Amazing Hotel! And cocktails!

Just loved every moment and the staff were world class.

Decorated with modern, romantic, and a welcome very Warm, Buddha Bar is the restaurant that I prefer in the whole island. With friends I spent an evening magical and memorable. The dishes awaken taste buds and the cocktails are very original. Jespere to return very soon.

Nice 4* plus. Service AF the pool isn't the best one but dinner is good quality. Boat house team is one of the best and kids club is amazing.

It was a truly amazing place with friendly helpful staff. The grounds of the hotel are stunning and the beach front rooms have such beautiful views. The staff are friendly and helpful, particularly the staff at Citronellas where we were made to feel like part of the family. We also had our wedding here and Isabelle ensured that it was a prefect day, seamless. Thank you to everyone for making our stay so perfect.

Great place to unwind and relax, close to the center and a beautiful beach.

We had lunch in your restaurant for Sunday lunch, the food good but the service leaves something to be desired. Order two glasses of rosé, served only one. Order a sparkling water at the beginning of the meal, the waiter asks us if it is necessary to make one or two bill, we do not have anything to ask, and come back with a flat water. My friend has ask to have a little bit of olive oil, the boy came back with the oil and balsamic bottle that was sealed that he has laid out on the table. Unless I'm mistaken, your hotel restaurant is a 4 star, but the restaurant is only 1 tiny star.

It was a memorable honeymoon with such friendly and accommodating staff.
Rajen cleaned our room and added something special, either flowers or fruit or a little gift every second night…

The rooms are gorgeous and have excellent facilities but I found that there can be improvement in the cleanliness standard: 1. My loo did not have a fresh smell the entire time 2. I put the bath robe belt in the bath tub for laundry as directed as it was not clean but found it returned to the gown in the evening. 3. The glass that I'd used the previous day still had my lip stick mark when I came to use it the next day : — ( The waiters at the bar did not know the wine selection well so ordering took longer than necessary due to the back and forth. One thought that Chardonnay was red wine. Training would help to reduce the friction in this area. On both arrival and departure luggage took a very long time to get to the room and from the room to the transport.

I am having a very good time at sugar beach. It is indeed the best one. Fantastic Housekeeping team. Room is very spacious, perfect, well cleaned and tidy. I would recommend everyone for this hotel. Thank you housekeeping Great job indeed.

In 2015 I took the honeymoon and I can assure you that it is a magnificent structure, really heavenly. The 5 * structure is really beautiful, the kitchen of the highest quality and you have the possibility to choose among various restaurants. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. I recommend you as a destination for your honeymoon, or even to get married in the village.

Holliday at Sugar Beach with family was fantastic, beautiful room with sea view nice landscape with large space for children.
Our welcome was excellent at the Reception with the sugar cane juice Room was beautiful and well maintained housekeeping services were excellent (cleaning and anticipating our needs) large variety of food on the buffet at the Restaurant Mon Plaisir that was very tasty, service was excellent on the second night we were at the Citronella Restaurant there also was a good experience food and service was excellent Turn Down service fantastic with bed deco, Kids club my son had a wonderful moment enjoying playing. Overall we had a memorable experience and all staff are very friendly and very helpful.

This place is beautiful. Fantastic beach and pools. Great choice of food. Rooms are ok, if a little dated. However they catered well for my family with a cot and extra bed. What lets it down is sometimes slow service. Many members of staff just don't seem to be on the ball. We waited for too long to get high chairs, coffee, drinks on too many occasions. The gym staff were nice but equipment is fairly dated. The spa staff and facilities were amazing and I highly recommend getting a treatment. I'd like to say however Rajessen who worked in the Tides bar was amazing and a credit to the resort with his hard work ethic and friendly manner.

Excellent Hotel structure overall n excellent food too at dinner and breakfast but very unprofessional staffs, I was sadly disappointed. I don't recommend this hotel. I hope it improves it's staffs training toward customer care and I am sure it will be the best experience u may have, but till then…

Found the staff to be polite. Rooms have everything you need. Beach is lovely. Great place to relax for weekend.

