Equity Point Marrakech

I had a very disappointing experience staying at this hostel from March 19th to March 24th.
Before arriving, I arranged a taxi through the hostel and received confirmation twice that it was booked. The taxi never showed up. As a solo female traveler arriving in a new place, this felt very unsafe and stressful.
When I got to the hostel, they couldn’t find my reservation—even though I showed my confirmation. While standing at reception, I checked Hostelworld and saw that my booking had been cancelled without my consent.
I had originally booked an all-female dorm and paid a deposit. Instead of fixing their mistake, I was told to make a new booking and pay another deposit. I never got the first deposit back—and I didn’t receive the second one back either.
On top of that, I was placed in a mixed dorm, despite specifically booking a female-only room. Other guests later told me that this type of dorm doesn’t even exist at the hostel, which is very misleading.
I tried to resolve this directly, but the hostel has not responded to my messages or refunded my money.
Overall, this experience was stressful, poorly handled, and unprofessional. I would not recommend staying here.

We had an amazing stay at Equity Point Marrakech Hostel, but what truly made the experience special was Riham at the reception.
From the moment I arrived, she welcomed me with such warmth and genuine kindness that we immediately felt at home. She was always smiling, incredibly friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect during our stay. Whether it was helping with recommendations, answering questions, or simply checking in to see how things were going, her attitude made a huge difference.
Riham is exactly the kind of person you hope to meet when traveling — professional, attentive, and with a natural ability to make guests feel comfortable and valued. Thanks to her, the hostel had a much more personal and welcoming atmosphere.
We would definitely come back, and a big part of that is because of her. She’s a real asset to the team!

This is my second time staying here and we were welcomed by lovely Riham. She is so so welcoming and explained everything about the hostel so well — including a super smooth check in and lots of laughs within the first 5 min of arriving! All the other staff has been so lovely as well — which is why we’re coming back for a third time in a few days. The hostel is so beautiful and the perfect place to stay when visiting Marrakesh! It the perfect oasis for a break after being in the busy souks.

The hostel it’s very nice, stuff very smiling and welcoming especially Riham the girl at the reception, she hehe me tons of suggestions of activities and place to eat and visit. The hostel is in a quiet part of the Medina but very central! Room are clean and nice, bed at comfortable only thins there no privacy bed curtains. Rooftop super cool with gray view. Overall very good experience.

The staff at the front desk were absolutely wonderful!
They were very accommodating and very kind to my 75 year mother (who had travellers sickness and from the stress of travel from the day before)
Felt so safe and secure at this hostel within the Medina, Felt like a little boutique hotel and their private rooms look absolutely gorgeous although we just got a four room dorm but was amazing being on the pool level, ground floor and easy access for my mother.
The location is amazing. Super close to the centre and nice rooftop view… The staff made our stay especially good though!

Equity Point Hostel is very well located in the Medina, about a five-minute walk from Jemaa el-Fna and surrounded by sights, food spots, and small shops. The dorms are clean and relaxed, with en suite bathrooms but no bed curtains. Private rooms look comfortable, though expensive for a hostel. The space is one of its strengths: a pool for warmer months, several chill areas, a rooftop with sunbeds and views over Marrakesh, and a bar that works well for hanging out. The restaurant is convenient but not the best value. Friendly staff and an easy social atmosphere make it a good base in the city.

A beautiful property with wonderful staff, but some policies diminish the experience.
The hotel offers excellent value with genuinely helpful staff and spotless, well-maintained rooms in a stunning setting. However, two operational policies significantly detracted from an otherwise great stay: the bar and restaurant operate on a strict card-only basis, and coffee service before 11am is only available if you purchase the full breakfast package. These restrictions felt surprisingly inflexible for a hospitality setting and took away from what could have been a more welcoming atmosphere. Despite these frustrations, the property’s other qualities make it worth considering—just be aware of these limitations before booking. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

I stayed at this hostel for a while and unfortunately experienced repeated issues with professionalism at reception.
On multiple occasions, I was made to wait an excessive amount of time (from 10 minutes up to nearly an hour) just to enquire about hostel-related matters or make simple purchases, while the staff member on duty was engaged in personal conversations with other guests. This happened more than once and significantly affected the overall guest experience.
I also observed that non-guests were allowed to enter the hostel premises despite clear signage stating that only registered guests are permitted beyond certain points. Wristbands were not consistently checked to ensure that individuals on the premises were paying guests, which raised concerns about safety and policy enforcement.
Additionally, there was a lack of basic communication and follow-through. Plans initiated by staff—for example, being told to return in 10 minutes to complete a booking—were changed without notice, leaving me waiting unnecessarily. While how staff choose to spend their time during a shift is not my concern, clear communication, reliability, and respect for guests’ time are basic expectations in a service environment.

