Riad Matham

I can totally recommend Riad Matham. It's in the Medina close to the photography and other museums. Parking and Taxi drop off nearby, lovely restaurants nearby and gorgeous interior and roof terrace. Beautifully styled rooms — some on the ground floor. Snug dining room with wood fire, wine and tagines and fabulous breakfasts. Most of all the host Hicham cannot do enough for you. I left a bit of my heart on Marrakesh and in that riad!

This was our first visit to Morocco and surpassed all expectations. The Riad we stayed in for 5 nights was truly authentic and the breakfast each morning was lovely. I cannot speak highly enough of Hicham, our host and his team. Nothing was too much trouble for him e. G arranging transport for us & he even walked us to our meeting point very early early in the morning to make sure we found it and were safe. He took our suitcases to the riad and same on return too. This made our visit so special and Marrakech is a wonderful place to experience. Well done Hicham and your team — we loved our time there.

We stayed in few different riads in Marrakech but this one was certainly our favourite. Beautifully curated, every detail felt intentional yet true to its Moroccan culture. There was even a turtle, how precious.
The people working at the riad were beyond lovely. Always going out if their way to help us, carried our luggage and made every request happen. Breakfast was delicious, different from what we had up until then.
The rooms are really big, but don’t feel cold during winter as the heating is very efficient. Loved that the bathroom layout prevented having the whole bathroom soaked in water after every shower, plus points!
The walk there is a bit tricky but after a while you will remember. Just overall a great experience and would return here for a longer stay! A great value for price.

This was our first stay after arriving in Morocco, and it truly set the bar high. We received the best service of all our stays in the country. We couldn’t recommend this place more. Thank you so much for the wonderful hospitality and for helping us get acquainted with Marrakech. The staff were absolutely delightful.

A really beautiful and peaceful riad, despite being in a busy part of the Medina. The rooms are beautiful. The manager was very helpful and kind, especially with meeting us when we arrived from the airport. The riad is hard to find for the first few times so being met is really useful. The breakfast was good and option of having dinner was good for late night arrivals. I think they actually sell beer and wine, but we weren't quite sure? Only disappointment was that our transfer to Essaouira was almost an hour late but I don't think that was the manager's fault. A good place to stay, and good value for money.

Our host Hisham arranged a taxi from the airport to the Riad, and he was there to greet us when we arrived. We had to walk a little to the Riad along the windy narrow streets and he escorted us along the way. Hisham was so helpful and kind. The Riad was absolutely lovely, quiet, and peaceful. Our room was spacious and comfortable. A lovely table was set for our dinner as well as for breakfast. Both meals were excellent. Don't hesitate to use this Riad when in Marrakesh.

We stayed for two nights at the end of our 10 day trip to Morocco and I have to say this was my most favorite Riad. It is in an excellent location. The building is absolutely stunning. The rooms are spacious and so comfortable. Hicham, the kind gentleman that manages the property is wonderful. The breakfast is SO delicious. The rooftop is a wonderful bonus. I just can’t stand enough wonderful things about this Riad. I would definitely stay here when I return to Morocco.

We spent six nights at this amazing place. This is the first time my wife and I have stayed at a Riad so were a little apprehensive. It was an incredible experience and we will definitely be staying at Matham again.
We were met by Hicham and his lovely smile at the taxi drop-off point. The hospitality on arrival was fantastic and the support with offline maps was a godsend. We were never lost whilst out exploring the souks and everything else Marrakech has to offer.
The Riad is beautifully appointed. The Wi-Fi and AC are the best we have experienced overseas. The place is spotless and the breakfasts were great. The roof terrace and views are amazing.
All the staff are incredible but a special mention must go to Hicham. I don't know when he rests or sleeps? He is a phenomenon.
All in all, an unbeatable place to stay and we can't wait for our next visit to magical Matham.

This is definitely the best Riad in Marrakesh!
Hicham was just the absolute best. He picked us up from the taxi drop off point to take us to the Riad located within the Medina. He absolutely would not let us carry any bags and insisted on carrying them all himself as we have been travelling. He showed us key points of interest along the way and gave us some good recommendations on places to go in Marrakesh.
Upon arrival at the Riad, Hicham showed us around, gave us tea and biscuits and gave us information on the Medina including a map. He also insisted we sit and drink our tea as he carried our bags to our room. He also helped us organise a trip to the Zagora desert for the following day.
Leaving the Riad the following day to go to the Zagora desert, he woke up early to make us breakfast before we left and took us to the pick up area.
The Riad itself was very beautiful, with tasteful rooms and well equipped amenities. The bed was very comfortable and the aircon worked great! I can understand (from other reviews) some guests may have found the traditional Riad style rooms to not be extremely sound proof but we didn’t have this issue at all and our room was very quiet.
The rooftop area was really a point of difference and the additional viewing platform placed the Riad a level above the rest of the Medina which had excellent views of the surrounding city.
There were also two little tortoises running around which was so cute and added to the charm of the Riad.