1. Cleaning staff member Ferdinand at unit 796, 797 and 794 was exceptional, also polite and unit cleaned and neat. 2. Person distributing towels at the quiet pool always on the phone, never once asked for room number. We had to help ourselves. 3. Drinks service on the beach in front of our units was poor, waited long and sometimes never came 4. Staff were reluctant for us to add a tip to the bill as they said they never receive it. According to them to is retained by the hotel. They asked for cash instead which was a bit disturbing! 5. The restaurants staff's performance was a inconsistent. You had a feeling some were permanent staff which performed well but the majority were casuals and did not care about service.

Very good service and clean Resort Classic.

Everything was perfect except I objected to paying for water with the meal. The staff were so friendly and really tried to spoil us all the time. The rooms were spacious and clean, the surroundings were fantastic and the pool was amazing with plenty of sunbeds. The food in the restaurant was varied and always hot and plenty of choice for everyone. Enjoyed the free activities and trips organised by the hotel. Probably the best hotel I have ever stayed in.

Even if the rooms are no longer one of the most modern, and a refresher would be necessary, the overall impression of the holiday resort is excellent. The staff is extremely friendly, whether it's a chambermaid, a waiter, a cook or a reception. You always get a smile. Food and drinks are at star level and the service leaves nothing to be desired. The resort is huge, so you never feel like it's too crowded in the hotel. In addition, the entire complex is very well maintained and invites you to linger everywhere.
The Sugar Beach Resort and Spa Hotel can and must be recommended. We'll be back for sure.

Only defects the motor boats that pass too close to the shore and the water not transparent as we expected.

Whole experience was extremely positive. Suggestions for improvement — drinks even the local beer were prohibitively expensive — £12 sterling for a pint of local beer is excessive. We were allocated room number 666 — which we were very dubious about — can I suggest that this number is removed as is the case in other hotels.

I was on a weekend the hotel with family and I was very pleased with the peaceful atmosphere and nice helpful staff. Though the weather was cloudy and sometime rainy due to a depression in the nearby region, we were able to keep ourselves busy with many activities like kayak, tennis, swimming and also the nice food. Keep it up, we'll surely come back again soon.

In the photo nn makes. But if you're looking for crystal clear sea… Seychelles or Maldives… here you have to move to Flick en flack… More about… otherwise the Aux Cerfs and indoor excursion with quad … there's a lot to see as a landscape… Deserves.

Perfect structure in a dream place. The accommodations are equipped with everything. The garden all around is well-kept, every detail in every corner of the resort is, including swimming pools and beach. The kitchen of the buffet varies and prepared with the same attention of the thematic restaurants out of package. Every night a different menu with the basic constants. And every night quality entertainment. Live music, DJ sets and more. The top is the staff. Everyone is lovely and they work with a smile. Go to the Waves bar in the evening… Cedric is the most friendly and kind waiter but they are really all, from the staff of the restaurant, numerous to the guys of the boat houses to the people in the rooms. Nice looking beautiful. Amenities in a heavenly island.

The majority of staff were very attentive and friendly, but some need extra training in the art of looking after the guests. Service in all of the restaurants was very slow, one occasion the same waiter was asked three times for a drink, One evening a booking for 8.30pm at Tides, I was not seated until 9.10pm and waited a further 20 minutes for the food order to be taken. I was also somewhat surprised when settling my bill that the coffee pods in the room were charged for on a daily basis. Given that this hotel classes itself 5 star and that each room has tea/coffee making facilities this is the first hotel I have been charged for the privilege. There are several extremely nice staff members working at this hotel. They made my stay with you bearable but on the whole, as mentioned before much more attention to detail is required.

The best hotel in the west coast of Mauritius. Spent 3 nights with family. Food was very nice with lots if variety. The kids club caters for children activities, lunch and others with utmost care. The personnel is very attentive and caring, specially the house keeping. Looking forward for my next stay, provided that not travelling abroad.

The hotel is great; great food that always had at least one Michelin worthy course, great housekeeping, very nice drinks, big pools, lots of activities, nice gym. But the service in the restaurants… it's sooo slow… It makes Jamaica look like a factory, yeah, that bad… And there is no shortage of waiters either, they just work slow, redundant and they talk a lot to each other instead of servicing guests. I almost got a feeling a manager had to give an order for any work to get done. Few exceptions existing, but I think those were senior/management.

Beautiful park, excellent buffet, friendly persinnel but small rooms and a little dated.

