Riad Gallery 49 & Spa

Riad gallery 49 is hidden in small narrow alleyway like most Riads around the old city. The most pleasant factor is the hospitality of the hosts. We felt totally spoilt with the homely but luxurious teas, sweets, snacks, breakfast but also the fact they clean and tidy the rooms a few times a day. Absolutely loving the first day.

The decor is charming and elegant. The space is simple but has a very calming and peaceful feel. The modern furniture and natural materials create a relaxing environment. It’s easy to enjoy your time here because of how well everything is arranged.

We stayed at this riad was a beautiful experience. The place is peaceful, full of charm, and decorated with traditional Moroccan details. The staff was so kind and helpful, they made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. Breakfast in the courtyard was a lovely start to each day. We’d love to return.

We had a truly relaxing stay at Riad Gallery.
The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. The courtyard was our favorite spot, calm, green, and perfect for enjoying a mint tea.
The location is also ideal, close to the Souk but quiet. Staff were wonderful and always smiling. Thank you very much.

Staying at Riad Gallery 49 felt like being a guest in a Moroccan grandmother's home — if that grandma were a Michelin-starred chef, an interior designer, and a magician all rolled into one!
From the moment I stepped in, the staff greeted me with such warmth; I half-expected them to pull out a family photo album and point out where I fit in. The room was so cozy and stylish, I contemplated moving in permanently. The bed? It felt like sleeping on a cloud spun from cotton candy.
Breakfast? A masterpiece! Each bite was a flavor fiesta dancing on my taste buds. And the tea… It tasted like it was brewed from the secret gardens of Morocco.
If you're looking to live out a fairy tale in Marrakech, Riad Gallery 49 is your enchanted castle. Just be warned — you might not want to return to the real world!

Very nice and comfortable hotel. Has a very authentic vibe and romantic atmosphere. There was a fireplace in our room! The breakfast was very tasty and varied. Rooms are very clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Great place to stay.

We felt like family at Riad Gallery.
The staff went above and beyond to help with anything we needed from restaurant recommendations to arranging transport.
The riad itself is stunning, with beautiful tiles, calm music, and a cozy ambiance. We slept like in the heaven.
Highly recommended!

Cute, rustic family vibe riad in a great location just on the edge of the medina. Unlike other riads I’ve stayed in, this riad has a true authentic feel where the female run staff couldn’t do more for you. It’s not palatial or grand but the warmth exuding from the staff was unbeatable.
We enjoyed our stay hugely and felt very looked after. The girls would walk us wherever we needed to go and insisted on carrying bags and making us feel like princesses. We enjoyed a fire in our room on a cooler evening, breakfast everyday and drinks whenever we needed them. We also had the best Hammam massage ever.
The location is about 10 minutes from the souk and 15 minutes from the big square. We walked a lot — great location.
For the.

People working here are super nice. They help us with everything. Also make reservation for dinner. Always smiling and giving good tips. It was our first time in Marrakesh and we are so happy we choose this place. Beautiful, relaxing, good people. We want to come back again.

1. Very nice support staff. All of the ladies are very sweet.
2. Room is very nice and well designed.
3. Peaceful, tranquil.
4. Lots of delicious tea that’s unlimited.
5. Nice rooftop.
6. Free breakfast on the roof.
7. The Hammam was exceptional and definitely worth it.
8. We did have one issue, but they worked with us to resolve it and even gave us a little money back to make it right. You can’t expect everything to be perfect all the time, but you want to ensure that when things don’t go as they should that your hosts will make it right. And Riad Gallery 49 did that.

Wonderful riad tucked in the neighborhood of Bab Doukkala. The ladies who work there are amazing and are always available for help. They served me tea and a snack everyday when I come back to the riad during the day. Bathroom was fully stocked with really nice soaps and shampoo. My room always smelled and looked beautiful! The breakfasts are different every day and really lovely! I felt really at home during my 5 days there in Marrakesh.
Things to be aware of:
I stayed 1 night in the single room on the terrace and this was my least favorite as it was cramped. The bed faces a frosted glass door so light outside was in my face when sleeping. The bigger double room was much more comfortable. All rooms have a sheer curtain for the bathrooms so this could be strange for couples or friends staying together.
The rooms are tidied up throughout the day, not just once, if you come in and out. My things were moved around and put away in drawers and I had thought I'd lost things but they were just put away by the cleaning ladies lol. I had no problem with this but something to keep in mind if you don't want anyone inside your room while away.
The place is located in a bit of a maze of alleyways that look sketchy for western standards. But I never felt unsafe walking back at night. This goes for most of the streets in the old town.

