It’s a one stop family vacation resort. Great variety of food for meat lovers, vegetarians and that place have gluten free stations with GF bread and muffins. Lots of activities for children and adults. Great spot for snorkelling. Beautiful long walks under palm trees. Much recommended.

Horrible! Took hours to check in. Buffet food was not replenished. You need masks to eat but they won't give you a mask you have to find some in the gift shops for $10. All the restaurants were full and even if you get a reservation the men's dress code is ridiculous and they don't tell you about it until you show up. Women can wear anything except a bathing suit so totally ridiculous. Bartenders at the pool are rude and ignore you. We had to go find drinks elsewhere and then go back to the pool. Very rocky beaches full if seaweed… I've been to numerous resorts here and this is the worst by far.

Great place, great rooms, but lack culture of service to ALL areas from reception to waiters. Something I didn't like is q charge the room service per dish. That's very bad.

Great family friendly resort!

It was perfect, good meals, good music, beautiful room! Until I saw the horrible conditions in which the poor dolphins are. Please do something! I can't believe this keeps happening in 2022. The dolphins should have a lot more space! How sad considering they are only meters from the ocean. Makes me want to free them.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. Great customer service, thorough cleaning. Very nice all around. The nightly shows are entertaining and fun. We are at several of the on-site restaurants and the food was delicious.

Stayed at the Barcelo Maya Palace. Absolutely amazing! Workers were friendly and polite, food was great, rooms were clean and spacious… everything was perfect! Will stay at Barcelo Maya Riviera next time. Highly recommended!

We loved this resort. We’ll be back! Only suggestion is I would be willing to pay for breakfast and lunch menu service. The buffet twice daily gets old. Other than that the resort was clean and the staff is excellent.

Awesome set up-dive shop right on site! Super friendly staff and amazing food at the French and Seafood restaurants! Buffets are decent but nothing to write home about. Rooms are very clean and nice sized. Great snorkeling off the beach and clean grounds.

In the days that lasted there my experience was unforgettable without any doubt I recommend that resort I was delighted and the only thing that affected me was the cold but otherwise great, their personal services are very good without any doubt I would return to the resort but when it's hotter and thank you so much for all the service you gave us.

Fabulous resort (second time) this time at the Palace. Everything is beautiful and in particular the staff is wonderful. Morony of the water aerobics and aqua strong was very helpful getting our family involved and have great and fun instruction. They made our trip a blast! Thank you so much to Arely y Marlon.

Food very good, staff very friendly, beautiful beach front, good entertainment. What I didn't like is that it took 45 minutes to check in — even though there were 7 of us, it seemed way too complicated. Also, you need towel cards in order to get towels, which we were not given during check in so we had to go back to get them. I don't think getting towels needs to be that complicated, they are just towels. People are allowed to smoke in and around the pool area, which I did not like at all. Even if you're going to allow smoking, it shouldn't be allowed near the pool. Last thing — one of our room doors was found to be wide open after returning from dinner. We certainly did not leave it that way, and although nothing appeared to be missing, we reported it to the front desk, who never got back with us about what/who could have opened the door. This was a nice resort except for a couple things that could use some tweaking.

My first time at barcelo and it is great! I came with my family and it is amazing. 1. Extremely clean 2. Staff is very nice all over 3. Room is big 4. The kids place And lot more… To bad there is not much shade over the pools of the kids. But the place is exactly what we hope for. Highly recommended!

I came here on vacation in May and loved it. I’ve never been to a resort but my friends have and they kept saying that it’s the best resort they’ve ever been to. The food was good, the drinks were good and everyone who worked there was nice and friendly. The resort is huge and there’s so much to do we didn’t get to do all of it. I also liked that the pools were separated for children and adults. I will definitely be bringing my kids here.

