For d price of less than 200, it's this level of quality n service. But d cleanliness of d room n bathroom need more improvement. Room is big compared to those I stayed. But I find it weird to have d wardrobe in d toilet. Staff quite courteous, that's a plus. TV programs mainly sports, less on international news channels. No gym, no cartoon channels except by default of d station u happened to tune in. Have 2 pools.

A frequent traveller and one of my favourite hotel. To stay when on business trip or holiday But this recent stay is very disappointing. The toiletries are not replenish daily and has to ring whenever needed The toilet bowl flash is not working well. Though raised a complaint, a foreigner from housekeeping was sent and thought how to operate the flash Gosh. It sounded as if I am from an alien planet who do not know how to operate. I also noticed the numbers indicated the floors in the lift has worn out. One needs to look and search for the floor level to press. The cafe foods are not replenished. Forks and spoons and be asked. The fresh milk was found to have inserts in it. Tables are not wipe for the next guest These really pissed me and disappointed. I really hope the management and F&B dept please look into this serious if ypu want to up keep the name of the hotel and leave a good and pleasant image /memory by the guest.

Just visiting a friend who staying in the hotel. Pretty nice swimming pool and room were kinda big space. Good for price.

Conveniently located in the heart of Georgetown. It's one of the oldest hotel there and not yet refurbished. The room is a bit smelly (old) and the furniture is a bit old as well.

Good location and close to eateries. Very friendly and attentive staff. Room are large and clean. Overall a great value hotel.

Hotel has definitely seen better days. Room spacious but torn curtains, stained furniture, towels were forgotten twice, exposed electrical wires near toilet roll holder, makeshift Ikea lamp, stained shower. Staff friendly but this is one hotel I would not return to, however cheap or convenient it is.

Great place to stay, affordable, hotel room is VERY Spacious (I think the most spacious room in Penang with that price tag). Kids' swimming pool is nice too…

Not overprice, I like the view from my room directly to the beach, the room quite big for 2 people, the infuse water as a welcome drink was great. The Hotel must put attention to the Pool cleanness. Beside of that every thing going Well and thanks for give me a bowl of fruits when staying for my first Honeymoon.

Nice hotel facing sea front. 5 mins drive to town. Lots of good food outside hotel.

Nice hotel. Good location. Free parking. Facing sea. Good buffet breadfast. Near gurney plaza shopping mall.

Receptions are friendly. Hotel room is acceptable for the price. Conveniently located near food outlets & shopping mall. Downside is that hotel don't have music lounge for entertainment and walls between rooms are thin as noise from neighboring rooms can be heard. Overall is ok for short stay.

The pool was too windy so it was too cold for us especially my kids. The tap for the toilet bowl is difficult to operate because the handle is below the toilet bowl. You need to prepare RM200 for deposit. There are only 3 lifts for a 36 floor hotel. Other than that is fine.

This place has seen better days. It's not all bad but you get the feeling it's being held together by luck, duct tape and everything is on the verge of falling apart. The broken bathroom tiles to unpredictable hot water in the bathroom, to TV and hairdryer that works intermittently — give you the clear indication this place needs to be refurbished. Good value for money given cleanliness and location though. Kids had fun in the pool that had a water slide. The staff are the best thing about this hotel, they try so hard to make and keep you happy despite the challenges. The view from our rooms was fabulous, 1701 and 1704 — try and get these numbered rooms and you'll love the day and nighttime views as well.

Good location / convenient. Friendly staff/ staff at poolside very helpful. Both my kid's love this place. Room cleanliness — ok.

Everything is awesome. Wifi is slow and breakfast can be improved. Better to have more varieties of food.

This hotel was our fav hotel in Penang but during our last stay there (last weekend), everything went horribly wrong. No hot water in the bathroom. We called the maintenance team 3 times, and every time they just advised us to turn on all the water outlets in the bathroom and wait for a while. Well the water did become hotter, but not hot enough! we asked to change the room since we were going to be there for 3 nights but they said all the rooms were the same! same water heater problem! the breakfast service was also a disappointment. And the bell boy who supposed to help us with our bags, just dumped them on the hotel sidewalk.