Thank you so much for a lovely stay in your gorgeous resort. Our children adored the Sun Kids Club and asked to go for every meal, as well as the organised water activities. It was amazing to see them discovering new skills (windsurfing! ) and making new friends. I specifically liked the notices put on the club door to communicate special activities such as the live theatre and farewell breakfast. Our only issue was that in our room (garden view Manor house 783) the beds were small and uncomfortable to the point of having body aches during our 3 night stay. Perhaps they could be improved with a mattress pillow-top. Our extended family in other rooms (540 & 539) had no such issues. Otherwise, a great time was had. Happy New Year to the team.

I stayed in Sugar beach for 6 Nights. Sugar Beach Hotel location is very attractive, Very good and stunning. All staff members are very humble and very supportive. Service is very fast and very excellent. Specially, Heineken beer DJ is very fabulous. We enjoyed a lot. Only I faced problem was that We did not get the proper Indian food. Please improve for Indian Peoples.

Good service in general. The facilities are very good and well maintained and maintained. The buffet is good but in our opinion it would have to improve a bit.

Sugar Beach Resort was an awesome and beautiful resort. The setting of the Hotel was well placed. You could see the sea in most parts of the restaurant where the food was delicious both breakfast and dinner (we were on half board). The evening entertainment was good. The staff were the best — from Management to the cleaners. They could not do more for us — always happy & smiling, concerned and did everything we ask within 10 mins when possible. I used the spa which was awesome … the Hammam, massage and scrub. Wow! We used the sports facilities which was great to. A place to stay when you go to Mauritius. Maybe next time I will upgrade my room which will be worth it. Thank you to all the management and staff especially the Chefs who looked after us.

Great Resort, you can switch from the La Pirouge resort to the Sugar Beach resort quietly as they are connected.

Location absolutely beautiful, relaxing and very nice. The service is very friendly and the staff are very helpful. 2 superb pools and a beautiful beach as far as the eye could see — without waves, ideal for children. The rooms are very nice too (impeccable bedding, air conditioning, bathtub…). Several activities available including an outdoor cinema screen. Everything is very well Agency of sorts that night activities do not turn into giant Ibiza ppur those who want to rest. A great place to rest and visit Mauritius. I was on a business trip.

We had the pleasure of visiting your hotel and have certainly rated it as a MUST to come back again. The staff were a lot more welcoming and had greater people skills than the hotel we had been at. The food was exceptional and we loved the sharing of company with the birds :) The beds were very comfortable. Just a little note: our basin was cracked. That was not a problem for us but it needs to be addressed with maintenance. Your gardens are exceptional. We even adventured on the bus route and had some fun. Thank you for a lovely stay. We will certainly recommend this resort.

Superb all round. Except for a Tides restaurant manager who was extremely rude and did not know how to handle himself in front of a table of 16 of us. That made a small dent for the team opinion early on, but everybody else was absolutely magnificent and made up for it. The food (breakfast & dinner) was out of this word and so was the staff. Drinks service a little slow and over-priced, but other than that I am happy! The location is idyllic and the overall takeaway is that I will definitely be back! Thanks Nicholas & team!

The welcome was outstanding and the overall stay satisfactory. However we were surprised at the antiquity of the hotel and the little friendliness of many waiters, we had expected an experience as good as welcome throughout the stay.

My wife and I came to Sugar Beach for our honeymoon and we couldn't have had a more enjoyable time. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly from arrival right through to our final day. The waiters made a special effort to get to know us and our regular drinks orders! The rooms are very comfortable and welcoming. The amenities are good and the mini bar is well stocked! The housekeeping were fantastic, keeping our room spotless throughout the entirety of our stay. I could not praise them enough. The food and drink provided was fantastic. At the main restaurant, every night was a different culinary experience so we never got bored of the meals on offer. As an alternative, the Tides restaurant was also very good, especially the lunch menu. I cannot fault the bar one little bit. As I mentioned, the bar staff got to know our drinks orders and had them readily available as soon as we found a spot by the pool/beach. The cocktails were delicious and there was a large variety to choose from. Being in Mauritius, naturally the rum cocktails were the best. All in all it was the best honeymoon we could have wished for. Thank you Sugar Beach for giving us the best memories and we hope to re visit again in the future.

We enjoyed our stay in Sugar Beach Hotel very much. Perfect location for all the transport. Beach is very well located and very clean and private position. Hotel rooms and all the restaurants are very well maintained. Can't complain. Staff were very well mannered and were always happy to help. Will definitely try and come again.