If you are coming to Marrakesh you need to stay here! We stayed in the Saadienne suite. Our room was incredible we couldn’t believe how beautiful the whole riad was. The roof is a lovely place to chill out, and we were a short walk from amazing sights and from some lovely restaurants with lovely rooftops.
What really set this apart was the team that helped us, all the staff were the most accommodating friendly people we have ever met. The breakfast every morning of our stay was the highlight of our whole trip to Morocco. When we arrived for our first night we had booked a dinner cooked for us, we were greeted with rose petals, a private dinner and the best food we had the whole trip. Every tagine we had after that we were comparing to the riad and none were as good.
Everything was clean, comfortable beds, great showers. Can’t wait to come back to Marrakesh.

The hospitality from Hicham and the ladies were exceptional. My flight got delayed and I arrived at midnight and I had no worries because they took care of the airport transfer and late dinner, even they made romantic table setting for us. They did everything from transport to laundry. The room was cleaned every day, the towels and tissues renewed daily. The breakfast provided was delicious and plentiful. The riad is very beautiful, clean, comfortable and has homey feeling, they also have rooftop if you want to chill. The communication with Riad Matham team is very easy since the beginning, they are very responsive. The people there are very considerate and polite as well.

Riad Matham is a perfect secluded oasis. The 7 rooms are all unique and offer slightly different size of accommodation. The riad has a beautiful feel, extremely clean and comfortable. We stayed in the Watterside room which was perfect and quiet and the bed was very comfortable, a great shower with plenty of hot water.
The manager, Hicham is such a wonderful host, extremely welcoming and helpful. We couldn't fault the service and friendliness of Hicham and the 3 other staff who relentlessly cleaned, cooked, and looked after us throughout our 7 nights.
The arrival & departure transfers were organised perfectly by Hicham, everyone was on time and ready to collect us and drop us back to the airport — we highly recommend taking this offer for a transfer.
We also took the offer of a homecooked meal on the evening of our arrival and it was all delicious. The breakfasts are wonderful, tasty and change slightly each day, and there is plenty of it.
The location of the riad is ideal for getting to all the sights in the city of Marrekesh. Hicham took us through all of the directions where to go and how to get there, recommendations for dinner and how to navigate our way around so we didn't feel the need for a guide and felt confident in walking everywhere and never get lost and found all of the places we wanted to visit without any issues. A few restaurants close by were wonderful and.
We highly recommend Le Slimana and La Trou au Mur which are both a 1 minute walk away.

Just arrived back home in London after 5 nights at Riad Matham.
Firstly, massive thanks to Hicham, who was an absolutely amazing host. If you are reading this Hicham, thank you so much for making this trip one to remember.
The Riad is truly spectacular with lots of space to relax and being greeted by the Riad residents Couscous and Tagine (the tortoises), was a great way to start the day.
We stayed in the Alaouite room, which was amazing. I’d highly recommend getting a massage and dining in at least one evening. The lamb tagine was easily one of the best we had all trip.
If you’re considering visiting Marrakesh, you won’t be disappointed staying here!

I’m in two minds about reviewing Riad Matham. On the one hand I want to rave about what a fantastic time we had and how we couldn’t have been looked after better. But to do so means I’ll be making it even more popular so, the next time I want to stay here, it’ll likely be booked up, or cost twice the price. I guess I can only tell it like it is…
Escorted from the airport transfer taxi through the maze of dusty, narrow alleyways to Riad Matham had us wondering what to expect (and we were thankful we didn’t try and find it ourselves). Then the door to the Riad opened and we were transported into an oasis of white walls, palm trees and a tortoise or two.
Our host, Hicham, took us through the essential map. Me app and provided us with a few recommendations on places to eat and things to see and do. The Riad is centrally situated in the Medina and no more than a 10 minute walk from all the main attractions.
The rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. An evening meal in front of a log fire was a wonderful experience. The rooftop terrace (with additional viewing tower, lifting it above surrounding riads) offered spectacular views across the Medina to the snow-capped Atlas mountains in the distance.
The service was fantastic. All of the staff were super-friendly and helpful throughout our stay, but special thanks must go to Hicham. He worked tirelessly to ensure we were happy with everything and nothing was too much trouble.

Simply WOW… My wife and I are seasoned travellers and we have stayed in many top end Hotels across the world. The Riad mathams hospitality is absolutely second to none. From the first greeting to the last, the service was beyond expectations and truly exceptional, nothing was too much trouble. The rooms are amazing, functional and very very clean. The location is perfect for everything in the Medina. I recommend booking the evening meal. We have a fantastic tagine in front of a roaring Log fire, Simply beautiful. The hotel comes with the highest recommendation possible. We absolutely loved our stay.

We just landed back in England after staying here for 4 nights and it's a beautiful riad. As most of the other reviews mention Hicham and his team are what make it exceptional. If you're reading this Hicham, then I want to thank you again for your hospitality and I hope that you and your family are well. Please don't overwork yourself! This is a beautifully appointed riad with friendly staff who go out of their way to help guests. It’s within easy walking distance of the big sites and has good restaurants nearby. We booked a transfer from the airport to the riad and got met and escorted to the riad by the owner, so we had no worries about finding it. Our room was enormous, with a large bathroom and everything was very clean. There are also lots of power sockets where you need them in the rooms! We were given guidance on navigating the medina along with helpful recommendations for food and things to see. The breakfasts were plentiful, delicious, and held in the charming courtyard next to the pool. There is a roof top terrace that is lovely. Definitely worth staying here!
