Amari Johor Bahru Worst hotel ever! I'm in my room with no lights! And I have been calling for service since morning! And the heater is not working in the bathroom. Ive been calling and now no one is picking up the call. Just inconsiderate and useless people working here! Rubbish hotel!

Great place to unwind & chill with family… well though entertainment to keep the ever energised children. Great place to stay in with attentive staffs. Travelling with children no longer stress at Amari ☺️

We booked 3 rooms to celebrate our wedding anniversary and birthdays. This was our 2nd time at Amari. Again, at the end of the stay, we left the hotel happy and rejuvenated. Excellent customer service standard is shown at every level. I would like to special mention the Host, Nur Wahyunie Wawa and the Housekeeping Team Farah Ada, Jass. They did a fantastic job decorating our room for my husband's birthday. We felt the sincerity in their effort. Well done and thank you very much!

Claim to be 5-star but service only deserve 1 star. Impolite front desk agent who is rude to customer, urged customer to cancel booking when they can't provide what we already selected. Poor management cannot train staffs properly.

My experience as far as the service and staff there has been excellent. My main grouse is their “Best Rate Guarantee”. I recently booked via the Amari website, and later discovered that Booking. Com had a better rate. When I sent in the claim form, I was given his hysterical response:
”Rates cannot be compared because membership and promotion rates do not qualify. ” The membership in question here is Amari’s own Onyx member programme. In spite of using it, the rate I got at the Amari website is still HIGHER than that of Booking. Com! tl;dr — Book via Booking. Com. Amari’s Best Rate Guarantee does not work.

Shortest family vacation but the most memorable. Get the pool access room for the best experience. Our kids love the kids passport where they hunt for stamps and collect their rewards after. Love everything about Amaya Cafe — from the scrumptious food spread (both dinner and breakfast) to the kids' corner. My kids were sad upon leaving which says a lot about our stay. Keep up the good service Amari.

Me & husband very enjoy went to amari hotel. Goodjob to all department especially engineering department for the good maintenance quality and fast action when needed. Thanks more to staff named Casey if not wrong cause very friendly and funny with jokes. Last but not list, housekeeping staff please smile more. Very recommended for those want to stay here.

Not a good place to rest at night. The walls maybe too thin. Had to endure the laughter and screaming of kids and the parents all night. Until I gave my own screamer! It stopped but barely 10 mins later, off they went again! Fully stopped after 11.30 pm! The breakfast was rather boring. Room service was fast and quite nice. Got breakfast for another person but was charged for dinner! A Stern look settled it.

(visits 1) 3 nights here. Zero zero zero complaints. We have stayed in 4 star hotels across east Asia and went a conference at another 4 star hotel (the Waterfront) here in Johor Bahru, and I can say this one is fantastic. Room is as advertised. Serivce is fantastic. Mini bar is free. If you call for more or towels or ice they come in less than 2 minutes. Nothing was broken or dirty in the room (which from our experience is more common than not in many supposed 4 star hotels). Room service food was good, was quick, and prices were good. Everyone spoke at least a little English. And everyone has been geniunely nice. No faked or forced smiles. Concierge has been fantastic. Helped us with directions and taxis and advice. Pool is nice. Drinks are good and cheap. Breakfast buffet is huge and has many options.

I have conducted two events here and I must say, their service is tip top. Having a good spread of buffet is another plus point. Price is reasonable and staffs are well trained. Will definitely return here.

I had the worst check in experience ever by Natasha. Booked 3 rooms and was told that 2 of the rooms will be connecting rooms however to discover later that it was not. My room key was not able to open the door when I went up. Went down and spoke to Pika (Front Office Manager) and explained everything. Natasha denied mentioning that she told us it was connecting but later admitted she did but that Pika had later informed that it was a side by side room. And I was rather bemused that Pika defended the lie of Natasha and kept on stressing that she cannot offer any alternative apart from moving us to 18th floor but my parents will have to remain on the 11th floor which will defeat the purpose. We actually did not request for connecting rooms but was glad that Natasha had initially anticipated our needs only to feel that we were being cheated of our feelings. Being in the hospitality industry myself for 20 years, I was disappointed overall in the way the matter was being handled by your staff in which I felt there were no sense of empathy and understanding of what we actually brought up to cover up the miscommunication and attempt to lie by Natasha. I undersrood from one of your bellman that she was a senior staff and yet her seniority has not enrich her with the attitude and behaviour of one great hospitality service provider. I expect hear something from the higher management about this matter. I do not want to speak to any of your Front Office staff again!

