We have been customers of this hotel for the past 32 years … from the time it was called Holiday Inn to what it is called today. We frequent Meishan for the great dining experience. Some of the waiters and waitresses know us and we talk whilst eating. My family and I misses Mr Ho who often served us whenever we are at the restaurant. There are very few hotels and restaurants we patronise that will always want us to revisit it again.

The room is big. Overall staff is friendly. Especially coffee house zainal so help.
definitely we'll come back again.

I was impressed by the service od your receptionist forajes. She was patient and cheerful. She puts a smile on your guest faces. She even recognize it was my birthday and hand delivered a birthday cake to my room. Will definitely return and recommend your good hotel to my friends. Keep up the great work Forajes. Good, prompt & efficient service, good and awesomely sumpsuous food, clean and healthy ambience, big & so clean room of any categories etc etc.

One of the best hotel I ever stayed. Although the hotel is older then others, the rooms are quite spacious. The bed is quite springy and the pillows and bed seem to be scented. There is bathtub in the bathroom. Although it is a bit small, I am 5"8' or 173cm, it is still great and comfortable. The staff is SUPER friendly and serving. As they always greet you and very helpful in all your inquiries. Even though it is a bit of walking distance from KSL mall, it is very worth compare to staying in KSL hotel. (cheaper too) I Definitely come back to stay in this hotel next time. And I definitely recommend this to anyone going to Johor Bahru.

Location is great, free parking available and walking distance to the shopping mall. The hotel cleanes is not that good. Particularly at old wing. I recommend to book new wing somehow better.

Hotel is old, but well refurbished. Location is 9 minutes walk to KSL City. Got it for a good rate through Agoda (~$150RM) per night; cheapest among the area. Room is extremely spacious and clean. Service was good and staffs always have a smile on their face. Had a pleasant stay and would definitely return. Would also like to thank the front counter staff, Irene, whom did our check in and check out. Her service was fast and efficient.

The building is old but the interior is up to date. Honestly, the management need to refurbished the outside building and do some landscaping. The swimming pool need to be cleaned and touch up. The food is good and plenty of choice.

I've been to the hotel many times for their buffet. The food spread is pretty good. From local to western dishes. Staff are very friendly and helpful. If there is something you tried before but isn't there at the moment. They have helped me make it, so that I would enjoy it. I didn't expect it until I received it by one of their lovely staff.

Food are good, we get a buffet breakfast. The place is clean, our room was clean and with above average amenities. Staff was very helpful. We forgot our keys in room and they lend as another one. I like also the 2 meter deep pool though diving is not allowed.

Stayed here for a weekend. Was upgraded to a Deluxe room with 2 Queen beds. Check in process was easy and fast. Comfortable room, plush pillows. Great selection at breakfast. Wonderful and helpful staff.

Room looks bit old. Swimming pool not very clean. Customer service is good. Easy to reach Holiday Plaza Mall as just side building only. KSL mall is in walking distant and able to reach. Overall is good.

Large spaces in the Hall spacious rooms but to be modernized and more cleanliness in the bathroom.

Stayed one night. Great staff serving me over the counter. Had a free upgrade to suite as I checked in extremely late that night. Room was clean neat and tidy. The hot water for shower can be improved as the water was not hot enough to my preference. I will recommend for people who are staying for a short trip, going for a shopping trip over the weekend. Value for money as compared to KSL hotel.

Nice clean hotel with big rooms. Beds were extremely comfortable. Friendly and accomodating staff. Breakfast selection had a wide range of local fare. Gym and pool well maintained. Overall great experience. Only downside was it's a little walk away from malls and restaurants.

Booked a Mutiara Club room. Cleanliness was reasonable. The room is clean except for a couple of hand towels and 1 bath towel. There are stains on those towels but replacement came fast. Wall between rooms are rather thin. Breakfast spread has a decent variety of food.

阿源JB好介绍。 Came to JB to attend the funeral of a good friend’s mother and checked into Mutiara because of the attractive room rate (S$63! ) and was already pleased with the renewly renovated and spacious room. But the buffet breakfast was really something else at a mere S$15 only. Not only was the spread comparable to a 5-star anywhere else, the service standard of the staff at the cafe was more than deserving of a 5-star rating. They were efficient, friendly and were ever read…y with cheery greetings and smiles… kudos to the Mutiara management. Back to the spread; and what an impressive one it was for the price they were charging. Apart from the usual suspects, there was also 4 ‘live’ stations offering the likes of Mee Bandung, Roti John and Lontong. Even the yogurt selection had a staggering range of 6 different flavours to choose from! And my poached eggs came nicely done and served correctly on a piece of toast. Brownie points scored because some hotels can’t even get fried eggs done properly, much less poached ones! Do consider Mutiara in JB if you ever need to spend a night here; I highly recommend it!