I'm giving a 5 star review simply for the service. The waiters and waitresses we had were absolutely amazing. Salvatore for our lunch and dinner buffet was awesome. Super funny and on point. Silvia Balam for our breakfast beach buffet was incredible! She was always prompt and extremely friendly. She worked hard and did it with a smile on her face. I would come back just to see the both of them any day! The hotel rooms were comfortable. The only complaint I would have is the noise level. Nothing to do with the staff, it's just hard to control the echoing from other guests when its marble floors and high ceilings. So sleeping was a little difficult after a long day in the sun. However. The staff always made up for it with excellent service!

Good morning. Leaving now after being here for 7 days already. My family and I had a beautiful time. Everyone here is tremendously nice and attentive. We are leaving with the hope of coming back some day soon. We stayed at rooms 5472. — 5474. Our special thanks to a really really nice guy at Buffet Caribe. From the breakfast scheduled. He was the first person we had the pleasure to sit at his table on our first day and ever since then he has been nothing more than special with our family. We are glad he works for you guys. I have been to numerous resorts in Cancun. This is by far the best. Staff. 5 stars Food. 4 stars. Beach. 3 Stars. Given for the reason of seaweed. Not really there fault. But they need a bigger tractor. Cleanliness. 5 I would go back or try another location under this name Barcelo.

Almost perfect. People don't seem happy to work there event when you tip big.

Been here twice. Great experience both times. Resort is huge it even has shuttle buses that take you to different parts of the resort. The beach is clean and the resort itself is really clean and work day and night to keep it like that. Food is good and the service is excellent. The staff is always willing to help and are very friendly.

This is a review of the La Fuente restaurant at the Barcelo Mayan Grand Resort. Google Maps did not show this restaurant thought it had most of the others. The mussels were nice with a creamy tomato sauce but only six mussels. My wife had one or two mussels which did not open which is normal but when you only get six it is not great. My daughter-in-law has the appetizer bar which I would recommend as the better choice to have to start the meal. For the main course I had the the almond chicken with saffron. Small portions and it was ok which is the consensus of the people who had it. The lobster risotto was the best best choice of the meals the six of us had. The second best was the sirloin steak with ham and blue cheese. I am not a blue cheese fan but I found the cheese was not overpowering in taste. The desserts. I had the Crema Catalana (Catalan cream) which is Spanish for the dessert called crème brulée. It may be me but the Spanish version tastes much better than the French version. Others at the table had the rice pudding and found that dessert superb as well. As for the service, it was very attentive with no complaints whatsoever.

Barcelona Maya caribe is a very great resort because of the beach and the delicious food. Also, the entertainment and fun here is unlimited and I live it! And there is a kids club called Barcy club where kids all ages can hang out and have fun and never get bored!

Hotel is very nice, has a lot of things to do very kid friendly. Food wasn't so good, I'll give the food 1 star, they need more variety of food choices like a little more American food.

Pools are nice and clean, food is good, and the resort puts on some nice shows every night. The only issue I had was with the booking staff, we were overcharged after adding a second room and they weren't willing to help at all. Besides that I had a good time at this resort and enjoyed my stay. I actually stayed at the Barcelo Maya Caribe, which had a very nice and clean beach in front of it.

Great resort. Large buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner, also snack bars near the pool if you don't want to go all the way to the buffet. Multiple bars and stores, you can find everything here. They even have a doctor and a pharmacy. Spa, swimming with dolphins, watersports, romantic dinners, babysitting, nightclub, great entertainment every night. It's expensive, but you will relax and forget about real life for as long as you stay.

The girls of Barcy club are excellent coralia and Andrea explain and cater super well about everything the Barci club.

Excellent place to spend family holidays, my children adored the Barcy club, they had a great time in the care of the teachers Andrea, Elisa and Mariana super attentive. For my wife and I enjoyed time together at the spa, we went to the disco Jaguar to dance and to a romantic dinner.

Excellent stay very recommended for the family, my children Fascinafos in the Barcy club with the teachers Elisa, Andrea very attentive and cheerful. It is a ENORMD hotel with many areas to enjoy.

It is very nice but it is so big that the enjoyment is not the same. In Sportbar the manager (I do not know his name but is bald) is very despotism does not know how to address people we had an incident with him. Wonderful holidays.