We went on a honeymoon and by the operator, we were presented with a dinner.
It is very good resort to go when it is winter in Mauritius. The room is unbeatable, it is very spacious, as well as everything in it, for example, the bed is 1, 80m. We also liked that they had among their staff a Spanish citizen, Pep, who was in practice there and took care of check-in and resolve all doubts and showed us the operation of the resort.
To highlight the service and attention shown by Rishi, the person who was in charge of our room and above all, of SORAB, the person in charge of the "cabana" of the swimming pool of the South, which was in charge at all time that we did not lack anything.
What we did not like was the attention of the staff in the buffet area and the Tides restaurant. You called them and they seemed to ignore you. They realized that you were demanding their attention, but they were not too fast to assist you. Quite the opposite in the restaurant La Citronella. It seems a lie that both restaurants are from the same group.

Overall it was nice experience. Staff was friendly, our room attendant Janine was polite, happy and friendly. We had booked a table for dinner (when we booked in) at Citronella's, when we got there we were told that there was no reservation. It took a while before we were finally seated although it was 9.15 pm and there were a number of empty tables. The service was professional and dinner was very nice.

Hotel located in an idyllic setting that has large and comfortable rooms, spectacular gardens impeccably manicured, a magnificent beach, with all kinds of entertainment and services, some indoor lagoons full of birds…
The facilities are really cozy and you have all kinds of services, such as:
— Bars and restaurants: the variety and quality of the food is irregular, there are dishes that really surprise you and some really mediocre (put a veal steak in a letter from a theoretical 5 star outside the surprise children's menu…).
I also do not share the philosophy of all inclusive. There are many dishes and drinks with supplement, you should review and limit supplements to products that really justify it (lobster, caviar or first brands of wines and spirits).
Also highlight the chaotic organization of the services, especially the midday in the tides. It is not seen that there is a maître or head of the service, everyone took commandos without assigned areas, you had to claim the dishes, others were repeated, others returned to the kitchen for incorrect, sometimes came out first and second at a time… an authentic Nonsense that justifies his famous slowness. Regardless of the errors (understandable) of the young staff eventually, the worst problem is the lack of a clear responsible who orders the service.
Finally, to indicate that the quality of the Mon Plaisir (breakfasts and buffet dinner) is very scarce for a supposed 5 stars.

There was a lot of staff in all areas but normally speaking between them, took so long to come to you or you had to go to your to tell. We went as honeymooners, and the night that we arrived we did not have the details that they told us at reception, t-shirt, pareo and sparkling wine. We said yes the next day was not for us to claim at reception. What we had to claim 3 times and on the 4th day, they brought us the gift. In the buffet of the dinner passed us on the 3 occasions that we ask for the drink, and took more than 20 min to arrive, when he arrived as we were finishing dinner.

Room too small and bathroom outdated. Restaurant good. Glass bottom boat was overbooked till the next 2 days… shame.

Coming to Mauritius and staying at Sugar Beach hotel was what dreams are made of. We've never had such an extravagant holiday, purely because we couldn't afford it. After loosing our 4 parents between July last year and January this year, we decided to spoil ourselves as a family. We were blown away by the place and its fantastic staff. Each day was enjoyed to the fullest and we very quickly fell in love with your beautiful country and its friendly people. Our rooms were outstanding. A few steps and we were out on the beach. We enjoyed many a sunset and often after dinner before going to bed we would lie on the deck chairs on the beach and watch the stars. What a treat. We loved our morning walks on the beach and were amazed at how much the staff did to keep the beach in such a pristine condition especially after a few days of very high tides. Our grown boys loved the water activities, even though we had four days of the red flag flying. The pool next to our room was amazing and the boys loved their time spent in it. The Sports Bar, Tides and the football and volleyball games provided many opportunities to meet people. We have so much praise for your hotel and all those that work so hard to make it the special place it is. My husband whose father was born in Mauritius and left at the age of 21 found it very special to look up the old family graveyard, where his father went to school and the places he used to frequent as a growing boy.

Loved our holiday here. Staff are very helpful, friendly & the views amazing. A short walk to the beach, pool & restaurant from our room, which was great. Food outstanding too.

