Location is perfect and really great for snorkelling. I have been to other hotels since COVID and all have been under staffed and therefore service suffers. Here they have plenty of staff and who are all very attentive. If you are a foodie this is not the place for you. That being said the food is adequate and plentiful and again service in all restaurants is impeccable. I would certainly return here 🏖

I could live here. It's like home, except, much much better. The entire staff is amazing! I really mean: everyone; maids, butler, the managers, concierge, room service, waiters, bartenders, hostess… everyone just makes you feel like home and they always approach you and receive you with a warm smile. I am truly in love with this place and its staff (family). I'll say it again: I could live here. Period. A million stars to this paradise.

Helpful, friendly staff! Jesus Cancino an excellent bellboy! Desk staff all provided great service. Too many to mention but a few were Faisha, Ricardo, and Alicia. The Buffet staff hard working and efficient. The bartenders and servers quickly made our drinks and or brought them to the beach or pool! Sorry not able to recall all the names.

Great food : no matter where you go, the food is amazing! Please: don't only eat pizza/hamburgers/fries! Be brave and try the local cuisine. It's amazing!

This is our third visit and it has never disappointing us! We enjoy the relaxing atmosphere. The drinks are good and plenty! Love all the activities available during the day. Love the cuisine and fun but not over the top nighttime activities as well. Small, quaint, feels like home and vacation all wrapped up in one :-)

Great location, and great service. Food is excellent and they do a great job catering to special diets. They have a full calendar activities such as yoga, meditation and dance lessons. A great place for a peaceful vacation.

Guys, this is a perfect time to visit Akumal and stay at ABRWR! The best service and friendliest staff of any of our travels! We were initially apprehensive because of covid but these guys are superb with their infection control standards. We live in Vegas and ABRWR is doing a much better job with COVID! The resort is at record low capacity and we have been completely spoiled these last couple visits. The Mexican airport and Delta airlines were also excellent in social distancing and infection measures. Thermal temperature checks throughout the Cancun airport! We didn’t come in close contact of anybody while at the resort. Rooms are thoroughly clean multiple times throughout the day as well as a stocked minbar. The service aims to please all you have to do is ask! With limited travel options during this time we will be sure to visit again soon! You’ll never have a resort all to yourself like you can during this time. Take advantage of one of the opportunities covid is providing! Oh snorkeling and diving gore! We’ve seen turtles and lobsters and manta rays and all sort of tropical fish!

I have never done this before but I am going to review the hotel after one day. This resort is amazing! The staff is so nice. I have nothing bad to say about anything other than our air conditioner could work a little better. But other than that the highest ratings on everything. The food is also very good. And everywhere you go is beachfront. We have been to many Riviera Maya Resorts. This by far has been one of my favorite. I am going to recommend to all of my family and friends.

The Akumal Bay Beach Resort is one of the best Hotels in that I have ever been. Big Plus Points Are: — Nice and big Roms — top Location — 24 Hour Room Service (which is very good) — you have 4 a la carte Restaurants, which you can use Every day without reservation (Thats wonderful) — the environment is beatufiul and the sea is perfect for snorkling and Diving — the Service is very good, they also bring your Drinks to the pool or beach. — there is Animation for kids and a also for adults. But there is Not to much Animation, so it wont get on your nerves. — the food was excellent (also at the buffet) — they have a very good staff for planing trips It is a hotel there you definitely should go if you want to relax, have good service and fun. Definitely worth it Guys.

Great, Raul at the reception speaks perfect Italian and will solve all your problems.
Even if the oprator tours do not mention it there is a free mini club from 9am to 5pm.
International resort good cuisine NOT ITALIAN paradise x the "snorkelers" coral reef just a few meters from the beach impossible not to see sea turtles, stingrays, tropical fish etc.
At night, if you're not sleepy, you'll encounter turtles that are born and throw themselves into the sea or adult green turtles laying their eggs.

Beautiful practically nothing is missing thanks to all the very welcoming and helpful staff.

