Lovely stay. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and the rooftop had great views for breakfast. Our room was compact but very clean and comfortable. The communal areas of the building were impressive and had everything we needed for a short stay.

I have just stayed for 3 nights in Riad Explore.
The location is excellent, it’s only a 5 minute walk to the main square and it’s in a very quiet street. The service provided by Walid was excellent, I was offered a Moroccan mint tea on arrival, he was very friendly and offered recommendations of things to do and places to eat. The room was very traditional, and I could use the pool and sit on the comfy chairs next to it to relax. The breakfast was nice, there was a good selection and I could try freshly cooked traditional Moroccan pancakes.
The views from the top of the Riad are stunning, I recommend catching sunrise and sunset.
I would recommend this to anyone thinking of visiting Marrakech,

The Riad Explore met all our needs during a recent 4 night stay. The most important feature of our stay was the attentive care from Oualid the Riad Manager who was always on-call, he was very accommodating and gave sound advice and recommendations.
The Riad is perfect for exploring the Medina, located on a quiet side alley just off one of the busiest narrow streets leading to the main Place (Jamma). It’s location allowed us to dip in and dip out of the Medina as required.
The Riad is small; our room was cosy, functional, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was served outside (additional layers required in winter) and homemade pancakes, crepes and eggs were cooked on demand — delicious!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Riad and would highly recommend.

Our staying here was perfect! We really enjoyed it. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Rooms are clean and comfortable. They also provided us with breakfast to take away.

Thank you so much Riad Explore for a wonderful stay. I spent 3 days with my 2 year old son and mother, and we loved it here. The staff were so kind and helpful particularly Walid who my son loved and looked for every morning. He was so helpful and really felt like a family. Traditional breakfast was made by the lovely sisters each morning on laid out on the terrace. Beautiful, clean Riad with wonderful roof top view. We felt safe and comfortable and the location was perfect. I would definitely return to Marrakesh and stay here, this Riad and the staff made our experience special, my son was missing Walid and Mohammed the minute we returned home.

Riad Explore is well positioned 3minutes from the main square. Oualid, our host, was very welcoming, helpful and chatty. The room was clean and well equipped with a kettle and small fridge with a small freezer compartment. We boiled the water and chilled it in the fridge and we were fine and saved using plastic bottles. The room was also equipped with dressing gowns, which I used when cooling off in the small pool. The breakfast was varied and we enjoyed eating on the terrace. We used the slightly larger pool at the sister hotel (Riad Africa). For free. The water was cool and very refreshing. We were provided with towels and made to feel very welcome. We were able to leave our luggage at the riad on the last day, saving us carrying it around in the heat. There were comfortable seats which we used just outside our room.
Also very good Wi-Fi in the Riad. I used a virtual sim from Saily which worked well for navigating around the medina etc. Also get transfer. Com. Much cheaper than easy jets or the riads transfer; half the price and very reliable.

Great in all senses! We stayed there for 4 nights and everything was perfect. Walid made us to feel like at home; always ready to help and to make us very comfortable. Very charming and peaceful place to stay. Thanks for all! Jan, Ona, Roc, Aldara and Víctor.

Very nice riad in the heart of the city. Everything was clean and tidy. Breakfast was excellent! Thank you very much to Oualid who made our stay fantastic, he is kind, friendly and attentive! He also made our breakfast really early in the morning so we could reach the airport without problems. I really reccomand this riad, an oasi of peace and calm!

We were transferred to Riad Explore after a tumultuous and emotionally draining experience at our first riad. The moment we stepped inside, it felt like a deep sigh of relief. The ambiance here is noticeably calmer, quieter, and more refined. It gave us space to breathe and begin to enjoy our time in Marrakech again.
What truly made this riad stand out were the people. Ayoub and Maria are the heart and soul of Riad Explore. Their energy is warm and genuine. They were cheerful, attentive, and incredibly helpful throughout our stay. Every time we spoke with them, it felt less like a transaction and more like a meaningful exchange. They are the kind of people who make you feel like you belong.
The room itself was lovely. A comfortable double bed, with a single bed we creatively used for our clothes. The wardrobe space was more than enough, and having coffee and tea refilled daily added such a thoughtful touch. The room was refreshed every day with care. The little dipping pool outside was cool, serene, and picture-perfect. Truly a beautiful place to pause and soak in the atmosphere.
Now, the one thing that kept it from being a perfect stay was the air conditioning. Unfortunately, it still didn’t get cold enough, and this was the very reason we were transferred from our previous accommodation.

I spent 10 nights at Riad Explore with my wife. What a lovely peaceful place, considering how close it is to the square. The location meant that we never had to walk far to get to an area we wanted to visit, a great bonus as we are both well into our 70's.
The rooms had all we needed, with a good air con. System, much needed after a hot day exploring. Breakfast is served on the roof terrace. I have to have a gluten free diet and the staff helped as much as they could. There are two Carrefour, both a taxi ride away, where I was able to stock up with extra GF bread.
Ayoub and Lahcen, the two young men who were in charge of the day to day running are superb, as was the rest of the team. Nothing was too much trouble for any of them. They gave us lots of helpful advice and were happy to answer any questions we put to them. We both thoroughly recommend Riad Explore.

