I had a disappointing experience during my stay. Upon arrival, I was informed by a local citizen about issues with the area. Then, the host unexpectedly asked me to pay a 50 DHS per person tourist tax, which was not mentioned in the listing. This was confusing as I had already paid a similar fee through Airbnb.
The cleanliness of the property was unacceptable. The place was dirty, and to my shock, I believe there was feces on the bed cover. Many items in the property were fragile, poorly maintained, or dirty. The cleaning service was by far the worst I’ve experienced. I would not recommend staying here unless significant improvements are made.
Update: the host contacted me personally to threaten me, claiming they would come to my home. This is completely unacceptable. As a result, I am now pursuing legal action against the host to protect my rights.
First of all the pictures on Booking are not real, they are not even a little close to what is the Riad in reality!
The Riad is very dirty, walls damaged by humidity, plugs coming off the walls and there is an awful smell of sewage in the rooms. As soon as we arrived we straightaway notice the bad smell and the poor condition of our room, so we asked to have another room. They showed us a room at the first floor and it was even worse. The curtains and the wall were covered with flys, still a strong and awful sewage smell coming from the bathroom, the sheet were stained and dirty, pillows very dirty without a case. At this point we have decided to book another place and leave, this was at 11:30 pm traveling with a child of 11 years old.
We asked the owner for a refund and she refuse to do it. The area is not safe either, full of gangs of young kids running on motorcycles. I never experienced something like this before. Please don’t go there, it’s a scam!

This review is intended to provide a transparent view of Riad Amely, particularly for those considering booking based on the photos and descriptions found on sites like Hotels. Com. It also addresses the discrepancy between online ratings and the actual guest experience.
Our stay at Riad Amely was a very poor experience that did not live up to the online presentation. Upon arrival, we were shown to a family room that was in a state of disrepair. The room was not clean, the wall plaster was peeling, and the bathroom was in a miserable condition. The toilet was unclean, the shower tray was dirty, the shower head holder was broken, and the sink tap was loose. We immediately raised our concerns, stating that the room looked nothing like the pictures advertised. We were told this was the only family room available and no refund or cancellation would be granted.
After a heated discussion, the staff offered to move us to a smaller room for an additional charge. Since we are a family of four, we could not all fit. Eventually, they agreed to move two single beds into the new room, but this led to new problems.
Key Issues to Be Aware Of:
Misleading Photos: The accommodations do not match the pictures online. The quality of the rooms, particularly the family room we were initially shown, was far below the standard advertised.
Poor Air Conditioning: In the peak heat of summer, the air conditioning in our second room did not work properly.