This hotel is extremely run-down for what you would expect for the price in Penang (approx RM300). The carpets in my room are lifting and fraying, the shower looks like it hasn't been cleaned since the carpets were last laid (I actually wore thongs for it) and there was no hot water — thankfully it's not a cold country. The couches are old and stained and the furniture is wobbly and about ready to fall apart. I am actually glad to be only spending one night here. The curtains are torn and have holes in it and I have noted multiple cigarette burns in areas. I am a soldier and as such am used to rudimentary accommodation, so my expectations aren't that high but this is one place I will warn all travellers against staying. Staff are friendly though and at least the bed looks like it's been freshly made albeit with some stains.

Great hotel. Friendly helpful staff. Spotlessly clean. Great room, large in size, excellent value, good Wi-Fi, good in room facilities, good views (we were up high L34) fantastic large bay window, good air conditioning, plenty of free parking. Top marks.

We booked 3 adults per room with breakfast, but the hotel said we just can have breakfast for 2 person. And the third person must be charged for breakfast for RM. 25. What a shy… No good at all.

Harassing customer, rude staff, money stolen from my room, leaking taps, no hot water for bath, Food not good, room was stinking and room was not properly cleaned, there were stains every where, hair everywhere in bathroom This is worst hotel in my life and I will never come here again definitely! I not recommend to book this hotel.

This hotel does not wrth a mention. EVERTHING does not work in the rooms, breakfast was very disappointing. Management was very polite BUT that ends there.

1970s hotel which I could put up with if the sheets were clean. Stains on the sheets and matress, asked them to change and was ignored. The room stinks on entering and everything is filthy and old. Pool closes 19:30 and full with noisy children. I would not recommend this hotel anyone. Quite possibly the worst hotel I have ever been in, but then the hotel wasn't my choice and was some what forced in to it. If I was paying I would have gone elsewhere the moment I walked in the room.

The hotel is a little old and is visibly ill maintained. To compensate that, you get a really big room space. Still worth the money tho. Recommend for family. And yes, be patience with the water heater, the hot water only came when I was about to finish shower.

Poor service! to the extreme! The kind that can't be said! 2.30pm agreed to give room, the result dragged to 5.00pm to the room! Still have to chase, always said will give me the key card, the result waited 2 hours and a half! Or to chase, or do not know what time to get the key card! In the pursuit of the time, also give no satisfactory answer! Go back and forth to beg 3, 4 times … Haven't apologized to the customers yet! You're supposed to wait! is to drag … have been dragging … The room is not cold!

Spacious, clean room and good view. The room was old and dark at night as there was only one table lamp provided for the entire room (the room was big) The hot shower wasn't working properly, when we called to ask, we were told to leave all taps opened for at least 5 minutes (what a waste of water). Even after trying, the bathtub tap wasn't working. Breakfast was awful, the quality was so bad compared to the usual local Penang food. We were so disappointed we decided to not have their breakfast on the second day of our stay.

The ball room is so high class. I love there.

More like tourist hotel-there are groups during checkout. However, not much of disturbance for ordinary visitors. Hotel is next to reclaiming Buddha temple. Gym is really nice, plenty of opportunities. There is also a pool, but it's just 1.2m and not really big. Can't swim there. Every day fridge is filled with drinks. Note that there is a reclaiming going on next to hotel-not so terrific smell.

Lots to do and see nearby. Hotel is a little dated but was probably a great hotel in the past. Overlooks the water.

Nice hotel for business & leisure. Spacious & cozy room. Coffee house serves a relatively good choices for breakfast. Good service in general. Waterfront facing for a stroll in the evening. Swimming pool and gym are available.

Will need a little add on to hotel maintenance. Friendly staffs around to help you and not so crowded. To be honest I couldn't get the G hotel right up the road cause it's full book. That's why I stick to this. But if you can. G hotel will be a better choice.

Love this hotel… can observe sunset and rise from the room.

We choose Gurney Resort Hotel & Rasidence for an affordable family getaway. We have stayed here twice, all 10 adults and 3 children in 2 suites. The suites are spacious with large living area and a pantry which is a must when travelling in such a large group. We enjoy the hotel facilities and buffet. And the staff are always very friendly and helpful.

Very Old decor, broken door, slow internet.

Location Very good located at Lebuhraya Maktab. Walking distance to Gurney Drive, Gurney Plaza mall and Gurney Paragon. Convenience to find good taste hawker food. Opposite Adventist Hospital. Walking distance to Indonesian embassy. Walking distance to Thailand embassy.

A lot of cockroach inside the room. And they still ALIVE. Walking anywhere… on the carpet, at the bathroom, even on the bed also. We call to receptionist and wait more than 30 minutes, but no people come to settle down the problem. Really feel disappointed to this hotel.
