The entire hotel is magical. I was attended by Juan and Salómon, both excellent people and 100% attentive in everything. Facilities 10 of 10.

They were very gracious, the price was reasonable, the grounds were amazing. The biggest takeaway was the quality of the excursion, we did an early morning private tour of chichen itza with Abel adonay, he was exceptional. Later we have a jungle trip to a cenote. Highly recommend to support this community after the pandemic.

First and foremost, what a amazing hotel! Everything was beautiful. Post Covid, the lodge
still hasn't opened the entire grounds, but it doesn't matter. There is still so much to see and do. We got to tour everything. Chichen Itza, cenotes, and all the beautiful historic towns. Solomon, at the front desk took care of everything. They have excellent drivers and tour guides. The restaurant and its staff are gracious and helpful. You can't go wrong staying at the Lodge at Chichen Itza.

Sunrise Tour was the best! Highly recommended if you go to Chichen Itza! Even if you went there before, that Tour is a completely different experience.

It was managed by Grayline team who arranges chihen itza trip. We stopped by here for lunch. N I am lucky that I got to see this 16th century bungalow which turned to hotel now. The lunch buffet was amazing and the place has it's own charm and magic surrounded by years old trees. Seems the nature itself nurturing and saving it. The mini bar iui s also a must try thing here.

1st of all no elevator and it was hot so hot staff was friendly helpful almost everyone spoke English food at the restaurant every day was so amazing pool was beautiful grounds beautiful would definitely return to this property.

Carlos at the front desk was amazing! We accidentally booked the wrong date, and he fixed it for us with no issues. The breakfast was delicious. The tour guide Luis was great. Chichen Itza was amazing. Our only complaints would be the loud sounds of all the insects at night.

I stay two nights in this beautiful hotel, people are so nice, landscapes are amazing and the room is very comfortable. If you want to have a good journey, come here! My family and I don't speak spanish but people help us and they learn us a lot!

Their buffet is excellent especially the yucatecan food.

Perfect location right next to chichen itza. Amazing observatory view!

Do not eat at the buffet. We went to eat there on our visit to Chichen Itza and there were worms in the fresh fruit pile. I had peeled a grapefruit and found maggots wriggling inside. Plus the food is just nasty, tastes funny like it may have been expired or something. If I could give it 0 stars I would. Don't eat here.

Unfortunate to give this place 1 star as the grounds of the hotel and the main building itself are really beautiful. The key issues during our stay here were: 1. They got the room wrong, it was meant to be a double bed but they provided a room with two single beds and no alternatives as they were fully booked. 2. Plumbing is from the distant past, so drainage in the shower and the toilet for our room was poor. 3. Food options are either a buffet (330 pesos per head) or a la cart restaurant selling the same items, but both have meats cooked till they're dry and very overpriced for the area. 4. No Wi-Fi in the room, just in the lobby. 5. Lunchtime entertainment comes out as traditional singers and dancers who have to perform in the middle of the buffet — so fairly awkward to get your lunch and eat as you have to avoid dancers who are clapping by your table. All said, the service was very good and, must emphasize, the grounds inside the hotel resort were amazing; however, we're now convinced there are better options nearby for Chichen Itza visitors.

Very nice place in the middle of nowhere. The tropical garden is so cute. Very close to the maya ruins. Awesome lunch buffet for around 10-12€ and very friendly staff. Wish I could stay longer…

Great hotel! Great staff and great location.

I'm only reviewing the 295 pesos ($15/13€ w/o drinks nor water) buffet. I expected a complete rip-off. It actually was not so bad, there's a lot of variety. You can find a little bit of everything : local, Mexican and international.

This place was delightful. Adorable historic bungalows and lodge, nicely landscaped and a pretty pool to boot. Don’t get your hopes up about the restaurant but take solace in the quick entry to Chitchen Itza. We hired a guide (Victor) for $900 pesos and it was well worth it. He even brought us an umbrella.

A different hotel. Traditional rooms or in a typical super-equipped house. Environment coupled to the nature of the place. Unbeatable access to the archeological zone. The biggest, cutest tree in the driveway.

A chic vintage hotel in the "colonial" style, a decent restaurant, a large green area, but the main plus — its entrance to the complex Chichen Itza.

Can't beat the ultra-privileged location, hotel has a "private" entrance to the archeological site, your only hold-up is the laissez faire of the morning ticketing crew to beat the massive crowds. Comfortable rooms, big beds and nice breakfast at great online rates.

The hotel is very nice. The view from the room is unbeatable. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The access to Chichen Itza is a plus.

Great room, staff helpful & friendly. Great location for seeing Chichen Itza. Only downsides are meals are a bit expensive (for area) and are so-so in quality. Other than that is great. (Many highly rated great restaurants in nearby town of Piste only a few dollars away in cab)

This hotel is located on one of the most beautiful places on earth. It is overlooking Chichen Itza observatory. The archaeological park is bordering with the hotel premises, so going to see the pyramids was easy. The hotel is comfortable, and the bungalows are charming, located in a well groomed garden.

The checkin was smooth. The staff was very friendly. The room was absolutely top, on site have received an upgrade of the highest category for $30. The room was clean and large. The bed was absolutely top. The whole facility fits great in the surroundings, on foot it is about 5min to the ruins.
Actually, everything was fine, only the restaurant is a bit overpriced. Breakfast was not included in our room rate of €140 per night and the Internet is only free in the lobby, otherwise it costs an extra charge.

