Riad Dia

Very dim environment at night and wasn’t much of a social vibe, rooms were freezing cold at night. Staff were nice can’t fault them.
However may not be the best place for a solo traveller in January, if I was coming in a group it may have been a better experience or I am sure it’s more of a vibe in Summer.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.
My original booking was with Riad Jennah Rouge, but they asked me to transfer to another hostel which called Riad Dia due to rain leakage in the room, by saying thay it is the same company.
However, they put me into cheaper room with more people in comparison with my original booking. When I asked for the price difference, all of sudden the host could not understand us/English, and just kept saying that "it is the same company".
It was getting even worse, the host came into the room in the middle of the night to talk with someone and woke up everyone in the room. Could you just awake that person up and talk outside?
There was a german couple who slept together on tiny upper bed and they made some different sounds all night, waking up everyone in the room.
In the end, the host asked us to pay 50 MAD per each suitcase to leave a luggage for a while, when Jennah Rouge host assured that it is for free.
The toilet is extremely dirty, and there are no any light coming inside the premise which quite depressing.

Riad Dia was one of my favorite hostel stays in Marrakech. The riad itself is social, and full of character.
Special shoutout to Mohammad, who genuinely made the stay better by helping with directions, buses, restaurants, and even carried bags up the stairs. Great spot for solo travelers and anyone who wants an easy way to meet people.

Perfect location, very friendly and helpful staff (Mahmadou and Abdul). Free breakfast. Lovely terrace where you can meet other travelers. 😊 rooms could be improved, especially the mattresses.

Everything is amazing here; great location and beautiful views! Also made so many amazing friends. The only note, coming from a Canadian, I am hot in those rooms! However, Mohammad and all the staff are amazing and super accommodating.

Riad Dia Marrakech – Unsafe Environment for Female Travellers.
My experience at Riad Dia Marrakech was extremely disappointing and concerning, especially regarding guest safety and staff behaviour.
When I first arrived, I was placed in a 9-bed dorm even though I’d booked a 6-bed. The mattress was broken and uncomfortable, and there was only one toilet and shower shared between 11 people. I stayed for three nights simply because it was already paid for and I was travelling on a budget.
However, the real issue — and the reason I’m writing this review — is the inappropriate and unprofessional behaviour from one of the staff members, Mustapha.
During my stay, I met a solo female traveller who was made to feel extremely uncomfortable by him. He behaved in a creepy and intrusive manner during her stay, and after she left the hostel, he found her on social media and began sending her inappropriate messages, including “you must come back to see me, I know you find me attractive. ” These messages continued until she had to block him.
This behaviour is completely unacceptable and shows a serious lack of professionalism and respect for guests, particularly women travelling alone. Hostels are meant to be social, friendly, and safe spaces — but this one is clearly not.
For that reason, I would strongly advise female travellers to avoid staying at Riad Dia Marrakech. The facilities are poor, and the conduct of certain staff members makes it an unsafe and uncomfortable environment.

I stayed here with my two friends and we all had such a good experience! From the rooms being in very good condition, to the staff being very accommodating and attentive, especially Abdul and Mustafa! They were very helpful and caring that it seemed like they were part of our friendship group! Not a bad thing to say about the hotel or the staff! Already planning our next trip.

Me and my friend had a great experience here. Abdul, also known as Mishmish, helped us a lot and gave us a really warm welcome. I would definitely come back here and see my friend again!

Good hostel, very friendly staff and good service. Rooms were nice and aircon worked in our room (bottom floor) but heard it didn’t work in other rooms which isn’t great for 30 degree nights. Free breakfast is very good and they let us store our bags for free all day after we checked out.

When I arrived, I was asked to pay cash upfront, which is fine. But, after I had already paid, they informed me that my room was not available. I had to stay at another hostel some walk away, that was not as nice. I had already paid my money before I was informed of this change, and was not allowed to see the room until I had paid. Very shady, very scammy.

TLDR; this hostel is unsafe for women, the hostel manager locked us in doors and pushed us.
We (two women) booked two beds a month in advance at Hostel Riad Dia, and then two weeks later sent a request to change the reservation two nights instead of three and received a message from the management that they understood and would change the reservation. When we arrived on the day of, the hostel manager demanded we pay the three days instead of two because he had not received a message from his boss to change the reservation. We had asked to call his boss, and instead he locked the doors with a key and demanded we pay the full amount on the spot. We managed to open a different door but the then he blocked it with his body and physically pushed us back. After a struggle where he was yelling and assaulting us, we managed to push past him and we ran out. The experience was very scary and completely out of line. This is an unsafe hostel for women so long as he works there.

I had an amazing stay! The service was really nice, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. The hostel felt completely safe, which made me feel comfortable the whole time I’ll definitely reviendra highly recommended.

I recently stayed at Riad Dia in Marrakech and I absolutely loved the experience. The riad is beautiful, calm, and very clean – a perfect place to relax and enjoy the atmosphere of the city. One of the highlights of my stay was the reception: there is a young man named Michmich who is very kind, welcoming, and professional. His attitude towards the guests is amazing, always helpful and respectful. Honestly, he made my stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommended!

I would give it 3, 5 stars. The Hostel is located in the Medina of Marakech. It's very close to the centre (5 min walk max. ), but you do have to go to small streets which can be uncomfortable when its night. The service was pretty good, when the airco broke down in my room they rearranged things so I could be moved to a different room. Very nice staff and they let you sleep outside if you want and you can buy water at the hostel. I wouldn't reccomend eating breakfast here, a lot of people got diarrea and the fridge doesn't look very clean. The Rooms had airco, but some of them broke down. Most of the rooms are very small, for the amount of people. (suitcase could'nt be opened on the ground). But they have airco. The bathroom and toilet was clean, but most of the showers couldn't be closed from inside, only the outside. So you need someone to close and open it from behind. Long story short, it's a decent hostel if you go with a group. But I reccomend something else if you go with two or one person.

The only room with air-conditioning, was very warm. Several bunk beds had terrible mattresses. Was in a darker alley that some people might not feel safe walking to.

I came to this hostel despite the common talk about it that the bathrooms are dirty and the treatment is not good, I found all of this talk to be a lie. The hostel is very good and comfortable and the people treat each other well. I advise you to come here.

I heard some people say that this hostel is neglected and its bathrooms are neglected, but on the contrary, I came to it and found it wonderful. The breakfast is excellent, the rooms are clean and safe, and the staff are very kind. As for the price, I don’t think you will find a hostel with this price and quality.