Very good hotel, ideal for all kinds of family confirmation, either with young children, teenagers or adults. All kinds of entertainment, excellent pools, very good restaurants and excellent buffet. Highly recommended. The staff were very helpful. We went back without hesitation, we left with little desire to leave.

The good and the bad: We had to book our restaurants when we arrived. We had no problem getting good times. But, larger groups had problems. The food and buffets were ok to good. Not outstanding. The one thing that drove me crazy… Large chuck of meat presented, but no one slicing the meat! So, I could not have any turkey or ham… Also, Barcelo does not allow food to be taken out from grills/patios etc. So, good and bad? The good is that you dont get paper napkins and food all over the pool deck… And it kept the place cleaner. Alcohol — If you are a premium member the higher end alcohol is definitely not top shelf. No, Belvedere or Grey Goose. Frozen slushi drinks are from a slushie machine. No Ginger Ale. Shows — Barcelo had theaters that were never hard to find a seat. Shows were good. Pool — Barcelo had LOTS of pools where you never felt packed or hard to find a place by the pool. The pool staff at Barcelo (aerobics) were professional. Spa / gym — I used the gym every day! Barcelo was huge, and top notch equipment. And being premium member I got the use of the hydrotherapy spa. OMG is was the BEST. Used that every morning after workout. You will loose track of time… Beach — Barcelo is nicer, less rocky and you can go snorkeling and actually see fish and turtles.

The hotel is amazing to highlight the water park where Samantha and Daniela are magnificent with the client, inside it the children are entertained muchisiimo especially with the surfing classes of Ernesto.

The best of the hotel without a doubt the aquatic park of the Barceló Maya Caribe, I recommend Muchiiisimo to surf with Ernesto, an unforgettable experience. The treatment of Samantha and Daniela was very nice, 100% recommended.

I had a great experience here. I was very well attended by the waiter Nicholas of the beach firm "Captain Morgan" and in the restaurant "La Fuente" also did the same a waiter of last name Pech, that I do not remember the name.

Lovely resort, energetic pool staff, accommodating restaurant staff, and excellent food. Well maintained gardens. Amazing gym for morning workouts. I have returned to this resort, unlike the others I have enjoyed over the past 20 years in the Playa Del Carmen region. Mexico vacations have a sense of hospitality above others generally, but the Barcello is a star in the region. We used their travel associate for our day trip to Coba archilogical site this year and we're very satisfied.

If I could give 0 I would, I dont know how horribpe custumer service u can have. my 5 years old sons finger burned bcause of there horribel electric in there room burned our tablet in 45 min while we were at breakfast by the time we came to get it, it was fried and burned my sons fingers. they came to check the pluged with a tech, manager and other people made us wait 30 min then told us to talk with manager at front whos name is ENRIGUE REYES at caribe told us it was our fault or something which I did not undrestand what he ment by that like I wouldnt know how to use or charge tablet. never ever again. i was a loyal customer which I always go barceleos multiple locations bcause of ther price but I learned my lesson. you guys are funny that telling us it was bcause of the charger, mini bar never worked properly in that room, very poor customer service place like that. even when we charge our phones were getting very hot. people make sure do not charge anything in the rooms and I will make sure that will post any web side that online to tell about our story of barcelo mexico, my son is still in pain and manager trying to give me his bussines card for what.

The premium rooms of the Barceló Maya Caribe have a excellent view of the pools and part of the beach as well as a terrace with Jacuzzi to spend a relaxing moment with good eyesight, comfortable and spacious beds to feel at home.

