Enough cannot be said about the Zamas Hotel + Restaurant. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! We have travelled to many places around the world, and this one is top of the list. Friendly, super helpful staff, beautiful peaceful cove, great food, room service, laundry service, wonderful for a large family as ours. Close to Mexi-divers which offers great tours. Close to Mateo’s which has great food. Just the perfect spot in Tulum. Can’t say enough about the kind staff as well… Illiana, Frieda, Maunuel to name a few made our stay so pleasant and memorable. All smiles and glad to help whenever we needed something.
Hammocks by the room were a nice touch. Don’t go here if you want to party or be on the internet all day. Wifi can be sketchy. This is a place to unwind and relax in the beauty of nature with beautiful souls.

Great staff! Always accommodating. We are a family of 5 and we take up a lot of space. So nice and the service is amazing. Quite rooms, great food.

I loved staying at Zamas! The entire team were beyond helpful — Iliana and Daniel at the front desk and Abel, Manuel and everyone else at the restaurant. The food is yummy AND healthy — a big plus. The location is perfect, right on the beach and still quiet while also being close to restaurants. I am so glad I stayed here and I am excited to one day return! Best wishes, hasta luego 👋 ☀️ 🏝

Every aspect of my experience at Zamas was excellent and memorable. The food was outstanding & the accommodations were beautiful. The staff was what really enhanced my family’s experience. We are already planning a trip back next year.

I love Zamas! The bungalows are cute, comfy and clean, food is top-notch (don’t miss happy hour! ) and located right on the beach. Live music and the friendliest staff ever round out this Tulum gem.

The fish tacos are SO good here! Went perfectly with my watermelon margarita! And you can’t beat the setting, looking right out over the beach. Would totally come back!

We dined at this restaurant on our last vacation, the place doesn't look as chic as others from the outside, but if you get in you'll be welcomed by a very accommodating staff and a limited yet delicious menu. We enjoyed the happy hour offerings and everything we ordered was just perfectly cooked, seasoned and served. I would definitely recommend the place to visitors looking for a seaside nice dinner.

$3.50 for bottled water! Sheeesh. My Nachos came smothered in MAYONNAISE. What's with this place? Everyone has NO REFRIGERATION, NO A/C. Mayo in this heat? No! No food poisoning today thanks. Waiter said it was sour cream. Right. I guess he doesnt know what sour cream tastes like.

From the perfect views, the fantastic meals, and the most friendliest staff in Tulum, Hotel Zamas is my favorite place to stay. It’s just a welcoming and fun place to be. The rooms are charming to say the least!

We are sadly leaving tomorrow… we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cabaña we stayed in was great and I cannot say enough about the very attentive and friendly staff. We had an amazing trip in large part to selecting the Zamas hotel. The restaurant is so great, too, with your own private beach area. Highly recommended.

By far one of the best places to stay in Tulum! The rooms are clean, the staff is great, and the view is unbeatable! The seaweed is pretty bad this year (2018) and the staff does their best to keep the beach clean — even though they have no control of it, but it’s hardly even noticeable when you take in the entire view of the beach from you room, and at night it’s even more relaxing! We will definitely stay here again! Oh, and if you get to meet Chula (Owner’s dog), she loves to play fetch with the guests!

Somewhat expensive although beautiful setting, small cabins right in front of the beach, each with their own pair of hammocks.

This place is off the hook with beauty and service! The location is perfect… so perfect I will be marrying my Queen there next year! The staff were fun to talk to everyday. When I travel to Tulum I keep a taco/cerveza/tequila diet which keeps my stomach feeling great. There is nothing to complain about from me!

It'S a place to spend a romantic evening. Kitchen simple, but with good taste. And in the evenings there is live music, with the candles and the sea, you spend a wonderful moment.