Very spacious room! Room & bathroom are clean and generally well maintained despite the dated look of hotel's external facade. Big bathtub is a plus, overall good value for money.

Buffet food are great! Variety choices of food available, staffs are friendly and courteous. A nice place to attend event.

The exterior is quite deceiving. The interior looks much better. During check in, the staff was friendly and helpful. Even though there was a slight mistakes in the booking, he helped to correct it. I was unaware of the 200rm deposit but I booked via Agoda so it might not be their fault. However, I wasn't informed that there will be a tourism tax that would be deducted from my deposit. I only realized that when I did not receive the full deposit return upon checking out. The pillow covers had some stains and the toilet was slightly dirty, probably due to old age. Other than that, I have no complaints for the room.

Service is fair, rooms large but cleaning is questionable. Old property they are trying to make into something its not. No way to control air condition just ice cold or off and A/C runs when key card is out, reguardless if off or on.

Rooms are spacious. The hotel is kinda old and in need of an upgrade. I do not recommend paying for the club level room. It's not worth it since you get a couple of small but not tasty snacks and only one cocktail. The service is average — when I asked a waiter for coffee at breakfast he told me to go get it myself!

Huge rooms, comfortable and nice, with a bathtub, my gal loves it. Breakfast included, went to the lobby for breakfast, my gal's having a cough, the restaurant manager immediately asked the staff to bring a glass of warm water. Very observant and good service. Overall, I am satisfied with the service. Although I would suggest fresh painting for the entire building.

Cost-effective, ideal location. The food at the hotel is also quite standard, and the Chinese restaurant eyebrow Chuan is one of the most advanced and delicious restaurants in the area.

Nice big room. Facilities are ok. The only setback is the shower, only have a handheld one in the tub. Full shower head is preferable. Breakfast buffet is quite good.

Big room. Nice place. Can get a smaller room mext time and enjoy breakfast the same way.

Big Rooms with bathtubs @ fantastic rate. Shopping at Holiday Plaza next door and KSL nearby. Hotel have a spa with full body massage at rm85.

On first day of my check-in, I found 2 small cockroaches in my room — 1 inside the hotel directory file, and the other above the table top where the fridge is. There were some small insects found on the walls near the table lamp beside the bed. Some were also seen at the wall and ceiling of the bathtub. A fly kept hovering near my table where I was having my buffet lunch in the hotel coffee house. Apart from these, I found their services, whether the membership or front office staff, including the doormen, coffeehouse and room service staff were very prompt, efficient, friendly and helpful. Their excellent services help to deflect the impression I have on the issues I experience. Wendy.

I've always enjoyed staying at Mutiara. In fact we have been members for several years. Previously I've given feedback about Wi-Fi and now I'm glad that they took my feedback seriously. Reason why we kept coming back is because we love the big room and beds. The rooms are clean. On top of that, we love the widespread of delicious foods. We had breakfast this morning and tried the lempeng with the delicious sambal squid & cockles. In fact, most of my friends and relatives had joined the membership in Mutiara. Maybe they should consider to have more TV channels catered for children/family eg. Cartoons and HBO and also to reconstruct the swimming pools. Overall it's a good hotel and staffs are friendly and helpful too. Especially to all the Managers. And of course Mr Zainal the restaurant manager whom we have known for years for his efficiency and he's very friendly towards all.

Affordable accomm with decent location — KSL no more than a 10-minute walk away. Hotel is a little old though. Don't expect ace amenities. Good enough for what you're spending. Chinese restaurant on the second floor is quite good!

I've always eaten at Meisen but this time for my wife birthday we tried the buffet lunch. The whole experience was amazingvstarts from the friendly and always smiling chefs and staffs to the delicious food. I've spoken a female staff who is in black jacket to arrange a slice of cake for my birthday but she came with a whole cake with candle on Complimentary! … that was an exceeding my expectation! Good Job Mutiara for the lovely food and staffs. We will be back and recommend to others. Thank you for making this birthday a memorable one!.

I have stayed here many years back. It's good to know it is still good, though could be better. Room is spacious and clean, but the power sockets could've been better. Service wise is good. Location is good though the neighborhood could be better. Walking distance to KSL shopping where Tesco is located with plenty food available.

An older hotel but quite newly renovated. Great service and staff so far. No swimming pool or sauna. Didnt try the breakfast buffet as the room daily rate is pricey with it. Right next to holiday plaza for luxury imitation goodies. Would have given a higher rating if the price was more fair. But still would recommend for those busy travelers.

Easy check in check out. Staff are polite and friendly. Though the hotel is not new, the room we are staying was well maintained. It will be better if the pool and fitness centre's surrounding could be upgraded.
