all around and only like 3-5 minutes from the square. The breakfast was the best we’ve had in Morocco and the rooftop where its served is just lovely.
We are devastated that there was no space on our way back in Marrakech and we couldn’t book our stay there. Simon has earned himself a family in Berlin and we would welcome him with open arms anytime!

We are from Canada. Simon is great host and he went above and beyond in every respect. The moment we entered the Riad we felt it is our home. He is super detailed from presenting the breakfast to talking to guest and sharing the details of the city (where to eat, visit etc. ). The rooms were super clean and bedsheet and towels have been changed every day. The Riad has its own uniqueness and its very close to main square. We would highly recommend Simon and would definitely consider coming back.

I have never had a host like Simon, he was amazing. He ks very helpful, kind, trying always that you feel like home. He doesn't try to sell anything, he just wants that you have a nice stay. For the riad, is small but very well located. The rooms are clean and nice, and the breakfast is amazing. I recommend this riad 100%.

Out of all the hotels I stayed in Morocco, Riad Simon is the best one for its cleanliness and room setup. I am super appreciative of how the room was comfortable and has everything working well as well as the super friendly host Simon who recommended the artisan cooperative and an excellent barber that really made my Marrakesh experience great! Most importantly, unlike many hotels in historic Moroccan centers that are located in dark alleys, Riad Simon is well located near the main square and on a big road, so walking to and from this place always feels safe regardless of the hours. Highly recommend!

A gem in Marrakech! This property is a short walk from the market located in a narrow street filled with restaurants and shops. Behind a beautiful wooden door there is a comfortable central space with a central open space, a kitchen and one of the rooms. The floors above have comfortable rooms and the roof has a beautiful terrace.
This property was originally three houses that were razed to be replaced with a narrow section of shops along the street and Riad Simon in the rear. Simon and the architect did an excellent job of creating spaces on each floor that are open and inviting. Each room has a bathroom with its shower, sink and toilet. The room portion has a bed flanked by night tables. The construction was excellent, the stairs are uniform, joints everywhere are tight. (Moroccan travelers will understand that comment)
Simon and his staff made our stay a joy. Simon arranged our tours and was always available for every odd need like finding carry out at night. His brother and sister kept the entire house very clean and were so attentive during breakfast. We felt like we were truly their guests.
This is THE premier choice in this city.