Amazing vacation and wedding venue. The staff are super friendly and accommodating. Great food, drinks and entertainment. Beautiful and well maintained beach with plenty of sealife to watch while snorkeling. My wife and I wish we could have stayed much longer.

I loved this place. It was so amazing and I really recommend it. This will be a detailed review if you need one. The rooms were big and nice. Our room consisted of two queen beds, little couch, T. V, bathroom, closet, and balcony. The beds had a night stand and a T. V in front. The couch was comfy and had a mini table in front of it. On the wall facing the couch were 3 wooden turtles. The bathroom was really nice as well, it came with many towels and soaps (I recommend that you bring conditioner or shampoo because they did not have one of those). The balcony had a hot tub and the room was over all very nice, plain, and enjoyable. The food was very delicious and there was a whole variety of choices from fried calamari to mouth watering brownies and ice cream.

I was in Akumal Bay and I found it excellent facilities and his treatment towards the guests, the nights listening to music in the bar and excellent service in their restaurants, I invite you to stay in this wonderful place and enjoy its services on your next vacation. You will not regret it.

Akumal Bay Beach and Wellness Resort is absolute paradise. From the moment you step foot on the property, you're well taken care of and catered to with a smile. There are beautiful views everywhere you go and the ocean is very close to everything. The rooms also have great views due to the layout of the buildings being spread out along the coast instead of tucked in behind. You won't have to pay more for an oceanview room as they all have it! The entire resort is not that big when compared to large chain resorts, giving it a much more personal feel. The entire staff here always greet you with a smile and will easily remember you, especially if tips are involved. Some very notable and friendly bartenders that deserve recognition include Cristian and Carlos at the Lobby Bar, Marcelino at the beach bar in between buildings 3 & 4, and Wilber at the Lobby Bar in the morning and afternoon. Mariana at the front desk was very helpful and courteous and Filberto would walk around asking how everything is with everyone. Really top notch service and you feel as if the employees all really want you to just relax and enjoy yourself. The rooms at ABBWR were very minimal but bright and clean and had everything you'd need. It comes with a coffee maker, mini fridge, tv, phone, but no alarm clock or phone docking station. There's also a hot tub with jets on the balcony but it doesn't sit two comfortably unless you want to get real close to one another.

A small resort. Peaceful, lots of activities for all ages. Service is superb. Everyone smiles and certainly goes above expectations I could have expected.

Really good hotel! The beach is a dream, the food is super and versatile. The rooms are very large and all equipped with sea view and whirlpool on the balcony. The hotel is superbly located to make excursions on your own. For example, Tulum, Coba or Kantun chi. And if you are looking for peace, this is also great.

Nice hotel, good food… okay the order of drinks especially coffee at breakfast is slow. The reef right in front of the hotel (Turtles paradise) ; is great! Also good start for excursions, e. G. Tulum or Coba etc.

We have been here in Akumal for a week and can only report positive about this hotel and the staff. The trips we were recommended by Carsten and his colleague were great. The hotel complex has everything our heart desires. The physical well-being is provided in every day and night. Since we also had a small wedding anniversary to celebrate, a table would be prepared for us in the Mexican Restaurant and it became a nice evening for both of us. We still have a week to relax. This time will remain an unforgettable experience for us.

After our tour of Mexico we recovered for a week at the Akumal Bay Beach Hotel.
Our expectations of this hotel were positively surpassed.
The complex is located on the sea front with its own hotel beach. We had a penthouse suite in building No. 1 and a great view of the sea.
The hotel complex is well maintained and including the rooms very clean and quiet.
All the staff is very friendly and meets immediately the wishes of the guests.
Our special thanks to the 3 hostesses Adriana, Araceli and Cecilia for their excellent care of the guests at the buffet restaurant. The meals in all restaurants and bars is of high quality.
The hotel is well suited for trips to the surrounding area, which, once as a German-speaking guest, is best enjoyed by Karsten and Corinna. The two are located at the reception and know each other very well.
We can recommend this beautiful and well maintained hotel to anyone.

