Sliema Chalet Hotel

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was honestly one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had.
The biggest problem is the mattress. It is extremely old, worn out, and uncomfortable. You can feel every single spring through it. Sleeping on it feels like lying on nails. I spent the entire night turning from side to side because my back was hurting, and I simply could not find a comfortable position. A hotel room is supposed to provide a place to rest, but getting any decent sleep here is almost impossible.
The room itself is unbelievably small, cramped, and stuffy. There is barely enough space to move around, and the lack of fresh air makes it feel even more uncomfortable.
Cleanliness was also disappointing. The bedding had small hairs on it when I arrived, which immediately made me question whether it had been properly changed and cleaned.
What frustrated me most was the complete lack of any solution when I reported the problem. I explained that the mattress was so uncomfortable that I could not sleep and that my back was hurting. The response I received was essentially: “There is nothing I can do. ” No alternative room, no attempt to help, no compensation, nothing.
I paid around €90 for a single room with a single bed. Traveling alone should not mean accepting a terrible mattress and sleepless nights. Quite honestly, this room would not be worth the price even if it were half as expensive.
If a good night’s sleep matters to you, avoid this place.

Never again! The rooms were not even basic. The windows had no locks and when we asked for another room the locks were again broken. They refused to give us a room with the basic securities. A freaking lock! We spent at least one hour arguing with the front desk were they were refusing to give us a new room claiming they were fully booked, guess what, they weren't. The only reason we were given a new room, was because my friend heared the receptionist speaking in the phone with the "manager" and making fun of us. They were speaking Russian and my friend can understand the language. When confronted he went pale, stammered an apology and by a "miracle " he gave us a room with a lock.

Booked this place at very short notice due to the place I originally booked being inadequate. I stayed in a single room with ensuite shower. It's very basic but clean and a literal stones throw away from the sea. The roof terrace is fabulous to just look out at the sea. Kitchen does not have much in the way of appliances, just a fridge freezer and kettle. It's shame the cooker wasn't working and that there was no microwave or toaster but there are many places to eat at reasonable prices. Being opposite the bus stops and 10 mins walk from the ferries it's a great stop to explore the island and more. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend due to the cost and location.
