The location is very good. Economic, friendly staff and have all the transport information that is very helpful. Someday I'll be back!

Good furnished hostel providing most of the staff a traveller needs. Beds are also comfortable. 2 Stars because of the unfriendly staff. They were only doing the stuff they had to do without any enthusiasm. The day we left (spent the whole day in Tequila and came back at 22:20), when we were getting our backpacks that we left at the hostel, we were asked to pay 80P because we came after 22:00.? (Fairenough it was written small at some paper around the reception). However they wouldnt even quickly let us settle our stuff without paying, although the lobby was almost empty. We did it anyways. What kind of a good bye after 4 nights. The place is quite dark aswell, positive vibes were also missig (atleast when we stayed there).

Ke is a place trankilo and because it has the basic services and fences l center.

Agradable y pintoresco lugar. A veces los huéspedes pueden ser muy ruidosos. Pero el servicio y amabilidad de los dueños lo complementan.

5MBP/s internet. And quite bad. Only worked on my laptop half the time. At first I thought I would rate this place lower but it did slightly grow on me. First positive to note is that the bunk beds in the dorms are DOUBLE beds and comfortable, they are very spacious, so if you are tall like me you can lay diagonally and stretch out. Also there are electrical outlets in every bed so you can charge your electronics while sleeping and feel secure. Lockers could be improved. They are down by the kitchen and small instead of in the room and large enough for a backpack. Kitchen is acceptable and there is free water. I think you could make standard meals with ease here and it is spacious enough to accomodate two people cooking at the same time as well as others coming in and out for the free water (a nice cold dispenser or room temp if preferred) The common areas could be improved. There is no real comfortable spot to sit down apart from a small couch in the lobby. In the TV room all the chairs/benches are wood and some are very lopsided leading to uncomfortable seating. (Also the reading material is a joke. There is a bus guide from 2014… for Los Angeles?!?! Why? ) Location is good. You are pretty close to some suitable cheap restaurants and not too far from many of the sights you want to see in the city (Various cathedrals and churches etc…) as well as shopping and public transportation. The roof area is a cool spot to watch sunset (or maybe sunrise as well).

Amazing hostel. Owner helped me book a car ferry. Legend. I would have been lost without him.

Good hostel. Cheapest in Guadalajara. Hot showers. Good Wi-Fi. Supermarket is 4 blocks away. Breakfast is minimal with Cornflakes and coffee. No comfortable chairs to sit on as they are all made of wood or metal. My bed is a double mattress which is excellent. The manager speaks fluent english.

It had been all very well. The day we were going to leave the hostel myself and my friends were enjoying a little while on the terrace and half an hour before checking out the guy went and made it there on the terrace. We practically felt that they ran us. There was another guy who was very kind to us but this one was very rude, in a nutshell we ran.
We were invited not to stay at this hostel again.

I was able to meet many places of interest thanks to the good orientation of the staff
There was always hot water in the showers
The place includes breakfast for the best price.

Picturesque place, my room was very comfortable and clean, the staff very attentive at all times.

It was generally good, the breakfast was simple (coffee, cereal, milk, yogurt, tea, juice, fruit) but was a plus anyways, there's a kitchen if you want to cook anything else. The place is nice and cozy and fairly close to downtown, about five blocks away from Av. Juarez. They have Wi-Fi, an available computer if you need it, and a TV in the dinning room, also a nice rooftop with a grill. They are a bit disorganized with the rooms and may move you around. I had to stay in a freshly painted room for one night (the paint smell was very strong) and then they moved me to a different room. The receptionists attitude could be better.

Super recommended, the facilities are in good condition and great location. :D.

Not the posh style you might expect from a resort or 4 Star hotel, this is a Hostel with good accommodation. Charming and eclectic, there is room to spread out and commingle with other guests. The owner lives on the property and is very helpful with whatever questions about the city and area you may have. The roof top is fun and friendly.

Very friendly staff, excellent for slow travelers or digital nomads.

The Roof is located in the heart of Guadalajara right next to the Centro so doing the touristy things in the city is easy to accomplish without transport, and it is a short walk from the old bus station where you can take buses to cities nearby. The staff are very helpful with finding budget activities in the area, and the rooms are nice with big beds. In addition, there are loads of places to eat located around the hostel at all hours of the day.

Overall pretty good hostel. First on I've been to with queen size beds in the dorms. The only thing I didn't like was that there seemed to be a lack of bathrooms.

The hostel has great location in Guadalajara's downtown. I enjoyed staying there because it's a great budget option although some light on the rooftop would be nice.

The Roof Backpackers is a great Hostel. Staff is particularily kind and willing to help. Atmosphere is nice for both socializing and resting (the latter may be kind of hard to find in a hostel) Restrooms are excepcionally comfortable, as well. Cleanliness can be improved, but my guess is that it is kind of harder to achieve in the summer, so it is not such a big deal…

I love this hotel, the best. Very cool to have fun and the best thing is that is located in the Centre of guadalajara.

Excellent family run place is like being at home very cosy and very good people. If you want to know an environment tapatio is the place for tequila… the location is very central.

Location was pretty good, a bit far from the main walking street and cathedral area, but close to the Templo Expiatorio, which is cool looking and worth checking out. The street this hostel at was pretty quiet, which is good for sleeping at night. Staff there were very nice and helpful. The hostel looked cool with its public area. There's also complimentary breakfast. Cons: the windows in our room were locked. There was no way that we could open them, so it was quite hot in the room. Due to our"sudden lack of hot water"experience with our last hotel, we asked the staff if there was hot water in our private bathroom. She laughed because the question might have sounded stupid to her, then she told us""of course there is! " I had a warm shower that night, but the second morning, we couldn't get any hot water, even though we've tried to let the cold water from the second night run for a long time, no hot water came out. For some reason the Wi-Fi disconnected itself constantly when we were in the room. Sometimes it says"IP configuration failure", sometimes it's just"obtaining IP address" forever. When you are lucky, you get to connect to the Wi-Fi for maybe 10 minutes. The staff there told us iPhones seem to work better, maybe our phones (Nexus 6p, Nexus 5x) just weren't good enough. Backpackers there stayed in the livingroom chatting and laughing until very late when we tried to go to sleep. I was waken up around 2a.

Rooms were dirty, Wi-Fi disconnected constantly and took 15-20 attempts and about ten minutes to reconnect each time. Upon checking in I specifically asked if there were hot water showers, to which the woman showing the room giggled and replied "of course. " There was no hot water. People were drinking in the common area until 2am, then right before bed I think they decided to start moving furniture around or something. There were sounds of heavy things scraping across the ground throughout the building. There are cheaper, cleaner places to stay in central Guadalajara.

This hostel has very good location in center of town. 10 minutes walking to main Cathedral for example. Supermarket is 5 minutes walking but small shop is just on corner so you will be okey. The price for night is I think the best deal what you can find in Gudalajara. I'm here already 1 month and I will stay probably more. You will find good vibe here and nice people ;)

This is good valued place. A mixed dorm room is 120 pesos per night and it contains the biggest dorm beds I have ever seen, they are seriously massive. It has free Wi-Fi which is pretty quick and a TV with cable and DVD's to watch. There is a courtyard and of course a rooftop where you can sit and relax. There is also a kitchen with filtered water available. Its reasonably close to main historic centre, easily within walking distance. It's slightly rough around the edges but it has everything a backpacker who is looking for good value cheap places could want.

Great place with backpackers from all over the world. Galo, the owner, is a very cool guy who is there whenever needed. The location is good as well because it is on a quiet area but walking distance to all the action. Perfect place to stay for a great price in Guadalajara.