Wonderful place… we love that it's not huge. Great staff, great housekeeping… loved the buffet. Hard to wait at the restaurants though as they don't take reservations and have "wait lists" that you can't count on times they tell you which even during the week can be two hour waits… so we used the large buffet most of the time which was very good. One thing I think the resort should mention more, is that the meditation and yoga studio is AMAZING! Rene our meditation coach was fantastic and it really added something great to our vacation to go this place and have this offered. We will go back because of the wellness part of this… if ONLY they could PLEASE seperate the smokers! Very difficult to be at a wellness resort and have the smokers blowing smoke all over when you are trying to sit and eat outside or listen to music. : (Otherwise it's fantastic.

A dream hotel The coral reef is a few palms from the edge the staff is in the small care and the very comfortable rooms the junior suites located in the North overlooks the garden (Spa and hammocks) and the beach with a swimming pool separated from the swimming pool Princip Ale…
If you want to be quiet this is the best!

Stay of 9 au16 Feb 2018, Hotel very clean well located we were in the building 1 restaurants without reservations, sushi bar on the beach EXTRA really good, and plentiful. Honorable Mention to the staff always smiling, ready everything to make our stay perfect. Thanks to Éduardo at the reception, the Grand Luis, Beach manager, and the two beautiful Carmina and Anna and their contagious good mood… Claire and Guy.

Very nice hotel right on the beach which is regularly cleaned. To relax super recommend as no annoying animation. The service in the restaurants and on the beach is also very good.

Beautiful Hotel. I am going to this hotel three times and everytime I love it. The restaurants are really very welcoming and the food is still very good. The only negative point of the place is the lack of the beach on the edge of the sea.

The place is beautiful, new and equipped with every service and comfort. The sea is something unique, nuotanto you see breeds and especially turtles. It is a place famous for the Turtles, in a few places are so numerous and close. Compared to other resorts is much smaller, the rooms are still numerous but the other resorts in the area are real countries. I found myself very well.

We did our wedding here February 2018. This was probably the best resort I've been to The staff were amazing, the food was great and the place had a relaxing atmosphere. I will definitely be going back and recommend it to anyone looking for an all inclusive vacation.

Really great holiday, always happy again. The beach is a dream that food is good. Unfortunately, I missed the shrimp. The cocktails are also really tasty. Make sure to take a trip on your own with the Kolektivo to Tullum and Playa del Carmen.
We had the problem that our whirlpool did not work quite as it should, then got a full body massage at the expense of the hotel, super performance!
In the evening there was no programme only live music, so we had hoped for a bit more. There are many Americans in the hotel who come to drink and party in this hotel. Unfortunately we had the bad luck that we had the last 3 nights in the next room, so one was no longer possible by sleeping.
The room service is great, really tasty. If you leave a bit of a tip, you will also get a towel animal and fresh towels every day;)
Right the first time snorkeling, we can see a turtle, as well as fish. The reef is unfortunately not so nice, as it is already very affected, as unfortunately there are visitors who feel that they have to cancel coral.
We can recommend the hotel, but good conscience!

Beautiful beach for snorkeling and observing sea turtles in their habitat… it is veeeeery important to know the regulations concerning the care of the turtles and to respect it during the whole stay. Let's be aware.

It is a great place to rest beautiful as none quiet and fun at night in a healthy and familiar way with live music every night from 6 pm and different bands every day during the day there is also music around the pools C On the Riviera Maya just to the front just 30 meters is a beauty in Quintana Roo Mexico.

I'm 11 years old and I went with my family during Christmas break this year. The resort was great and the ocean view was beautiful. We had an amazing time and all the staff were very helpful and kind. The rooms and restaurants were very nice, but you could not make restaurant reservations. Overall the resort was amazing.

Great experience in this hotel! The rooms are very nice and very well maintained. The staff are always smiling and friendly. The food is very good, especially in French and Mexican restaurants. It is a peaceful hotel, it is easy to find a chair on the beach. It's a great place to snorkel. There are a lot of turtles, rays and a lot of fish to see. I would recommend this hotel for those who spineless a quiet and relaxing place.