Amazing Property with Amazing Personnel! True Tulum Gem! Stayed on the property for nearly a week, as part of a wedding party. From day one of arriving nearly 20 hours after my wife's and my flight (from Dubai) we were greeted by hands down one of the most personable, friendly, and professional front of house staff members I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with (Dante). He was not only gracious enough to see our bags were wheeled to our room (we were staying on the other side of the beach road — near the pool area) but offered us a welcome drink just in time for sunset! During the entirety of the stay, we were ALWAYS greeted with friendly, smiley, and considerate staff. Everyone from housekeeping to the restaurant. Whilst the property is split into areas, it still retains a lot of personal touches, and most staff were always quick to greet us by our names. We truly felt like we were family, not just guests! I had requested treats in light of my wife's birthday and each and every request was handled spot on, from the feedback of management to staff rolling out the surprises. Again yet another memorable experience. Equally front of house (Dante and Gabriel) were kind enough to help with bookings of excursions as well as restaurant reservations. The property is absolutely breathtaking.

Nachos with canned bean and meatless cheese, pork tacos with fat and cold guacamole without lemon and also too expensive; If at least it was rich it would be worth paying the prices. They should clean the Sargazo beach.

This is the best/most fun hotel I have ever stayed at! Each "room" is basically it's own house. The rooms are spread out all over the resort. I stayed in coconut Grove and it was beautiful, we had a view right our over the water and plenty of room to explore!

Decent food, good portion sizes, and a fun atmosphere. We enjoyed a lunch at Zamas restaurant. The food was fine, the wait staff was friendly, the views were stunning (as they all are in Tulum). The tables were spread out nicely and we felt our kids had a little more freedom here than at other restraunts. We really enjoyed this place with our family for a calm relaxing afternoon sipping cerveza and eating good food.

We went there for dinner it was nice with the beach view being seated on the sand. The food was good but a bit pricey for what we got. Still it was fun and nice.

Delicious, fresh breakfast and coffee while watching the sunrise. Very nice and hospitable wait staff. Felt very welcome and taken care of. Can't beat the location and fairly reasonable prices. Laid for a few on their beach chairs after the meal. Definitely recommend for an early breakfast on the beach! Vegetarian and gluten free options, smoothies, yogurt and granola, fresh fish, breakfast tacos and essentials like huevos rancheros.

We just came back from staying 2 nights at Zamas on the tail end of our Mexico trip and I cannot say enough good things about this Tulum gem. First of all, we always had a fresh set of towels and turn down service at the same time, it was perfect. Mosquito net pulled up and down daily, you don't have to lift a finger. The food at Que Fresco (their restaurant) is AMAZING! The drink specials 2 for 1 margaritas start at 3pm and we sat on the beach while we sipped on these handmade cocktails daily. We even went back for lunch two days after we checked out (restaurant open to public with live music daily). The papardelle pasta dish with seafood was out of this world! The lunch tacos and chips/salsa were excellent. The staff was SO nice and they let me borrow a hairdryer for my stay which I did not have and we learned as Americans that not may places in Tulum have hairdryers as an option at all! I cannot say enough about the beach, we loved it, very relaxing, great beachfront chica we stayed in, 5 stars! We will be coming back without a doubt and we will recommend this place to all of our friends!

One of the best spots in Tulum. Great food, people, views, patio, live music, and "Lalo" the manager is as good a human as it gets. We couldn't stay there and still went everyday at some point.

Very good food with Mexican specialties and beautiful beach right next door! I could even swim with a skate a few meters from the edge of the beach!

Service, with the (small) enchiladas at 250 pesos! We were 3, ordered 3 dishes of enchiladas as well as a bottle of purified water at 40 pesos, the addition was heavy and we were still hungry. The rates are unjustifiable, the Americans, the majority may not be displaced but for Mexico, and a traditional dish, it's horribly expensive.

Very very special. We had our wedding reception here in 2003, keep coming back joyously ever since. Wonderful food, amazing music, great lodging. The fact that you see the same staff and guests over and over again here says it all. Very few places like it anywhere. And Susan, Dan and Chelsea are wonderful.

It is a restaurant in the paradise of Tulum at the edge of the beach.

Hamburger was served raw (not medium rare) and the pizza had a soggy crust and was flavorless. The beet salad was rather tasty though. Staff was super responsive and handled our bill accordingly.

Good restaurant from where we can watch the sunset. A bit expensive but it's like almost everywhere in Tulum.