I stayed here and overall it was a fantastic experience. The hostel is clean, comfortable, and has a really good environment — definitely one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in.
The only disappointing part was the restaurant terrace policy. You can’t use the terrace unless you pay for breakfast, and the staff stopped me when I tried to go up. The breakfast buffet is a bit expensive, includes no water, only hot drinks, and just one small 100ml glass of orange juice with no refills allowed.
Aside from this, everything else about the hostel was great and I enjoyed my stay.

Incredible beautiful Riad! The commons spaces are beautiful and very comfortable, beautiful pool, great architecture all around the place, 5 minutes walking to all the places… They have a nice rooftop great to watch the sunset, also a bar upstairs very chill but great to grab a beer! I was supposed to stay just 2 days and decided tho extend for another day. Highlights to Staff that was always kind. I had a small issue with the booked shuttle from the airport but they helped me and refunded so all good!
The breakfast was very good too and the cat a prince 😍

Very safe hostel with everything you need.

Clean compared to other hostels in Morocco.
24h reception and a security guard in front of the door, lockable rooms and free lockers in the dorm.
Breakfast buffet was nice, 80 dirhams.

Con:
We wrote to them about an airport pickup and they replied and asked us to send our flight number to confirm it. Then they never replied back and no one came to pick us up.
Also when we arrived during the night there was no clean bed in the dorm for one of us and also there was no fresh blanket to be found anywhere so I spent the night in used sheets.
The dorms could be better equipped: no curtains, no reading light or nightshelve.
The bathroom is directly en-suite with the dorm so it’s quite loud.

Very bad. The hostel is nice and clean and in a great location, but it's a shame they don't know how to do their job.
I booked a tour of the Merzouga desert with them and they put me on the first tourist tour consisting of people of a single nationality and a guide who didn't speak English, so I found myself totally alone and had a bad experience.
Furthermore, they didn't want to listen to my requests and stuck to their guns.
Don't book experiences thinking that they are managed by the hostel because that's not the case.

This Hostel is such a good Place to relax, work and meeting good people. I slept like a king in those beds! Could you please tell me the brand or model of the mantras? I would be so happy to buy one for my flat!

Bad Experience – Overpriced and Poor Service.
We arrived around 2 AM, booked online for €800, but at check-in they charged €1, 100, adding extra fees for keys and towels. The room was overpriced, the bed sheet was dirty and smelly, and the overall service was poor. We were exhausted and had no choice but to sleep in that condition. Definitely not recommended.

We had one of the worst hostel experiences here. We arrived late around 2AM after a long journey, and instead of being welcoming, the staff were rude and unhelpful. We were exhausted, carrying our bags through the Medina (almost 4 km) only to find out they charged us €108 + deposit, even though the app showed €80 when we booked. At that hour, they knew we had no other options nearby.
Check-in was painfully slow, they asked for endless documents and wasted a lot of time. Nobody even showed us to our room – we ended up wandering around the hostel at 2:30AM trying to find it ourselves. The deposit hasn’t even been refunded yet. For the price we paid and the treatment we got, it was extremely disappointing. Would not recommend to anyone arriving late or expecting decent hospitality.

The young lady at the reception has no idea that she works in the hospitality business and is clearly a liability to this business. She has a pretty face but she is rude to customers and unable to communicate clearly, let alone listen. Other members of staff were trying to calm her down but no avail. When there is a problem then there should be a way to contact a mamager. Currently, these simple things are not availble.

This hostel is stealing from its customers. I was a victim of fraud.
I booked at Equity Point Marrakech through Hostelworld. Upon arrival, they demanded a €40 cash deposit with a promise to return it at checkout. On the day I left, they did not return anything. Later, via email, they claimed the amount was refunded to my card — which never happened.
I have sent over 30 emails requesting a proof of transfer, and the hostel has simply ignored me. To this day, I have not received my money nor any evidence of a refund. My bank confirmed that no refund was ever processed.
This is outright theft. A place that treats its guests this way should not be allowed to operate. I am reporting this case to authorities and all major travel platforms. Do not trust this place.