Nice place… except I haven't had hot water since I got here. I will post about this everyday till I have hot water. Management is welcome to contact me at anytime. Tomorrow I am lodging an official with Apple. I didn't pay for lukewarm water at best.

Beautiful resort, not the most luxurious but its relation quality price is unbeatable. Its proximity to the shore and the turtle nests will make us always remember this trip. The very friendly animation team and the delicious snack fries.

There's no place to compare it to. While it is in small hotel this feature is beneficial to arrive in a few steps to where you want, the room, the beautiful beach, any of its restaurants. All this crowned with the attention of all the staff, who would like to find any place I go.

Was just there last week for a "Girls Trip" planned by my daughter-in-law. Everything was wonderful. All rooms face the beautiful ocean. Ours also faced our buildings pool (Bldg #1), its bar and the watersports area. No towel cards needed, no dinner reservations needed, room keys easy to use, shower in room worked well and the tub on the patio was fun. Snorkeling right off the beach was excellent. We saw many tropical fish and turtles every day. The ease and short distance to them was superb! Although the beach and pool areas were popular with everyone we had no trouble getting chairs. Food was great and its presentation was top notch! Tried lots of new foods every day. Would return again to this wonderful resort!

Beach exceptional, a bit sad by so many people who approach you before you can enter to convince you to rent vests, guide, etc. Also now they put so many restrictions that limit you to enjoy the natural beauty that is. The good… The reef is very well taken care of, much to see the snorkel, much marine life at very shallow. It's still a paradise.

Nice hotel, warm, far from the too luxurious monsters that we often see in the south. The simplicity and smallness of the places makes it a fantastic place to relax, rejuvenate and do yoga. A real downtime, a real little paradise.

I haven't left yet and I never want to. America is cancelled. I live here now. The staff has been super nice and accommodating at every turn. I really couldn't ask for more! Great restaurants and amenities. I'm enjoying myself more than I can say, truly. It's a beautiful property and I'd love to come back.

I absolutely recommend the yoga sessions. They are given by very qualified and experienced teachers who take care of one's needs, no matter one's age or health. Those teachers are very careful and amazing. Also, try the meditations. Some are accompanied with live music (different instruments) that soothes the souls and minds.

It is a wonderful and quiet place, an oasis of peace with the most beautiful beach and wonderful fish for snorkeling.

Dreamlike holiday that we didn't lack anything about. Very nice and well maintained facility, super delicious food, very friendly staff and not forgetting the dream beach with adjacent coral reef. It can hardly do better and you will encounter turtles while snorkelling all day long.
The hotel has been so excited that we will be back next year.

Had a brilliant time here in 2016 for 2 weeks. We had one issue with our room but was quickly sorted. Loved it here.

True 5-Star Property!

We went for our honeymoon last week. The resort was relaxing and beautiful. The reasoning I couldn't give it 5 stars is because the whole week we were there, people were doing construction outside our wall from 9am-6pm everyday. This was our honeymoon. We wanted relaxation, not hearing constant drilling and beating on our wall. Also, they do have Fidelity onsite. If you don't know what that is, its very similar to timeshare. You will spend half your day with them if you can't be mean to them. We ended up having to be rude to get out the meeting because they refused to take no for an answer. This was our first resort vacation as we usually cruise for vacations so we had no idea that they had this at their resort. The last complaint, was their Pelicano snack bar that's opened 24 hours. The service is terrible and their pizza will leave you in the bathroom the rest of your stay. I know, you don't go to Mexico to order pizza, but it looked good on someone else's plate so we had to try it! LOL. My hubby was on the toilet the last day of our honeymoon and was breaking out in sweats and could barely walk he was so weak. Fortunately we didn't order the pizza until the 2nd to last day of our stay. You have been warned though. Other than that, bring insect repellent because the mosquitoes are definitely fierce and you'll have a blast! You must try the Japanese restaurant for sure. That was our favorite! Oh, and if you're in building 3 or 4, don't waste your time with room service.