We visited for a 3 night stay. The Riad is hard to find initially but you soon get your bearings and the staff met us from the transfer (we organised through them).
Our room was amazing, beautifully decorated and very clean. Breakfast was great and served to us on the terrace outside our room. We ate dinner once in the Riad and it was fantastic, lots of food, traditional Moroccan home cooking.
This was a special trip for us as a couple and the Riad staff could not have done more. Nothing was too much trouble, our room was cleaned daily, bins emptied twice daily and tea provided whenever we returned to the Riad, a lovely touch.
Attention to detail was evident. We felt like family but also very special VIP guests.
Cannot recommend more highly and we will definitely return.

Our stay at Gallery 49 was great. The hosts are very friendly and make sure the breakfast is delicious with a lot of variety, pastries, pancakes, fruits, orange juice, coffee and Moroccan mint tea.
They made sure to keep the rooms tidy during our stay, and the terrace was a great area to relax as well with a great view.
The only negatives is that the place is a bit hard to find and the water pressure can be low in the evening, which made it very hard to shower. Ended up filling water in a bucket to pour it over myself, but overall everything else was great.

We have just returned from an excellent stay at Riad Gallery 49. It is within easy walking distance of most of the attractions in or near the Medina.
From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. We were greeted with a delicious pot of Moroccon tea and cake. The rooms at the Riad are traditional. The rooms were cleaned thoroughly every day. The breakfasts were delicious.
The women who work at the riad work so hard but they always appear relaxed and happy. We found the meals in the evening to be delicious, traditional dishes all prepared my Fatima. Rahma seemed to do everything and anything. She is a delight. She always has a smile and, although we couldn't communicate easily, we soon discovered her wicked sense of humour. Always lots of laughs with Rahma.
We used the spa (including Hammam body scrub). Definitely to be recommended.
Taxis to and from the airport and tours can all be booked through the riad.
Definitely to be recommended.

This Riad is highly to recommend.
It is not a Riad with high end facilities but it is a Riad with big charme which is more worth than a pool or a lift. The ladies running this Riad are so friendly and helpful that you feel from the first second on as member of the family. The rooms are always clean and nice prepared. The breakfast is delicious and varies from day to day. If you wish dinner in the evening, you will be surprised by a high quality tree course meal. The Riad is located in a quiet area of Marrakesh but not far away from the souks and the Jemma el fna.
We are really happy, that we have chosen this great Riad.

I had an one day stay in Marrakech so I could be near the airport. I stayed at the lovely Riad gallery 49. The service was impeccable). When I made the reservation I told the host I was leaving at 5 am and wouldn’t require breakfast, she made sure I had breakfast prepared at 4:30 am! She arranged my airport transport, scheduled a massage and Hammam (I’m so clean again😂) they lit a fire in the dining room just for me, prepared a lovely dinner had candles lit in my room… she told me. ‘you’ll live the day of a queen with us’ and I sure did! ☺️ My room was beautiful, spotless and comfy.

Wow. I can’t say enough good things about this place. The women who work here truly made us feel like home. We were greeted late at night with tea and cookies and they helped us with the luggage to our rooms. The room was so comfortable! The shower was spacious with great water pressure. Everything was decorated so carefully down to the towels and rose pedals.
We stayed for a few nights but wish we were there longer. We did a cooking class and ended up getting a chance to talk and spend time with Fatima, Ghizlane, Khadija, and Zara. We also ended up doing a Hammam which was very relaxing! My friend got the facial and said it was absolutely worth it!
Not only was the service great, but it was some of the best food we ate in Morocco. It was fresh and the portions were great. We enjoyed breakfast and dinners on the terrace.
Honestly, the women who work here are some of the sweetest people you will ever meet! We felt safe and taken care of. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
