Simon Hotel

My family and I stayed here before and after our cruise. If I had options to change the stay afterwards, I would have but it was Christmas and everything was booked solid around us. Between the 6 rooms we had over the two stays, every single shower was moldy — between the tiles, on the ceiling and in the caulking. The rooms were not clean — dusty side tables and grape stems from past guests under the curtains. All the beds were rock hard where you could feel the springs. Service was also horrible. I am only giving it a 2* because our flight was delayed so we were able to have late check out for our rooms albeit at an added cost otherwise it would be 1*. The breakfast buffet that was included was always being put away 15 minutes or more before the ending time. Food and drinks were not replenished unless asked so if you were on the later end of the breakfast time, there was almost nothing left. The front desk person doesn’t look up or acknowledge you even when not helping anyone else. The location did seem to be great though and walkable although we didn’t do much sightseeing so not sure how far it was from any sights.

I should be eternally grateful to this hotel-the charming young lady at reception gave me my room early when I had disembarked from a cruise in the morning many hours before normal check-in time. The hotel is modern and the rooms spacious and well furnished-but PLEASE fix the restaurant, service was non-existent, we waited most of an hour to be served and when the food came there was very little of it. Surely it can’t be impossible to organize a decent restaurant in an otherwise upscale and pretty expensive hotel. Breakfast was, mercifully, all self-service and at least the bread and pastries were good though the eggs looked inedible.

Great location for exploring the boardwalk, fort and shopping area. The room was nice and very clean. The food and view of the harbour from the bar were excellent. The gym was underwhelming, and there was no pool, but that wasn’t what we were looking for on this trip.

Beautiful hotel! Amazing food, service, sights, and more. It was relaxing and thrilling at the same time! Love love love and recommend! The people were nice, the service was fast and easy to access, everything was nice and clean and orderly!

Receptionist had us change rooms three times and in the end we had to make our beds ourselves to get those two twin rooms we booked.
The restaurant is ok but very slow. No lunch, just breakfast and dinner.
The hotel nears a dangerous zone with drug dealers.
The rooms themselves are fine.

The hotel and hotel rooms are beautiful, clean, spacious and situated in a great location. We were initially feeling very happy we decided to stay here on our stay at FDF. But the bar and restaurant that they advertise however leaves you feeling unwelcome and disappointed you stayed here. It clearly states on their website and room amenities booklet that the Boli Bar Terrace was a place where guest can enjoy drinks and Tapas. We arrived shortly after dinner to taste their dessert menu and drinks. Not only were we denied seats at the terrace since they stated the area was ONLY for patrons who would be eating dinner. They said the terrace was not an area where one can have drinks and alcohol. So we were directed to sit in their living room style lounge that had comfy enough sofa style chairs but very low tables. They said I could have our desserts on these very small low tables. Our group was 4 persons on a table fit for 1 or max 2. Anyhow, we conceded since we thought to try their menu. It took a while for someone to take our order but once we ordered they returned with:
1 — the liquor or drinks listed on the menu was not available.
2 — we were not allowed to order food or desserts as the inside lounge was only for drinks. Then some fussing around they allowed us to order dessert. But we were only allowed to pick one dessert (we picked 2). When we asked why they only responded with "you can only have 1"

The front desk staff are friendly and chatty. The room clean and comfortable. A little too much air freshener had been used. I had to open the windows for an hour to get rid of the stink of it.
The bar had no beer apart from corona and desperado. Not a Lorraine or a Heineken to be had!
As for the food. My starter of shrimp was very nice! The main left me disappointed.
The serves were friendly enough.
Good location in FDF if that’s the part on the island you want to be.

I have booked this hotel already several times for business travel. This is a modern, business hotel. Rooms are clean and comfortable; nothing more. Breakfast is buffet but relatively limited. Location is at the 'port' ; in walking distance of the center. Personnel is usually friendly and helpful. However the seating in the restaurant and the bar is really not comfortable. It is like some fancy designer who tried to create something but it doesn't sit comfortable (very low seating), both in the bar and the restaurant. Food for dinner is also soso; not the best restaurant. Would I book it again? Yes because, there is no better choice in Fort-de-France from a business travel prospective. If for leisure/vacation; no way!

They are not at all at the level especially on the hotel! What a pity!
I will keep the memory of a disorganized and dirty hotel that took us for milk cows!