This was my second time stay at Amari. We booked 2 rooms stayed for 3 nites. We had problem during check in whereby the reception guy Mr. Melvin has messed up our bookings and we have waited for an hour to settled the matters. They promised us that we are getting the room at the same floor and end up at different floor. We were tired to complain again and again. The next day i’ve changed room from the grand king deluxe room 901 to the deluxe king pool access room, room 821. The toilet is dirty. Still have shits at the toilet bowl. The awning outside of the room spoiled. When it is raining the front patio flooded with water. The chair are wet too. We could not enjoy the pool view. Really upset with the service and also the front desk staff. We are paying so much money to enjoy our stay at Amari but end up like this. Please look into this matter seriously if you want to maintain the 5 star hotel title.

The best & most practical location in JB. Room not so big but comfortable bed with executive room design equipped with smart TV and sufficient plug points and USB ports. Much cheaper than Double Tree By Hilton but what you will get is similar. I strongly suggest you buy room at the executive floor. Overall the best in JB considering the staff performance. I am really impressed with the standard of this hotel. The lobby itself is huge and looks grand. They do have their entertainment room opened so you could kill time whilst waiting for your room. Pool table is free of charge. Yeap, free. Play all day all night till you drop. There is also a movie room for kids. A notice is placed on the timings and what shows will played on. I saw a few computers but didn't bother to check it out. We took a King Deluxe Pool Access room for RM610 per night. But it is really worth the price. The room is quite big and spacious. Got its own work table. Pool access is via the balcony of the room. Unfortunately I didn't took any pictures of it. Toilet is nice and well maintained. They do offer breakfast buffet at a cheap rate for walk ins. RM52 per pax. Food is delicious. Hotel is strategically located behind Komtar JBCC. Staffs are professionally superb. I would like to give compliments dedicated to staff Sabree and Mia. I would definitely recommend this place.

Located in the city centre of Johor, Amari Johor suits the lifestyle of many. If you are on a holiday, business trip and just for relaxation. Beside a shopping mall, and easy access to old heritage trail of johor, it is by far the most recommend to stay at. Well trained staff and a very comfortable bedroom, clean sheets and a fluffy pillow you will want to just hug and not want to move anymore. The pillow is not like your ordinary hotel pillow. I must say! I was surprised when I checked in. The lobby is spanking clean, service at the front porch was excellent and of course, check in was a breeze. Rooms are very big and the pool area was excellent. Other than that, the manager was very kind and assisted us with many mi-nute things which made the trip all the more excellent. Location is very good. Next to Citysquare mall. All the eateries and shopping around. Price per night very good. Pool was very clean and good too! Will definitely come back again!

Great location. Hospitality and reception staff politeness was superb. Room is large and cozy. Request for upgrade was turned down due to hotel fully booked. Breakfast was superb with fresh items replenished quickly when low. The only complaint was the need to pay for the car park charges even for hotel guests. They should waive off the charges to retain more customers. There's also a rm10 hotel tax thus the overall hotel rates are on the high side.

Bed was comfortable but a bit small for a king size bed. Facilities are in good condition but I feel that the swimming pool is too small. Value for money for a five stars hotel. Very convenient location.

They charge Rm10 for a night car park fees? 1st time. A hotel that encourage u take public transport to visit? Everything else is good. The car park charge is just doesn't make sense.

Amari johor bahru is conveniently located behind Komtar shopping centre in the heart of downtown Johor Bahru. Check in and out process was smooth and the staff throughout the Hotel were polite during my stay in the Hotel. Also impressed with the room (a twin). Good for tourists and business travellers alike. Overall, a good experience at the Hotel and will not hesitate to stay again.

Great service from front Desk Chris n Azura (not sure if I got it correctly). Chris is v efficient compared to the first woman who served me (forgotten her name). N Azura kept serving us v nice Roselle drink, v refreshing. Thank you. Hehehe.

