PP Hotel Penang

I'd like to start with the fact that the hotel might not be the best in terms of room & amenities, but they have the nicest friendly people around.
We accidentally booked the hotel a a night before we wanted to stay. As soon as we communicated with Agoda, they said they'd only be able to help us if the hotel agrees. The manager of the hotel was sweet enough to let us stay for the next night instead of the one we booked for. Such hospitality is what makes you look beyond any minor inconvenience you might face in the room.
There was always water on the bathroom floor, not sure why. But the room was clean, organized and had a luggage station which was missing in a few other hotels we stayed.
Overall, for a budget friendly option, you can definitely go for this one.

Extremely disappointing stay. The whole room was in terrible condition — everything looked old, dirty, and poorly maintained. The furniture was worn out, walls had stains, and several things were not even working properly. It honestly felt like they haven’t done any repairs or upgrades in years.
I’ve stayed in other 2-star hotels before and they were nowhere near this bad. At least those places were clean and comfortable for the price. This one, however, really felt neglected and not worth the money at all. Would not recommend anyone to stay here until they properly renovate and fix things.

If you just want a one-night stand (ONS), you can choose this place.
But if you are here for tourism, I suggest you think carefully.
Bad Reviews:
• As soon as I entered the room, I smelled a strong sour odor along with a damp smell. The floor was sticky everywhere, and I didn’t even want to walk barefoot.
• The shower head in the bathroom was old and leaking, held together with tape, but at least it was still usable.
• The pillow also had a smell. When I opened the pillowcase, there was a large yellow stain on the pillow, really disgusting!
• The next morning, there was a sign on the door asking for room cleaning, but when I came back after going out, my room hadn’t been cleaned at all!
• I asked the front desk to replace the towels, but they gave me towels with blood stains. I want to ask, who would dare to use that?
• Parking was hard to find, and cars were parked haphazardly on the roadside.
Advantages:
• Convenient location, surrounded by a food paradise, easy to go anywhere.
• The room decor is new.
• The price is not expensive.
• There is a drinking water dispenser.

Room is quite big but very run-down. Can smell the old wood furniture. Weird room design, aircon is old, installed very low and funny sound every once in a while. Shower water stream is weak and not hot enough.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. Dirty room, uncomfortable bed and smelly pillows, a room that is not soundproof, the ac was so noisy (old air con), bad services, small and inconvenience lobby hotel. I gave 1 more star for the location, but the rest were bad.

Front Office staff is very friendly. Room are comfortable. Good location. Will come back for the next stay.