Imagine waking up in a plush bed and walking out your door into a grove where a dozen palm trees sway lazily, with colorful hammocks strung between them. The crystal blue ocean crashes into the rocks below with a pounding that stirs your heart awake. Sip on a mango smoothie and devour savory breakfast tacos while the sun starts a long day of beating down on the white-sand beach in front of you. Hop on a bike and explore ancient Mayan ruins, pristine beaches, and charming restaurants half hidden in the jungle. Return to Zamas tanned, hungry, and thirsty and have all your needs quenched at their restaurant, ¡Que Fresco¡. Sip a refreshingly tart margarita and munch on homemade tortilla chips and salsas of varying spiciness. Watch pelicans dive for their dinner in the cove and fishermen try their luck wading out with nets. Enjoy well-crafted entrees as the bottles of ice cold Coronas keep on coming. Get your toes tapping in the soft sand to the tunes from local musicians. Have a nightcap of mezcal before retiring to a hammock outside your casita. Watch the stars emerge against an ink-black sky as the strums of a guitar lull you to sleep. Contemplate how fortunate you are to be here. Repeat. Note: We stayed at Zamas for four nights in the Coconut Grove. The restaurant was so good and the staff so friendly that we ate two of our four dinners there. Shout-out to Jonathan for his excellent customer service skills and for helping me discover a new favorite drink — mezcal de café.

Very attentive and understanding staff, they gave us towels for the beach and watched our luggage when we showed up 6 hours early. Room was exactly as advertised, very comfortable in a beautiful coconut grove. Cocktails and juices from the restaurant were as good as most other places in Tulum.

Great views, excellent food and service. The whole fish was Red Snapper and it was delicious.

Very nice views, good strong drinks, very tasty food. This is one of our favorite spots along the Tulum Beach area.

We went to Zamas for the view of the bay/coastline around sunset. The margaritas were solid, and as a bonus we witnessed pelicans diving for fish right in front of us! Great, straight-forward, laid back place with ample hotel-provided parking. Would recommend for drinks and a view!

I'm absolutely in love with Zamas. My husband and I decided to visit Tulum to relax and experience the culture and food around this area. A friend recommended we stay at Zamas, and I'm so glad we did! The property is beautifully laid out with stunning views of both nature and the ocean. There is so much to do in Tulum, but we honestly opted to spend much of our time right here. The chic pool, loungers on the beach and hammocks all over the property make for such relaxing afternoons. We also enjoyed the restaurant on property — excellent food and drinks! Everything else in Tulum is only a $4 — $6 (USD) taxi ride away! I also cannot say enough about the staff. They are so welcoming and kind. Thank you, Zamas, for an incredible stay!

I like to think of my stay at Zamas as 20 steps from Paradise! We were about 20 steps to the beach from our beautiful ocean cabana, 20 steps to the silken, warm ocean, and 20 steps to the delicious food at Zamas restaurant. As a place to stay, Zamas is a warm and romantic place. The staff comes and turns down your bed in the evening, leaving you a candle and bottle of fresh mint water. Lovely touch! It's relatively quiet, although the road is ever-present and the lights from the passing cars are hard to avoid at night. The decor is simple and colorful, the staff all so friendly. They go out of their way to make your stay, or your meal, enjoyable. It's a great place to hear live music at night and watch the sunrise in the morning. As a place to eat the food is delicious, simple, and reasonably priced. The morning coffee is served with warm milk, and a delicious little cookie. Such a sweet touch! The huevos rancheros is a large and satisfying breakfast, and the spaghetti carbonara or simple grilled fish make a delightful dinner. Chelsea is a wonderful manager. She was very helpful in planning our stay, and arranging transportation to and from the airport. If your travels take you to the Tulum area stop in at Zamas for a day, a week, or just a meal. You'll be glad you did!

We had a wonderful vacation and stay at Zamas. Food was great and the cabana we stayed in was absolutely fantastic. I loved hearing the ocean. Everyone was nice and helpful. Everything was clean. Hated to leave.

We've been coming here for 15 years. It's not as inexpensive as it was in 2001, but what is? Great beach, great restaurant, nice bar, and live music almost every night. What's not to like?

A hotel that is passed by spa boutique. Really it makes others sad. Furniture old dirty and in bad state that do pass as vintage. The exorbitant prices. Attention without desire or interest by most of the staff. He would not again definitely.

It is famous for its gastronomic festivals, their huevos rancheros, and concerts by the sea.