Hotel room is big and spacious. The location is excellent as it is located near the customs checkpoint (5 min walk) and it is opposite Komtar shopping centre (Komtar is just beside JB City Square). Only negative thing is that the pillows are too soft.

Staff at the hotel were very polite and responsive. Complimentary drinks were offered while waiting at the Lobby. The biz centre and lounge were comfortable. Air-conditioning there was very strong. The twin room on level 10 had a good view of the malls across the road. The room looked clean but because the window cannot be opened, the air inside could have been better circulated. Pillows were soft for those who prefer that. Pillow cases didn't have the fresh laundry fragrance. The toilet didn't flush as well as expected. The room was sprayed with strong fragrance, seemingly to mask the faintly stale air in the room. There was variety of food at the breakfast buffet. I would return to stay because of its location and close proximity to the malls and transport.

Amazing new hotel at JB, convenience is a huge plus (it's a literal 10 minutes walk from the checkpoint and a mere 5 minutes from JBCC). Due to its strategic location, there are lots of shopping options available (2 malls are easily accessible). Facilities at the hotel are adequate, there's all that you can expect to have at a 4* establishment. Cleanliness is a given, the furniture and fittings are modern and not dated in any way. I stayed at the 1 bedroom suite, which was large in size and the furniture's, comfortable. The room is definitely clean in all regards. It was a generally enjoyable stay. Service at the this hotel was wonderful, the staff were attentive and week courteous. The executive lounge was well filled and had general variety in terms of drinks.

A very new hotel with a great facilities and the perfect location just behind the checkpoint in the city center. As usual in Malaysia, a great service that is even surpassed here. Even short-term requests are made possible, so the spa area was actually already booked up, but an appointment was found. The room was huge thanks to free upgrade. Thank you also to all the staff and a very attentive and interested manager. If we come back to JB — we know where we're going to stay!

Nice modern hotel right across from Komtar. The rooms are surprisingly large and clean. Staff is friendly and was able to answer questions competently. Booking on their website directly allows for late check out (3 pm) so it is very good for a less rushed and restful getaway in Johor Bahru.

The location of Amari Johor Bahru is the best! Travelling to Singapore from Johor Bahru is a lot easier when staying at Amari Johor Bahru. I could even cross the boarder to Singapore in the morning and then back to Amari in the evening. Shopping is also easy since it's opposite to one of the biggest shopping mall there. Apart from that staff is very nice, great facilities, good rates. I'll definitely be back if I go to Johor Bahru!

And the husband's two anniversary here to celebrate, the service attitude is very good patience to introduce the most important or sanitary here is clean and clear, so I'm comfortable.

Beautiful and clean hotel. Newly renovated and the lunch buffet has quite a number of varieties, though the oyster that day wasn't fresh, other than that the food is not bad. I enjoyed my lunch there and would love to try their high tea package.

Nicely renovated hotel under new management. Rooms are big. Service is good too. But you can hear the upstairs or neighbours plumbing. The air con is cold but can get noisy when on full blast (auto), use manual setting to minimise the air con noise.

The wait staff at the restaurant were well trained. Polite and observant and very helpful. Rooms were big. Quite cold.

Hotel is new and location is great. However, I could not collect my room keys even at 5 pm. Despite having waited for 2 hours plus. Reason given, room was not updated as ready. I only managed to check in around 11pm, after my shopping and dinner. One of my keys could not work too. Some facility are not yet available. Really disappointing, as the hotel is supposed to be in a upmarket group.

Very bad experience. Wrong reservation detail. Bad receptionist attitude. Check in time is ridiculously late at 3pm. Asking me to wait at lobby without any welcome drink serve or any appreciation token. Have to improve the service quality immediately! First time ever in my life to face this kind of bad low service quality.

Good value (opening promotion), tastefully furnished and good room size. The room is big and comes with everything you may need for a working holiday. Good working desk with desklight, reading bed lights, good bed etc. There is a 2 way cupboard which is a unique feature where you can open the cupboard either from the bathroom corridor side or near the bed. Good breakfast variety with freshly made noodles (select your ingredients), juices etc. There is the Bliss Spa (did not try) and the Ideas room (suitable for brainstorming which has beanbags and pool table). Amari is the first Thai brand hotel in Malaysia and is a good addition to the hotels in JB.