We stayed during a round trip for one night at this hotel.
We slept in one of the small houses on the premises (the standard rooms are located in the large main house).
The spacious grounds are well maintained and invite you to relax.

I made a reservation online 3 nights ago. The reservation was meant to be for February 7, 2018. I received a confirmation email and moved it directly into my travel folder. My niece sent me a text message last night and said that the confirmation email stated that the hotel reservation was for the night after I made the reservation on October 27, 2017. I called the hotel and no one answered. I sent them an email and nobody responded. I called the hotel again this morning and they told me it we're sorry you missed your reservation there's nothing we can do about it. I explain to them that I live in California and I'm not going to be down in the Yucatan Peninsula until February. They refused to help me. I understand that it was probably my error that put the wrong date in the calendar or that it had reset when it went to the next page of the booking and I didn't notice. But the customer service was absolutely horrible they absolutely refuse to listen to me and do anything not even change the booking for another date for a fee. So I paid $100 for a hotel room in a country that I'm not even in for another several months. : — (

Beautiful hotel! Everything about the hotel itself was amazing, there was so much attention to detail. I was very impressed with the history of the hotel, the woodwork, and landscaping of the grounds. My family and I also loved and took advantage of the private entrance to Chichén Itzá. Unfortunately, one major issue we had here was the restaurants that were apart of the hotel. They were SO over priced! The hotel has definitely definitely created a monopoly when it comes to the food. Because of the location of Mayaland Hotel, there is nowhere else to eat, you're pretty much forced to eat at their extremely over priced restaurants. It's good, but it's not like the food is worth the extra amount you have to pay. Be vary careful of the waiters, they are really sneaky. Our waiter asked my wife and mother-in-law if they wanted fruit with their breakfast, which they decided to do. But then I also received fruit, even though the waiter never asked me and my meal didn't include it. He also gave everyone juice without asking. After it was all said and done, we received our bill and were very confused at the cost. There were many discrepancies, my meal not including the upgrade I never asked for, was more than the price on the menu for some strange reason. He just said that the kitchen made that mistake, but that was a flat out lie when he was the one who wrote down our orders and wrote the bill.

At the heart of the Maya site, you will find peace and refinement.

A great hotel in a picturesque location.

Clean and super friendly. Upgraded my room for free since a little bit nicer one was available. I was here during the slower months though so I wouldn't expect that. Just beautiful scenery and all the amenities you could want. There access to the ruins are second to none. Walk from your room right to ruins. Well you have to pass there amazing courtyards. They have bungalows as well.

A dream in the Yucatan jungle.
In addition to the often mentioned perfect location to Cichen Itza, I would like to point out that the hotel itself is an attraction.
The almost 100 years you can see the plant. You rarely find a hotel that exudes so much charm.
All the furniture is made of solid wood, many windows from lead glass, the garden/park is very nice and the food is also good.
It is also worth staying 2-3 days and visiting the attractions in the area.
E. G. Ek Balam, Coba, Merida etc.
If you are looking for peace and relaxation, this is the place.

Great colonial-style hotel, big grounds, there's a lot of greenery around. The hotel is 95 years old. A lovely breakfast and a kitchen in general. However, breakfasts are not included in the room price. The staff is sincere and friendly. The rooms are very large overlooking the park with the pyramids. Bathroom with window. Loved.

Very good hotel in fantastic location to the Mayan ruins. Great service, good food and nice breakfast. The ruins have a private entrance, making it one of the first in the morning.

Average hotel I was only here because of the tour at lunch. In principle, I think a couple of nights here would be able to live, but not anymore. But every day I would go through the territory of Chichen Itza and looked at this temple complex.

The facilities are beautiful, you have a beautiful view of the ruins of Chichen itza. The deal is excellent staff. The Yucatecan and Mexican food are first, when one is eating there are typical dances's Yucatan.

Beautiful and well maintained bungalows in quiet surroundings even though next to a wonder of the world. Our experience at Maya land was unforgettable and wonderfully surprising. I would go there again just to spend couple of days in beautiful quiet space.

My wife and I spent the first week of our honeymoon here and couldn't have been made to feel any more special. Having just spent the week prior at an all inclusive hotel, we weren't expecting the height of luxury; especially given that we had paid for the cheapest available room. Our first impression of the Mayaland was one of disbelief; here was a beautiful colonial-style hotel, surrounded by jungle and a stone's throw away from Chichen Itza (you can see the observatory from several locations around the building). The staff were so welcoming, making us instantly feel at home, and after learning that we were on our honeymoon they insisted on upgrading us to a suite. Having seen the "standard" rooms, I can say we would have been perfectly happy if we'd not had the upgrade, but the suite itself was simply beautiful; exquisite wooden carvings adorned the room, with a jacuzzi in the bathroom and a balcony affording views of the hotel and jungle. The food available at the restaurants was fantastic; there was a buffet lunch available, with a large range of foods on offer (the tacos were my favourite! ), but it was possible to have lunch in the a la carte restaurant as well. The restaurant is also where breakfast and dinner was served, with some great choices on the menu (particularly the filet mignon). Our room was kept extremely clean by the staff and we'd find new flowers and towel sculptures after they'd finished.

Would recommend this to anyone, great choice of a bungalow great for families or also the main building. Beautiful rooms fantastic outdoor dining with lighting effects and one of the few hotels located on the actual active archaeological dig sites you can walk to the pyramids close by.

We had problems with our toilet and bathtub, and they took hours to send someone to fix and then someone to clean. No apologies from the staff.

Cozy, quiet place. There are rooms with a view of the pyramid of ČičenIcy.
