Extremely Disappointing – Not Worth the Money Despite the Location.
We stayed at Riad Basidi and were honestly very disappointed. The photos online are completely misleading and do not reflect the real condition of the property. The riad is small, poorly maintained, and far from clean.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by a woman – most likely the manager – who asked us to pay the full amount for the stay upfront. After that, we never saw her again. For the rest of our stay, there was only one man running everything: cleaning, breakfast, pool area, guest support… Clearly, he couldn’t manage it all by himself.
Our towels were never changed, not even when we specifically asked. Two of our friends found cockroaches in their room, and when we mentioned this on the last day, we got a simple “sorry, ” but not even a symbolic discount – not even on a bottle of water. In fact, we were charged in full for every single bottle of plain water we consumed during the stay.
The pool was very cold, which might be fine for some, but the towels provided were dirty, and we had to ask for clean ones. There was no staff presence around the pool, so every time we wanted something to drink, we had to go downstairs and look for someone. Because of this, we believe the pool area is not safe for small children, as there’s zero supervision.
The only real positive is the central location, which makes it easy to explore the Medina.

Hammam and food were great. Please do yourself a favour and order the lamb with prunes.
Also, the personal was really nice and friendly. They helped me out even if I wasn’t a guest and printed my boarding pass for free, which was really convenient.

There may be nicer rooms in this place — I was stuck in a small, dark twin room on the top floor — so I can only comment on my own experience, which was overall fairly average. Check-in was delayed until ~4pm and when we did get our room there was no hot water (though later there was, and the next day too). Limited lighting made a dark room even darker. Only one power plug in the room, so the choice is lamp or charge! Terrible sleep on an uncomfortable mattress made worse by cheap, scratchy bedding, and somehow it was stuffy and warm even in winter. Staff were quite friendly, some with English, and happy to give me some coffee ahead of a pre-dawn exploration of the medina, which was nice. They also didn't bug me when I forgot to check-out on time (which was fair enough I guess given the late check-in). Location is great — out the door and straight into the action. Building may be old but appears new — not much in the way of authentic touches, fairly functional. Breakfast OK but nothing special. Wi-Fi very fast, and reached all the way up to my little garret. Overall, at the price I was underwhelmed — better quality bedding and more logical placement of plugs would help make it at least tolerable. But as it was, I was glad to stay only one night.

The location is ideal, just a short walk from the vibrant souks and key attractions, yet the riad offers a peaceful escape from the city's hustle and bustle.
In short, Riad Ba Sidi is a hidden gem that offers a perfect blend of comfort, hospitality, and culture. I can't recommend it highly enough and look forward to returning!

I was fortunate to stay in one of the luxurious suites, which was spacious and tastefully furnished. The blend of traditional elements with modern comforts made it a perfect retreat after a day of exploration. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a restful night’s sleep, while the private bathroom boasted both style and functionality. I appreciated the little touches, like the fragrant oils and plush towels, which enhanced the overall experience.

The staff at Riad Ba Sidi truly elevates the experience. Their warm and attentive service made me feel like a valued guest from the very first moment.

In the heart of Medina, this little gem is all what you need for your trip. We loved everything about it! Mohamed was so kind and nice and his pet dog snow was the nicest dog ever! We loved our short stay at this Riad and location was also 10/10.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Large and quite room away from the hustle of medina but close enough to pop in and out of souks. The staff, Muhammad and Fatima, are excellent to help with things and always friendly. Our 4.5 years old daughter also had a great time with the dog called snow. We loved it all, highly recommend it.

By far the best accommodation in Marrakech. I've been to a few but here the level of service, the beauty of the place, the friendly atmosphere and the wonderful dog. It has it all. Highly recommended.

We spent an extraordinary stay the staff at the top, pascal is too nice, and isabelle very nice even if we did not have the time too see, I had a blast in the pool, the breakfast too hearty and very good and I will come back with pleasure.
