Hostel Mundo Maya Hostel

I have stayed in many cheap hostels, but this one was absolutely disgusting! We had reserved 3 beds in a four bedroom room. When we arrived there were 5 beds in the room (one was a matress on the floor) and no lockers. There was one storage cabinet that was used and had a lock on it so no place for our things. We were put in a 3 person room since we had not gotten the room we paid for. Our new room had a giant ball of hair in the corner, handprints on the walls, broken AC unit, small spots on sheets which was evidence of bed bugs, ants all over, very hot with only a tiny window, and the list goes on. We arrived very late so we slept sitting on chairs and demanded our money back the next day. We regretted not doing more research! I hope I can help you not make the same mistake we did. Also, the "kitchen" is six feet wide with a mini fridge that is completely packed in a tiny hall area. I am not one to write bad reviews, but Mundo Maya was bad enough I felt the need to help other travelers.

The first hostel to arrive in Mexico a warm place.

It is good price, but not very fancy at all.

Always e Lmismo breakfast with little possibility to decide what to eat bed gives the beach and a ospidalida that I did not like much.

Good place to stay but nobody speaks English.

A very nice place, accessible, close to many places and routes to get around, you also meet people from many parts of the world.

Bad unhelpful management. On arival was charged 19% more than expected. I complained and agreed to stay 2 out of 4 nights. Was informed that that was fine by an absolutly lovly receptionist. However 4 hours later AFTER I had already booked alternative acoomodation she returned to tell me her boss was insisting I pay all 4 nights. I first asked if I could swap with a guest walking in at that moment looking for accomodation for the same nights and dispite him and the receptionist agreeing was refused by the boss. I informed them that if I was paying the 4 nights I would leave some of my stuff there occupying my bed and locker instead of lugging it around for 2 days. To which the boss who never once came out of his office sent the still amazingly friendly and patient receptionist to inform me that I was now labeled a PROBLEM GUEST and had to leave immediately with only a 50% refund or he would call the police I as I WAS NOT RESPECTING THE POLICY in fine print in the email I recieved in Spanish well after making my booking which never appear in any total price during booking.

The friendliness is perfect as well as the cleanliness.
It is close to the Parque de las Palapas and the central streets are moving well.

Not enough toilets, otherwise for the price okay.

Aircon is the best. Really nice people.

Very bad hostel. The staff is so confused, rude and not helpful. It was overbooked and they didn't have a 4 beds dorm like we paid. They put us in a 3 beds dorm and said they will add a bed but we needed to ask 3 or 4 times before they made something (at 9 pm). They charge everyone 19% more for some reason. No a/c, only one 2 showers for the whole hostel, free water tank always empty. We checked out 2 nights in advance even if we couldn't have our money back. I would not recommend.

Muy bonito todo, una gran experiencia me llevo de este hotel, el servicio muy bueno y la atención más, comida deliciosa y grandes vistas.

It is an excellent place if you want to spend the night after being a long day knowing the archeological areas of Cancun and its surroundings, the spectacular attention, the excellent service. The friendliness of the staff has no price or comparison all in that hostel are a very beautiful people, very basic room, a bed, a bedside table and a fan. You don't need anything else if your plan is to be on the street knowing the city. To Don Jose thank you very much for your attention and good service, I am Colombian and I stayed there for 10 days in the month of Dec 2017, I was happy. It's a quiet and very safe place.

Well I'm on my last night here… but I'm sure it will end well… when I stay in a hostel, I expect a room with a bed, ventilation, and a bathroom… I've always gotten a single w a bathroom in the room… so with that said… I liked the place… yes it could use a little sprucing up… and I would have loved a replacement blanket but I never asked… I brought my own but I'm not sure if they have towels… but the price can't be beat. The staff is nice and helpful and keep in mind they only speak Spanish… the coffee was brown and the ac was cold… it's on a quiet part of the block… and close to lots of things… and the ADO bus is like a 10 min walk, you will want ADO bus if you dont take the package toura… and the local bus to the hotel zone is on Av. Tulum another 5 to 10 min walk… car rental is literally next door… the snack shop is 2 min away…

Conveniently located near ADO terminal. The air-conditioning broke down when I got there, so was the Wi-Fi. It includes free breakfast and a good chance to meet backpackers around the world.

A disgusting, if it's cheap and good location, but the rest horrible.
The cheap comes out expensive, we stayed, we were just going to take a nap, we went for a walk and when we arrived at the hostel approximately at 11 pm our things were outside that because they were wrong and that room was already reserved, it was the courage of our Life as they were holiday and at that time we had to look for a hotel and didn't cost us much work to find one. I honestly don't think that's worth it.

This father does not depend on guides you see Foreign and more oriental people who walk around the city of Cancun as if nothing and that I ase feel safe.

Nice room, big and a warm shower. Good Wi-Fi (because the router was in our room). The breakfast is only a little bit scanty.

The cheapest hostel ever but the not a good one to stay at.

Very good treatment, cleanliness and facilities to spend a good stay in Cancun.

They are regular rooms, a bathroom in hallway for several rooms was the least I liked, very affordable price to be Cancun and very good location.

Is a hostel more or less clean but very cheap. The Wi-Fi signal is good.

To start positive: it's cheap. Room we had was filled woth mold and it smelled like someone died in there. No windows, no ventilation and so no fresh air.

This father this hostel, has rooms private cheap and this located near restaurants, shops and the market 28 that is of handicrafts, souvenirs and all that, definitely would return to meet me here.
