Samba is a really really great guy, most relaxed and helpful person in Mauritania. Speaks English and helped us with getting from the airport to the hostel and even went out of his way to exchange money for us. And he got us very good rates, helped us get a taxi to a taxi point to get to Atar. Without Samba our trip would’ve started very differently. Rooms are clean and so is the shower, nice roof terrace with breakfast.
We had the best experience here in the Transit Hostel. When we arrived in Nouackchott, the host, Samba, came to pick us up at the busstation. We stayed two nights on two different occasions because we went to Senegal and back. During out whole trip in Mauritania Samba helped us navigate through the country, organizing transport and translating for us when we ran into situations with locals. He is the kindest man who even mailed us some of our stuff we forgot in the hostel. Definitely recommend staying at the Hostel when you visit Nouackchott. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. Breakfast is included.

A very welcoming and comfortable stay thanks to the excellent owner. While the rooms can be warm, the hospitality and helpfulness more than made up for it. Would recommend for a stay in Nouakchott.