My friend and I spent 3 nights here at the end of April 2025. The Riad is in a fantastic location — 5 minutes walk from the taxi rank and five minutes walk into the Square. There are a few great restaurants and bars on the same road. And 100’s more just a few minutes walk away.
The Riad is small but very clean. Our room was located on the Terrace which we loved. The breakfast was served on the terrace and it was lovely to just open our bedroom door and to be able to sit down and be in the breakfast area. The buffet was laid out ready for 8am, so we made sure we were there at the start as otherwise the food sits there. However, pancakes and eggs were cooked to order. The fresh orange juice was fabulous!
Yes, our room was small but adequate for my friend & I.
There is also a roof terrace with two sun loungers where we spent a chilled hour or two every day.
All the staff were lovely — very helpful and couldn’t do enough for you. A special mention to the two ladies who worked in the kitchen and cleaned the rooms. And an extra special thank you to the two men — Auoub and Lahcen who worked on reception. They answered all our questions, of which we had many! They were very welcoming and Lahcen even walked us down to their sister hotel Riyadh Africa so that we did not get lost.
They were brilliant. If I were to visit again, I would stay here.

The workers are nice but that’s not enough.
This place wasn’t worth $200+ USD per night. Not at all.
First, the host had a really bad cold when we arrived. I know this happens but it’s a small place and two days later. Our son has a cold. He should have stayed in bed.
Rooms are tiny.
We had a major ant issue in our bathroom when we arrived. Flying ants. Hundreds. After a few requests, the host bought spray for me to use. Thank you for that.
Breakfast is ok but a few issues: the ill host was in the kitchen. That’s just not good hygiene.
Also, the spreads are on a buffet table for everyone to share. Also not hygienic. Because it was outside and only some items covered by plastic wrap, there were birds standing on and pecking the sliced bread that people were eating. Guests didn’t know that birds were on their food. I don’t think the hosts at the Riad really cared.
Lastly, I know it’s small and you hear everything. However, when guests arrive in the middle of the night (after 1am), the staff should not turn on all the main lights so our rooms light up and people should be told to stay quiet. The new guests were sitting and talking loudly outside our tiny room windows and I woke up and asked them to be quiet and some of them laughed. The staff really didn’t care or think to encourage new guests to be quiet.
Will stay elsewhere.

The staff was lovely — the young boys were very nice and helpful — be aware most rooms are tiny — most have a loft to sleep where you can’t stand if your in an adult — the pictures don’t show that. Horrible sleeping arrangements if you were 4 people. Hotwire was not helpful — worst experience ever — The Riad is clean the free breakfast was ok. A lot of people felt tricked once there. You have been warned.

An absolute gem of a place. Great location, staff could not do more to help, they are so friendly. They organised a gorgeous birthday cake for my son's birthday which was really unexpected and such a sweet gesture. Rooms are a good size, complete with fridge, smart tv, very clean. Breakfast was delicious, Moroccan pancakes and a choice of eggs. Highly recommend and will definitely stay again if I am lucky enough to visit Marrakech again.

We were originally due to stay at the Riad Africa, this riad's sister riad but were moved. We were all little unsure but we couldn't have been more wrong. The staff we amazing and could not do enough to help us. We lost our safe key and they had to go out of their way to find it in the laundry, as well as organising paperwork printing for us. The rooms were super comfortable, the riad is beautiful, breakfasts were great, and the location was brilliant. Would go back in an instant. But it is the team who make this riad, thank you so much to Hamza and Yusuf who took such good care of us and went above and beyond to help us. We all can't wait to come back!

After a problematic journey (not helped by a 3 hour queue getting through passport control), we arrived around midnight.
My beloved Missus was expecting something more modern (she wasn't involved in the booking) and was quite taken aback. On the other hand, I was blown away. It isn't as big as I was expecting but that's down to individual perceptions.
Hamza gave us a friendly welcome but my beloved Missus was a bit tense because of the long wait at the airport and the late hour. I spent the first hour on the roof terrace drinking tea that Hamza brought for me, while watching the stars and surveying the city surroundings. My beloved Missus had been complaining to Hamza about our journey.
I apologised to him for allowing her to bend his ear. He simply told me not to worry and assured me that she would think differently by the end of our stay.
Our double room was of reasonable size. There was no window but this is traditional accommodation, although some other rooms do have a window.
The breakfast was excellent, with a reasonable buffet selection and eggs made fresh to order. I'm a cereal killer but I wasn't taken by the cereals on offer. In fairness, I'm thinking cereals are not popular in Morocco.
The Riad Explore is in a brilliant location. The Missus was beaming at the prospect of going into the market centre every day while not paying for excursions or transport as I had intended.

Breakfast was great with local and international food.
The entire Riad was extremely clean and we appreciate it!