We had an absolutely great experience on second week of September. Resort is not big and everything is so well organized. Food was great. Stuff is very polite and professional. In resort they are offering so many activities one of them was Yoga classes (our instructor was Hiram classes at 9 am) and absolutely amazing meditation sessions with live music played by Rene started at 5 pm Recoomended. Will be back to this beatiful place.

We had five nights here and loved it all. The beach is unbelievable and is kept clean by the hard working staff. The food was wonderful. Our favorites were the sushi by Iliana and the gourmet restaurant but we enjoyed every meal. A big surprise was yoga by Hiram. He is encouraging without being demanding and he made converts of us. My wife enjoyed her massage by George. The drink service was dependable and extraordinarily cheerful. It just can't be that much fun getting me another cervesa! We can't wait to go back.

Fully recommended! Super clean, super nice staff, top room service, 4 restaurants without reservation + buffet restaurant everything top, minibar is refilled every day. All in the AI at no extra cost. If you want to have bottles of wine in the restaurant, you have to pay for it. Open house wine rot/white is always included as well as all other alcoholic u non-alcoholic drinks.

Excellent location of the rooms, all sea front, brand new structure, kept and great food both at the buffet and in the 4 thematic restaurants. Not exaggeratedly great. I highly recommend it!

The most beautiful beach I have ever seen. The room is good, room service is good. Big variety of food at the buffet and snack bar. The only thing could be improved is entertainment program. It's a little bit boring during day and definitely nothing to do at night.

My Nan stayed here for her 75th Birthday this year and absolutely loved it! While she was here I emailed the team at the hotel from the Uk and asked them if they could do something special for my Nans birthday and they went above and beyond to ensure she enjoyed her stay! Went here for our honeymoon. We weren't seeking a large resort with tons of entertainment, just a gorgeous beach with good snorkeling and a relaxing pool and this place was it. There was a lovely ocean view yoga class in the morning that felt like straight out of a movie scene. After yoga I would grab my snorkel and go straight out to visit swim with some sea turtles, then chill out on the beach for the rest of the day. All rooms have a Jacuzzi and ocean view, unlike other resorts you don't have to pay a premium for such luxuries.

They have 5 different restaurants and a snack/sushi bar all fresh, tasty and with lots variety. All beds, especially those with shade, are all gone before 7 in the morning despite notices that say you must not pre book beds. It's really bad seeing all the beds vacant but with towels on. They must get up in the middle of the night! Why don't the hotel stop it? Staff are brilliant and restaurants are fab as is room cleanliness.

We would like to say a big THANK YOU to the staff and management at the Akumal Bay Resort. We recently returned from 10 days at the hotel and although there were a couple of glitches, overall our experience was fabulous. So fabulous that this is one of the first resorts I would consider returning to within the year. The staff are excellent & very friendly, service lacked at times but staff like Vianey Martinez Morales made up for this. Vianey had magic in her step & music in her voice, no request was too great and she took great pride in doing her job. She went out of her way to make sure guests at the hotel always had a drink in their hand and a smile on their face. Much thanks to the entertainment group, they are all outstanding individuals and do an amazing job. Akumal Bay Resort, look forward to coming back again soon!

We went from January 24th to 31st 2016. Nice, clean, quiet, awesome beach view from our room, like all rooms. Very good food, at the buffet or all 4 A la carte restaurants. Smiling staff all over the resort. Marcelo was always ready to serve or help us at the buffet. Everything you need or not need to just relax :)

Just simply amazing. Beach view from all rooms. White sand, calm clear waters, great service, delicious food and clean facilities. Swam with turtles, did the yoga class on the beach, loved the many pools and had an amazing girls getaway. I'll be back for sure.

Best place ever. Rooms were clean. All ocean views. Food was amazing. There was something for everyone. Beaches were clean. Staff was excellent. Super friendly. Good snorkeling off the resort. Cant wait to go again.
