Great location if you want to be fast on the beach and at the same time in the pedestrian zone. The staff at the reception are super friendly and very helpful.
The breakfast is good and is served in the hotel courtyard.
Small pool with loungers which is sufficient for cooling.
Unfortunately we had a room in the direction of the pedestrian area thus was daily until 3 am loud music.
The rooms are large and clean.
Overall absolutely recommended.

Nice hotel great desks team, the rooms are big but not new … but by looking at the pics of the hotel you expected much more. It was nice place to sleep not so quite because of the repairs taking place on the street but in was clean. It is located in the center of everything. The roof is a nice place to get a tan but don’t expect the pool to be big.

Room: very good, very comfortable, (detail female: would have to add lighting on the mirrors of las bachas, as that is where as women we contracted to wear makeup). Breakfast: very good, I would be super a little more variety. What I choose!

The breakfast was very good. Right in the centre. Everything is within walking distance. Check in and check out were totally uncomplicated…

This place is amazing. The staff go out of their way to please you. You get breakfast with your reservation a French Rest. Very good. The hotel is super clean and the beds are very comfortable. They also have a rooftop, sun deck and pool n bar. I'm definitely coming back.

The location is good though close to the hustle and bustle of the busiest avenue you enter as to another quieter atmosphere without noise.

I'm having a wonderful time here… right now the staff are professional but my best friends nothing is too much trouble… I had a small issue with the shower they've swopped our room for a stunner! With birthday wishes and balloons on our bed. Viva illusion!

Firstly the attention of the excellent staff and the location of the hotel very good, everything is within walking distance, the spacious, comfortable, clean rooms. The hotel is small in size but large in service, very cosy.

Perfect location between the beach and the activities on 5th ave. Staff is very accommodating!

Fantastic. Feels like Spain in here! Room was good, best Wi-Fi we have had so far. We waited on the phone (call through Wi-Fi) for hours and it never dropped it. It was cozy, seating outside on Third floor, nice garden in first floor. Breakfast included. They have complementary coffee, breakfast, AND water! Only reason for 4 stars was the bed, at least in our room, was pretty hard.

Small but unique… Pool area is not at all like the photos. The pool is very small and about a foot deep. The room is nice but the bed… The bed is very hard. Like a peice of foam on a peice of plywood. If you like very firm beds then you'll love it. Personally did not like it. The staff are very very friendly and helpful too.

Great customer service, clean, great location. Some noise in the middle off the night but that because of the awesome locarion. Wi-Fi network is terrible if matters to you. Price was a little too much for what they offer. Don't get impressed with pictures they have on the website, pool is super small, you can barely see the ocean. Breakfast included but trust me, the amount they serve it's actually funny, you'll be hungry. Suggest get something a couple of blocks west which is still close to the ocean and downtown with better prices, no noise, and probably better breakfast and Wi-Fi.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was very clean and comfortable. Great value for money. The breakfast is not buffet but, as in other places in Mexico, made to order with a bit poor choice. Could be improved for this I did not give the maximum score.

Them quarters not have of contacts of electricity, the buffet is very bad, the internet is slow, the pool not is it quite deep but the staff of reception is very friendly.

Excellent service! The hotel is very clean and has good services (air conditioning, room service, swimming pool). The staff is impeccable, very kind and friendly, always willing to help and give advice. No doubt is a very good hotel to visit playa del carme that its location is perfect! This half block from Fifth Avenue (the main street) and half a block from the beautiful beach.

I was there in July, and it was truly spectacular. From all the staff of the. (Excellent! ) hotel to the location of the same (very close from the. ) Beach). It was all fantastic, make you. Really feel happy during your stay. I'm from Uruguay.

Beautiful hotel! I stayed here from 9 to August 18, 2014 and I found myself very well. The location is great, very close to the sea, collective buses that take you everywhere, and at nightclubs and restaurants for the evening. The rooms are very nice renovated rooms spotless and equipped with all comforts, important to relax after a day of hiking. In August here, temperatures are very high! You will need a place sheltered from the Sun where find relax, also despite the central location the hotel is very quiet as well. On the top floor there is a small pool and a nice terrace where you can socialize with other guests, I never took a bath there because the riviera maya offers so much that you need it. Breakfast is good and consists of Yogurt, juices, Milky coffee, a broscina and a fruit salad; If you want a more substantial dish, choose in the menu and with 80 pesos (5 euros), bring you truly amazing dishes! I have booked at the Agency so I had access to an equipped beach nearby really very lovely with lounge music, a nice restaurant, umbrellas and gorgeous! I also had half board, so dinner or lunch in a typical Mexican restaurant paid right there close, where I ate a great time spending only 60 euro for the whole week! Overall everything made me feel very good, in the hotel and affiliated facilities have treated me always as a real gentleman!

For those looking for a hotel in the Centre of the nightlife of Playa del Carmen this is the place.

Absolutely wonderful. This small hotel is very clean and well kept. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. It is located only half a block from the beach and has great partnerships and discounts with beachfront restaurants and bars. It is also located only half a block from the main strip, Quinta Avenida (5th Ave). The rooftop pool is good for an evening cool down while overlooking the ocean. The rooms are spacious, air conditioned, and offer free Wi-Fi. They offer a well-priced menu should you want something to eat without leaving the hotel, or discounts a local restaurants should you want the opposite. I could never have imagined so much offered by such a little place. And at such an affordable price. What a memorable experience. The next time I'm in Playa del Carmen, I will certainly be booking a room with Ilusion.
