Ok. I want to start by saying I am a loyal Hilton customer which is why I booked this hotel plus it had good reviews. BIG mistake this time! I arrived on a Sunday at 1:30 pm and was told my room would be ready at 3:00. It was 5 before the room was ready which was not a huge deal. Headed to the room and the carpet in the hallway looked like it had not been vacuumed in weeks. Opened the door to the room and it stunk… a musty smell with a hint of urine mixed in. It was not good. The room had not been vacuumed at all. The walls were dirty and I could even see dirty hand prints on them. The bathroom had hair in the sink and it looked like a coke had exploded on the wall by the light switch. I had to look under the bed now. I saw a dirty floor with dead bugs and a bottle cap. I was not surprised to be honest. Went to the front desk and the people working were nice enough and they explained the hotel was at full capacity over the weekend. This was their explanation why the place was so dirty… WOW! The location is not close to anything to walk to like a restaurant, shopping, gas station, etc. It is located on a busy road that has truck traffic ALL night long! I can't understand all the positive reviews of this place. I would never, ever recommend staying here. It was not a deal either at $88 a night! Please do youself a favor an look elsewhere in San Juan del Rio. I found one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed at across town. A hacienda right across from the mall with restaurants right next door. If fact, there we many things close by to walk to and it was about $10 USD more per night… a bargain! I hope this helps someone. I was here in mid July, 2016.
