Super friendly & helpfull staff… felt very luxurious, a lot to explore in the resort itself… felt very very exclusive… and the beach was the prettiest of all… and its private and not crowded too… very luxurious escape I would say… the best resort in malaysia I feel… will definitely come back again… felt very welcoming… nothing to hate in this place.

What can I say. Absolutely amazing! The scenery, rooms, restaurants, staff, activities and adventures. Have stayed in a decent amount of 5 star resorts and this is on my to revisit list. Great work team Datai! Only improvement would be buggy service booking punctuality as I had to call twice for most pickups, but not a massive issue.

The best hospitality and nature experiences so far. Recommended for those who loves nature and to get away from your daily busy life. You will be amazed on how the nature and the rainforest is being preserves here. You may be surprised with what you'll be seeing crossing your balcony early in the morning or while you take a walk in the evening and it was truly an amazing experience. Tips : Always look up to the trees around you. Staff are very friendly, very helpful, always smiling and greets you be it from the front desk, the housekeepers, all the way to the nature centre, they are all very friendly. Thanks to Yasin, Daia, Dev, Sakinah, Mukhris, just to name a few I can remember (Sorry for those not mentioned) but you guys are super awesome! If I may give you a suggestion, since you have your own nature centre to preserve the rainforest, I think it will be a good move if you can label the trees around here, for additional information to the guest, such as the Pandanaceae, the Bitter Ginger etc. Overall, it was a great experience to be here. I'd give you guys 10 out of 5 stars! Surely a place to return in the future. Cheers!

Such a breathtaking resort. The service is amazing at every location, I would like to thank Syaza, Imran from Pavilion restaurant, and just everyone even the buggy drivers for excellent service. When I told them that my husband couldn't sleep due to the sounds of the jungle (which is not even their fault), they wanted to upgrade us to a suite! Thanks Aika for calling me to ask me. I wouldn't choose any other place for our 10th Year anniversary.

Beautiful hotel and surroundings in the superb Datai Bay. Great food. Wonderful friendly service. Very comfortable rooms with excellent facilities. Love their attitude to protecting the environment and the way in which guests are encouraged to learn about and understand the islands geology, plant and animal life. Certainly with the sun beds at the bay, the warm sea, pools, spa, gym, golf course, various cooking and craft courses and walks with the naturalists, no-one would ever be left wondering what to do.

The Datai is our favourite place to go for a ‘get away from it all’ Experiance.
We have stayed on 4 occasions and it never fails to deliver.

Amazing service! Everything about this hotel is well thought. From the baskets to wrist keys and housekeeping at least twice a day! Staff is very friendly and helpful and so much care during our treatments at the spa. Highly recommended!

One of the best hotels I have stayed in. In a beautiful part of Malaysia, set in stunning rainforest and with the most delightful, friendly staff — nothing is too much trouble and such a warm welcome. I commend the hotel for its environmentally friendly policies and practices — no plastic anywhere and respecting the natural flora and fauna. We had a beautiful rainforest villa with pool and were very fortunate to be able to watch monkeys and other animals go about their normal routine. Peaceful (you get used to the noise of nature! ), with stunning beaches and great activities if you want to do things (boat trips, nature walks etc. ) We will definitely visit again.

At the Datai, it is not human beings that conquered nature but nature that welcomed us in the most beautiful and ancient rainforest. Animals are here, wild but friendly. This is unique in the entire world.

One of the best resorts I've ever stayed at! Resort is currently closed for complete renovation and would be reopened in July 2018.

Truly an amazing stay! We were greeted and welcomed by very friendly and courteous staff. Upon arrival, we were offered complimentary welcome tea and drinks with a small sweet treat. The room we stayed in was spacious even with a toddler cot bed. My 22-months old was particularly pleased with the set up. We were also blown away with the breakfast option and the foie gras chawan sushi was out of this world! Our visit to the Gulai House was also pleasant. The ambience was really serene and calm. The Kapitan Chicken which we ordered had stuck in our memory to be the best overall dish. It was genuine and the flavours of spices and coconut milk was so well-balanced, making the dish itself spectacular. Additionally, here were plenty of activities on offer including free guided tour to the rainforest which unfortunately we couldn't make. Lastly, I must admit that there were less options for toddlers than I thought there would be. There are also restaurants and areas which were restricted to adult only (which we appreciate the need), but this also means that it is not an completely toddler friendly hotel. This wouldn't deter us from coming back though. We will definitely like to come back to check out the newly refurbished The Datai once our little one is slightly older. We look forward to our next stay.