Summary: Overall, the hotel is well (location, employees, cleanliness, services, swimming pool, beaches, food, drink, room).
Location: The hotel is located just over an hour from the airport, which is ok as many other hotels were located far further.
Services/Employees: the service is impeccable. Mexican employees are very polite/friendly, provided you are too! A simple hello/thank you/goodbye already makes the difference at the service level. If you find that Mexicans are not pleasant, it is probably because you have not been with them.
Cleanliness: The site is very well maintained. During our stay, the painting of the walls was redone, the plants were transplanted, no detritus jonchait the soil. Everything was very clean outside.
Room: The room was just as clean (floor, bedding, furniture). By cons The faucet of the bathroom was very user (as gnawed by salt and moisture) and deserved a change. The cleaning was done every day. The bathroom has all the necessary (shower gel, shampoo, after shampoo, comb, hair cap, cotton swab, cotton disc…).  
Temperature level, you have the choice: the room is air-conditioned and ventilated.  
In the room we had a king size bed, two bedside tables, two armchairs, a sofa, a buffet, a coffee maker + café and a TV with many channels in Spanish, a few channels in English and a single channel in French (TV world).

We stayed at Barcelo Maya Palace, and we were able to enjoy all the other Barcelo Maya resorts while we were there. Had a great time at every one of them!

Great time at this place! Went with children with minor special needs and they had many wonderful patient staff to make us comfortable. Hernesto y Josue gave me surf lessons at the Surf Ride Park while the little ones wore themselves out on the slides. Great value for a great time! Marcos helped us when we swam with dolphins and, again, was incredibly patient with timid and cautious children. Didn’t push the little ones but was able to build their confidence with Alex (the one with a tail) and eventually even got them to ride along!

Excellent Hotel with facilities, variety of services and activities, respectful and efficient customer service outstanding. Beautiful beach where you can cram mostly without any problem of strong swell and suitable for all kinds of people. In Premium level, all excellent. You can improve the buffet dining rooms with a little more variety of dishes.

Great resort! Service from everyone was awesome. Really friendly staff and willing to help. The flow rider staff was really good especially Josue Eskamilla. He helped myself and my friends learn to surf the flow rider and we had a great time! Would recommend!

We love Barcelo! It's our second time visiting Riviera Maya this year, the complex consists of five resorts so there is always something to do. We really enjoy the Surf Rider, we go multiple times in the week, the instructors Josue and Ernesto are fantastic! Would highly recommend.

I loved my experience at Barcelò! The beach is beautiful and the food excellent. The activities are sometimes a little expensive but the one on the beach are free. Jonathan at the animation is just perfect!

I don't know what to say about this place, we were skeptical before we coming to this place. Everything change when we land and we checked in. This place is absolutely great, from food and drink, Beach and pool, all the way to the stuff and everything what you get from the resort. After five times in Mexico this is definitely the best place we been so far! Would recommend this place for the families with the kids or without it!

We stayed at the Barcelo Palace but ventured over to the Maya mall where we heard there were some activities happening. We had so much fun participating in activities with FRANCISCO :) He made our trip even better than it already was! We participated in the Cocktail Lessons and he made it interesting, fun, and educational! Not to mention the awesome magician who came by and did tricks for us. Amazing stay with amazing staff — thank you :)

Francisco was a fantastic cocktail instructor! The magician led in with some great tricks and then we made a perfect Mojito! We told him about a drink we were looking to make in general, and he went back to the bar to get the ingredients to show us how to make that as well! Would definitely recommend!

Amazing hotel — had the best food everyday, clear blue beach, and very spacious rooms with convenient locations. The staff was absolutely incredible. From waiters in the restaurant buffet to the entertainment staff at the pool, they made mine and my sisters vacation a one to remember. Sergio and Francesco played the best tracks and were always dancing their zumba routines with a never ending energy. Will come back again!

This resort is amazing the staff are so friendly and the activities are great! Beach Volleyball is a blast and the staff took good care of me after I had too much fun at the club one night! Staff member Jonathan personally greeted me and talked to me throughout my stay and always helped me find things to do. Would definitely come back!

Excelenre hotel! Is my favorite in all the riviera maya! Simply spectacular!

All very positive, the only downfall is the reception, are evasive and do not take into account the needs of customers if you need something they say … 5 minutes 5 minutes pass days and obviously never get. A tip for everyone, avoid the "Spring Breakers" American Kids who drink and do a monstrous mess, throw drinks at the pool etc.
Italian animation staff is awesome, the staff of the Buffet is fantastic.
