The Lodge

We stayed in the Lodge in 2023 and I often think back to it as it’s a really special place. The building itself is a renovated traditional townhouse and is absolutely stunning. You take breakfast in the inner courtyard, and with the plants, golden stone and sunlight streaming from above, it’s really magical.
Our room was on the smaller side, and we kept hitting our head on the entrance to the bathroom, but this is one of the hazards of staying in an old building, so in some ways it added to the charm :-)
The location is fantastic, being centrally located in the wonderful Three Cities area, and within very easy reach of the water taxi to Valletta (or a quick road taxi).
Dorian is a great host and made us feel really welcome. We hope to be able to stay again!

Currently staying here on a business trip and cannot fault the place. Dorian (the owner) is super helpful and responds to all messages very quickly, the room and building are beautiful, it's great location and very quiet and safe at night. Decent breakfast, too. Will definitely stay here again when I'm next in Malta.

Staying in this 500-year-old house, with an even older cellar beneath, was an unforgettable experience. The owner kindly gave me a tour and shared the fascinating history of the place. The sense of time woven into the very stones of the building added an extraordinary depth to my trip. I’m deeply grateful — it was a truly special feeling to stay in such a historic house.
On top of that, everything about the service was flawless, and the room was simply beautiful. I’m especially thankful for the generous late check-out.
This place, with its magical atmosphere and the quiet presence of centuries past, will stay with me forever.
The funny thing is, it was a real surprise for me, as I was on an offical trip to a conference, and the hotel was just randomly picked near the venue. Who would think it will be an unforgettable experience in itself.

The lodge is beautiful, dating back to the 14th century, and is set in a quiet location by the harbour in Malta. Everything about this place was stunning, we truly felt like royalty staying here! The staff were all so lovely, pleasant, and friendly. Meeting Dorian on our final day was the perfect cherry on top of our holiday.
We got engaged in Malta, and the team went above and beyond to make the room feel special for us, with thoughtful touches like biscuits and sparkling water. Nothing was too big or too small. We felt completely safe and cared for throughout our stay.
We really hope to visit again one day. Thank you to everyone at the lodge! :)

I recently had the pleasure of attending an event at The Lodge Boutique Hotel & Venue in Cospicua, Malta, and I must say, the experience was nothing short of magical. Just had a week at the lodge, absolutely loved it, the hotel being 500 years old is steeped in history and the owner Dorian will do a tour of the building, you can even do wine tasting in the cellar which we did even though we don't drink wine, well worth doing. The staff are so friendly and klari will do a tour around the city or even to Valletta. We will definetly be staying at the Lodge if we get chance to go to Malta.

The hotel is situated in the city of copsicua beside the Birgu Marina just 2 minutes from the ferries to Valletta making it ideal for a visitor to have easy access to the 3 cities and to the capital.
All around great experience.

This is a lovely boutique hotel in a great location! The staff are all so welcoming and friendly! The place is clean and comfortable. The architecture of the building is stunning! Very close to the ferry to Valletta! Definitely recommended!

We had the most amazing stay at The Lodge for a week!
Our Honeymoon Suite is a dream. The location is great — easy to get to everywhere and also being in the fantastic part of Malta.
Dorian the owner and all the staff were extremely warm, friendly and helpful, always available if we needed them.
We are so happy we chose to stay here and look forward to coming back!

This building is over 500 years old and the owners have recently refurbished. It’s stunning and we loved it.
It’s located on the heart of the historic 3 cities and so is surrounded by amazing buildings and beautiful architecture that we love.
We arrived slap bang in the middle of their festival and so it was buzzing all day. It was just fabulous.
The owner Dorian is super nice and organised breakfast and told us where to go. We were also going to meet up with him and his mum later for the feat finale but we were late. That was such a generous gesture.
Our room (Jean) was stunning. Spacious with a free standing bath. His arched ceiling. Epic!
We loved our 2-night stay before moving on to Marriott in St Julius. A different type if holiday and hotel after The Lodge. I reconfirmed everyone to stop at the lodge. Piece was cheap for location and beauty.

We picked this small hotel over some other options as we wanted to be close to Valletta but not stay within the capital. The location was ideal as it was quiet and allowed us easy access onto the main road out, and we were able to get the water taxi into Valletta, as the marina was just outside your door. It is accessible via some old stairs and the outside is really picturesque, the inside even more so, like staying in an old castle with lots of charm and character.
My partner and I stayed in the Hughes room which has a separate bathroom but they provide you with robes and it wasn't a problem for us. Breakfast is served daily with a wide variety of choice (it is all cold continental) which was suitable. The staff were helpful and welcoming and the rooms were spotless. The AC was super cold which was great, since Malta was on the edge of the heatwave and it was 40c most days. We hired a car which we were able to park nearby.

This is one of the most special places I slept in, it really feels like being in a castle!
Its great charm is only outdone by the amazing staff, always attentive to your needs. Shout out to Dorian, Natalie and Omar! Also to those we did not have the chance to meet but have as well contributed to an amazing stay!
The location is also great and peaceful in the 3 cities, pretty much in front of the ferry stop to Valletta. We loved walking around the area in the night and the super good restaurants in Senglea next to the sea. Hope to come back one day!

Brilliant hotel in perfect location to explore the three cities and Valetta. The hotel itself is beautiful, but the trip was made by the staff. We were well looked after for our great breakfasts by Omar, and everyone was so helpful and willing to share ideas for days out. The room was very comfortable. Very convenient location for the ferry to Valetta and for walks along the harbour front. Will be returning.

What a lovely getaway I experienced at The Lodge last week ❤️ Still can’t get over the gorgeous room we had. Very friendly staff and super clean environment. Sterling service and beautiful place to spend a couple of nights in. I highly recommend it. 10/10