Love the staff, the details they have on every contact point, food is good, beautiful hotel ground, love the natural setting (surrounded by forests), beautiful beach! One of the best hotels I have been.

The Datai is a wonderful hotel and perfectly suited for families. The accommodation is very comfortable, spacious and well appointed. The F&B selection is wonderful; catering for every taste. The most impressive aspect of The Datai is the quality of the service. Every single staff member is polite, friendly and exemplary in the service they provide. We stayed for seven (7) days and would have easily extended for another week.

The best resort I've done so far. Beautiful scenery and very clean. A small piece of paradise that has become one with nature. Monkeys swinging around your villa as you wake up and the mighty Hornbill flying around. Combined with the kindest personal and the top service will make your stay one to remember!

This has got to be one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in.
The villas are situated right in the jungle which means the sounds and animals of the jungle are right on your doorstep.
The beach is magnificent with fine powder white sand and the glorious pristine warm water is a joy to swim in. The beach goes on for miles and ample deck chairs are placed under beautiful trees. The beach staff provide you with fresh towels throughout the day as well as glasses of iced water. Special treats on the beach include complimentary tasting cocktails, ice cream cones, fruit sticks and refreshing cool face towels. We were warmly greeted on our arrival and although we had our grandchildren all under four years old with us they were made to feel most welcome. The staff at reception, at the pool and beach and all the restaurants are amazing. Nothing is too much trouble and everyone is very friendly. We found many interesting activities to participate in. The beach walks were amazing Thousands of tiny crabs literally made the beach come alive. Shells and coral and interesting hermit crabs made our walks delightful and kept the children enthralled.
The hotel offers free non motorised water sports and snorkelling. We highly recommend this fabulous hotel and can't wait to return.

We enjoyed there an unforgettable time. Everything was perfect. The hotel is stunning, the location is unique and the rooms are incredible! The manager welcomed us and the rest of the workers were very nice and helpful. Besides the assorted breakfast we had dinner there and food was amazing. It's just like being in paradise.

A lovely secluded paradise resort that highlight the best of nature. Located at the base of Mat Cincang Mountain, within a rainforest, the Datai is every nature-loving person's dream. You have the mountain, rainforest, a stream and the sea all in one resort.
What impress me the most is the Datai personalised hospitality. Each staff remembers your name, even my children's name!
Resident naturalist and marine biologist are there to give complimentary activities which includes nature walks in the morning and evenings and children activities like fishing and getting to know microscopic organisms in the waters of Datai.
If you are there just to relax and sunbathe, the Datai gives complimentary deck chairs and get ready to be pampered with unlimited chilled drinking water, ice cream, refreshing face-mists and sunglasses cleaning service!

True paradise of tranquility, loads to keep you busy if not relaxing on the picturesque beach of white sand or pool sides served by the amazing staff who smile all day. The Restuarant's are to die for so pack a size up if staying more than 5 days. The beach villa is just in one word, perfect — wouldn't change a thing. Attention to details is spot on and a touch of class in every aren! All in all a destination that will call to me again and again. Best destress ever and that's excluding the use of their amazing spa.

Very high end resort. If I could give it a 7 stars, I would! The perfect place to clear your mind and just soak up the sun by the beach. A good book, sunblock, fancy shades and bikini. You're good to go!

The Datai Langkawi would have to be, one of the best world hotels, we have experienced. We were there for a few days in the executive suite, situated within the main building with a balcony view over the water to the north which in itself was absolutely Stunning… The hotel registration process took place in the bar overlooking the main pool, whilst enjoying a cool drink… Then a walk through the hotel grounds, past the self contained bush condos and down to the beach. The service, the restaurants, the staff were second to none… It is a virtual paradise… if you don't believe me, then try it for yourself. Highly recommended.

Beautiful location, excellent private beach and friendly staff. Spacious and yet built in an conscious way. Nature walks are worth booking, and use of all boating equipment is included. Dolphins swim close by in the bay! Coral nursery is v interesting and commendable. Highly recommended!
