We stayed for two nights to kick off our 10-day trip through Morocco. The riad is tucked away down a narrow lane with an ornate wooden door leading to a relaxing oasis in the Medina. We were welcomed with a hot earthy spearmint tea that included a touch of bitterness without sugar accompanied by a couple little powdery pastry / scones. We completed some paperwork, received a brief tour of the various common and rooftop areas before arriving at our room on the 1st floor (2nd).
Our room (Gaya; #2) was beautifully appointed, spacious, and inviting. A dual vanity bathroom with shower and unique little shutters on the windows were also a nice touch. We had breakfast on the rooftop one morning and in the main atrium the next; both locations were great settings and the meals were fantastic. Breakfast included msemem and baghrir with jams and honey, fresh fruit, cheese, freshly squeezed orange juice and coffee. The only regret we had was not making reservations for dinner at the riad while we stayed; we imagine it would have been just as delicious!
The location of the riad was excellent as well, as was a 10-minute walk from the main square and about a 25-minute walk to the secret garden. Last, but certainly not least, the staff was consistently accessible via a bell at the front desk and anytime we arrived back to the riad (need to knock to gain access).
