Soho Suites in Q&A

Information is provided based on reviews and may contain inaccuracies.

Where is Soho Suites located and how convenient is it to get to the beach and the city center?

The hotel is located in a quiet area in the center of the city of Bar. The sea is within walking distance, approximately 5-10 minutes away. A gym, children's play areas, and an Aroma store (about 300 meters) are in the immediate vicinity. Guests note convenient access to city amenities and proximity to tennis and football fields.

Does the hotel have parking?

Yes, the hotel provides a large parking area. It is located just a few meters from the entrance, which is very convenient for guests.

How does the reception operate and how polite is the staff?

Guest opinions are divided. Many praise the staff for their friendliness, efficiency during check-in, assistance in solving problems, and providing the option of a late check-out free of charge. However, there are complaints about the rude behavior of one reception staff member, who acted arrogantly when discussing check-out times and the tourist tax. Overall, the staff are described as positive and responsive, though isolated conflicts do occur.

Are there any hidden fees or deposits upon check-in?

Reviews mention a situation where guests were required to pay the tourist tax despite holding a residence permit (VNZh), which caused dissatisfaction.

What breakfasts are offered at the hotel and what is the quality?

Breakfasts are not served as a buffet, but from a menu where you can choose one main dish and a coffee; other items are paid for separately. The quality of the food is viewed inconsistently: one guest described the breakfasts as normal, while another considered them mediocre, noting that the French toast resembled ordinary store-bought bread and the latte lacked a coffee taste.

Is drinking water, a kettle, or a coffee machine provided in the room?

Rooms are equipped with a kettle and a capsule coffee machine with capsules. However, some guests encountered issues: one noted a lack of water for making coffee, and another guest found the coffee machine to be malfunctioning.

How stable is the Wi-Fi at Soho Suites?

One guest reported that the hotel Wi-Fi was not working during their stay.

Are the beds comfortable and does the room decor match the photos?

The room decor is modern, stylish, and minimalistic, though one guest noted that in reality, they are not as beautiful as in the photos. The main complaints concern additional sleeping arrangements: the "futons" or sofa-beds are described as very hard, small, and uncomfortable. The main mattresses are generally rated as comfortable, although there was one complaint regarding a squeaky bed.

What is the view from the room windows and are there balconies?

The rooms feature balconies. Depending on the location, the windows offer a view of either the sea or the mountains. Guests recommend choosing rooms with mountain views during the summer period to avoid the room overheating from the sun.

How is the room cleaning organized and how clean is the hotel?

Most guests are satisfied with the cleanliness and quality of the housekeeping. However, there are detailed complaints about shortcomings: a dirty toilet, stains in the kettle, untucked sheets, and irregular towel changes. It was also mentioned that while trash is removed, empty bottles may be left next to the bin, and toilet paper is not always replenished.

How do the air conditioning and ventilation work?

The hotel has central air conditioning. In general, it works well, but one guest gave a lower rating specifically because the air conditioner in their room was not effective enough.

What amenities and equipment are available in the room?

Rooms are equipped with a hairdryer, slippers, toiletries (shampoo, shower gel, soap), a kettle, and a capsule coffee machine. There is also a mini-fridge. Regarding negative experiences: guests complained about empty hair conditioner dispensers, a lack of soap upon arrival, a shortage of slippers for a third guest, and a lack of shelves in the shower area. Problems with faulty outlets in the bathroom and broken blinds were also mentioned.

Is the hotel suitable for a vacation with children?

The hotel is suitable for families with children. Guests highlight the presence of a good children's playground on the premises, which makes staying with a child more convenient.

Overall, all is good 😊 Nice receptionist checked me in fast, escorted me to the room, showed around. The design is modern and lovely, two balconies, nice view. Clean bedding, comfortable mattress. The hair conditioner — at first it felt more like a body lotion, and even if it was, it did some magic to my hair 😅🤩
Now on not such a bright side … as a fellow hotelier, I have an eye for many things and would like to share them as a “room for improvement” rather than a critique although other guests might take those things much more serious:
Housekeeping.
1. Toilet hasn’t been cleaned in a while it seems 🤢
2. There was no soap / soap dispenser when checked in — thankfully receptionist brought one.
3. The room is set for 2-3 persons yet there was only 1 pair of slippers.
4. Stains on the bottom of the kettle.
5. Bed sheets are not tucked in!
Technical.
1. The side lamp is on the wardrobe 🤔🤨
2. One lamp in the bathroom is hardly working; should have been replaced before check-in.
3. Sockets in the bathroom are sticking out 😱
4. Plastic toilet seat: not by size of the toilet, not a 5* level and not a long lasting solution in general.
5. Bed is creaking.
6. Cupboard door (where minibar is) doesn’t close properly.
7. A filler / plaster is coming off in the shower.
Overall.
1. Low quality toilet paper.
2. No bathrobes (even by request)
3. No shelf in the shower.
4. The dispenser for shower gel doesn’t work, had to scoop it out.
5. No water for making coffee.

10/10

The hotel itself is excellent – clean, comfortable, and well-managed – but what really stood out to me was the warmth and genuine care of the people who work here. They treated me not just as a guest, but as a valued person going through challenging circumstances, and for that I am truly grateful.
I highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking not only a great place to stay, but also exceptional people who care deeply about their guests. Thank you again for everything.
Mohamed and the family,
Egypt.