Sugar beach resort & spa is peaceful place on this planet. I really enjoyed these moments which I spent in la pirogue & sugar beach. All staff of both hotels are properly well mannered & corporative. I think your service made our time memorable for all time. I want to come again next time inshaAllah. I suggest also everyone to all my friends & relatives to stay there. I just want to say that you should include some pakistani food in your buffet & hire some pakistani chef into your kitchen staff. Because I miss pakistani food there. Indian food & pakistani food is approximately different. In last I just want to say you should give any souvenir to your guest's because it gives a good impression to them & also memorable for them. Most definitely not a 5 star. If the sister hotel next door is a 4, this is a 3.5. We have just got back after 21 nights and having our wedding there. The wedding was so badly co-ordinated. We only saw the the young woman once before the wedding, then for 5minutes before. Many things went wrong, too many to list. All I would say is check the location on the morning of your wedding. Find out how the service is done. We placed a camera to video ours. Only to find out we were sat at a table. It's the brides big day. Why hide the lady in her dress behind a table. Had we known, we would of asked for it not to be there. They also place white boards on the beach. I was told it was for women who wear high heels. Not sure you would if you were having a beach wedding. Please just do your research before and on the morning of your wedding.

I stayed from 12/28/15 to 1/5/16 with my wife and a couple of friends. The structure is undoubtedly beautiful and functional. The services largely insufficientie and characterised by an evident lack of managers ' Guide. Dramatic waits for drinks.

Sugar Beach Resort on the island of Mauritius. I visited the Hotel and had a quick snack at the Tides restaurant that in on the beach front. It was an experience. The speed at which I was served, the great quality and the price was value for money. The staff so friendly and efficient. I can say that the same level has been maintained even after so many years of existence. Anybody visiting Flic en Flac should stop at the resort for lunch but call and make a reservation first.

We went there with my wife in January 2015.
It's in a vadre magical we have tabled our suitcases in the sublime hotel where the staff was extraordinary during our 10 days there.
The gastromie is at the appointment but you can also choose the half — board where each night the (huge) buffet is different, the gastronomy of each country is represented and beautifully.
Activities are numerous, although a little expensive compared to agencies that abound in every cities.
An unforgettable moment, of people with a generous culture and impeccable service.
I advise vivrment this place to you who read me without restraint.
Already nostalgic for this small corner lost in the immensity of the Indian ocean.

Super Hotel … Very friendly staff…

The Hotel is a little off these Shops are walking comfortably in the range of 10min to reach, for the village of Flic a Flac, there are free Shuttle buses. It is a sprawling complex in the colonial style of the houses (the ground floor rooms with patio, upstairs rooms with a balcony), the direction of the sea views. The upper floor has the advantage that you can leave the patio door at night open. The distant Surf rumbles muffled, as the surf zone, approximately 100 metres from the beach and the waves/walk against the shore. The area to the surf zone is the shallow waters with corals and seagrass. For snorkeling, even for Beginners and children, great, if not spectacular, to discover which, if one takes the time, and the typical hiding inputs (small sand pits from stone or coral groups) were observed. The Hotel is well maintained and gives an authentic impression. The garden is very schneißen maintained, with extensive View, and flower beds which are laid out nice, but rather easy to Care for in larger groups, but the Botanical diversity of the island. The garden could be located anywhere in the world in the same climate zone, but is not a "gate into the Botanical world of Mauritius". Special mention to the catering, which is a lush variety and exquisite taste of the category of the Hotels maximum. At least half Board is worthwhile.

I was married here in October 2011 and we had a fantastic time. The whole experience is great with beautiful beaches, swimming pools, service and food. Highly recommend this hotel.

Very well-situated hotel in a colonial-style look that extends long beach.
We are in July 2013 a week as a family (children 13 and 15) been here.
What was good?
Very large main pool, medium-sized second pool ("South pool") as a relaxation area. The concerns were abundant (hotel was 50% occupied), and every day fresh with Terry cloth covers.
The food was consistently high quality and tasty.
The superior rooms are on the ground and will enter on the patio, somewhat unusual, but you get used to it quickly.
There's a teens — and kid offer, which we have not included in claim.
The neighbouring hotel "La Pirogue" belongs to the same chain, the transition is open-plan, and you can use the facilities of both hotels (restaurants, shows, Spa).
What did not like us?
The service was not really unfriendly, but usually quite short bound (up on the team at the reception). All speak English, but partly only bumpy ("want some tea more? ").
The atmosphere in the main restaurant was restless at night, here other hotels understand better spatial separation and shades to create more peace.
