The beds are comfortable, the dorms have a/c, there is free breakfast, free tea and coffee all day, drinking water and the Wi-Fi is good. Sandakan is only a place you're going to pass through on your way somewhere more interesting, but the hostel is a comfortable place to hang out and do nothing.
Rooms were clean and staff were friendly and helpful providing us with a lot of imformation. Breakfast was limited as it consisted of eggs and bread and peanut butter and that’s it. Lounge area was comfortable and there is a big TV for those who wish to spend a day off from doing the touristy stuff.
